Yeah, I had forgotten the format issues. Maybe I'll try something similar grouping the teams by format. Or maybe just see how many times it becomes an issue and just randomy reassign the review to a team with the right format.

I'm just wondering, are their any plans to put up the fastest guys replays (or at least .max files) like someone did with last years BC, as I know that was very useful as a guide to getting really fast times.

Thanks

Without an edit programe, anything further I reckon we'll all have to put down to honour and trust. We're all grown ups here, and I really can't see anyone risking the public lynching and humiliation that follows when a confirmed cheat is caught."

Lol you dont remember the planets Zero Cool do you? Took me and Pedro about 3 hours of interrigation to catch the little bugger out .

I dont mean to put a damper on it Duke but your gonna learn the hard way why no one ever wants to run a boards challenge a second time. If the race tracks are carefully selected to be those where no wall touching can possibly gain an advantage, replays are redily available and MK or someone else has done a proggy even then **** would hit the fan somewhere.

Well, I was a fill-in for BC3, and I heard about the BC4 debacle. I'm expecting it. We'll just have to do our best without MK.

hey all guys, I need to know if such a challenge can be allowed as proposal for wild card:

Any Car/Total price of car and any mods must not exceed 100,000 credits

I'll keep the track secret...this is the part I need to know of the proposal...please answer asap...

Rico ;)

@ Rico. Hi Mate. The way I intepreted the wildcard, was any race that doesn't fit the other categories scenarios. So I guess that would leave it wide open to any format you chose. If some cook up rediculous ones (like a 24 hour race) they prolly won't get a vote. But a race with a budget tag on it sounds reasonable to me 👍 .

@Wity. Yep I remember the Zero Cool saga. He re-registered as ZC13 or something a few months later didn't he?. You put up trans-scirpt at Kenji's of all the hassle you and Pedro had trying to nail him if I remember right. I also remember how the guy got ripped to peices by everyone in the known cheaters gallerys for months on end. (which was kinda my point). So if anyone wants to go through that for the sake of an extra second or two, good luck to em .

Some notes for everybody preparing rosters and proposals:

Team Roster: When you have determined your final team, just edit the members' names into your post in the Team Sign Ups thread.

Round Proposals: Please email your team's race proposals to bc5admin@gmail.com . I will collect them and start poll threads for each round's voting.

Voting: Each team will decide privately what rounds they will vote for, and then the team manager will cast a single vote for each round. Remember, each team may vote for no more than 3 of its own proposals. Voting results will be public so this will be easily determined.

Duke...our qualifies will end the 31th of july...can u give me this day in plus?
cos I have some guys who started to do them yesterday, cos they were in holiday...I'll send u the team list 31th's evening with gtirn proposals

is it possible?

Actually, I meant to extend the Team Selection through 15 August. I don't see a real hurry to get the final team rosters in, but I want the real teams to have a chance to discuss which proposals they will vote for as a team. So we'll go another couple of weeks before team rosters are due.

Remember, you don't need to announce which member will be running which round until you submit your results in September.

I heard that team composition submission is extended to 15th August. What about race submission deadline? Is it still by the end of July or also extended to 15th Aug.?

Thx

Ah man, we've been busting a nut to stay in line with the original schedule. Still never mind have to go with the bigger picture ;)

Kind of bunches up the testing and choosing a little though doesn't it?. We will now have around just 15 days (15Aug - 31Aug) to wade through a hundred plus races :nervous:

Don't worry, Tony! I would like to keep the submission and voting deadlines as they were. I think it will take a month to preview the proposals and decide which rounds to vote for, and nail down any final issues we might have. I don't want to push that back any.

Team selection, on the other hand, is a little more administrative, and I wanted to allow for last-minute changes to the lineup if required. So that's why I extended this deadline a little.

:dunce: Note to self.. learn to read :) Yep sorry Duke, grabbed the wrong end of the stick Team deadline extended: Race submision schedule as normal. Sorry M8 been one of those weeks for me :)

Hi Duke / All,
Have a question from one of our team that I would like a little feedback or a ruling on.

"If we have a hot lap race can we (or anyone else) legally make an illegal wall ride or corner cut before the hot lap begins to give us more pace entering the start/finish straight?

I have thought this before and it seems to be a loop hole in the rules as the hot lap save will not show any infrigements but an advantage could be gained, especially somewhere like Le Sarthe."

Hi Duke / All,

I definitely think that is outside the spirit of the rules... but:

I see no reasonable way to prevent it from being done, or easily verified in the replays, so I reluctantly have to rule that it's acceptable.

OK. thanks for the quick response guys.
I agree thats it's outside the spirit of clean driving. But as you say, it's not an easy thing to check. Prolly the only way would be to get a few of the really super fast guys to measure the best possible top speed attainable over the start line using a clean run-up. Which might be a bit impractical in this comp.
Anyway thanks fella's 👍 I'll tell them anything goes before the lap proper starts.

Duke
Once I have the proposals compiled, I will start poll threads for each round. PLEASE do not vote as individual drivers there. Discuss among yourselves which proposals to choose, and then have the team manager cast the team's vote for each round.

hey Duke...what about making a private sub-forum just for managers then? :)

I meant that you guys should discuss on your own boards what your teams wanted to vote for. I assume that you each have your own private (or semi-private) boards for team business.

There actually is a managers/admins board set up; I just need to make it visible to each of you on the managers list. I planned on doing that once the proposals were in and up for voting.

Pre-Lap strategy is like Fight Club...you don't talk about Fight Club or Pre-Lap strategy. :mischievous:

J/K, folks

I think it would be pretty easy to spot this on a replay. We're all supposed to be experts, and I'm pretty sure an inordinately high starting speed would be rather obvious...unless your name is Flinx ;)

Duke, I've been MIA for a couple of weeks with a dead hard drive. Just got back online this week. Any chance of delaying the proposal submission by a week? Or maybe even a few days?

Well, I suspect that Rico and GTIRN could use a little extra time as well... but I hate to disappoint/offend the TORC folks and the others who have gotten their submissions in on time.

Tony, what do you guys think?

Duke don't worry about offending me mate, you've got enough balls to juggle already :).

I'd be ok with a one week extention say Monday 8th August. My main worry is that with 12 boards there shoud be 120 plus races to wade through, and any delay cuts the time we have allowed to get a good look at them to pick our votes. A month ..(1st - 31st Aug) was comfortable.. 3 weeks (8th -31st Aug) is managable, but any more would be a push (at least for our bunch anyway). If it the racing proper was to get pushed back (later than Sept 1st) we'd be in real trouble as some team members will be away in Early Sept, and even with alternates we'd probably cop a chance of DNF's.

So yep, to a one weeks extention. I should imagine teams have some race proposals ready, and just need a little extra to fill the order. if others haven't even made a start yet, then I'd say they'd better get thier fingers out. This thread went up on the 7th June which was plenty of time hollidays or not :).

One quick thought:
While the others are filling thier race submision orders. why not publish what races are in already on schedule.. so that other support team members can test what is availible.. just to keep the backlog to a minimum.. just a thought.. It's quite likey that you would preffer to release all of them together, which I'd fully understand.

Duke...GTIRN's proposals are ready ;)
we had to delay just for waiting some team's members to join the 2 qualifiers I've set...nothing more...

Rico ;)

I just noticed when I posted my reminder that you were planning on developing your proposals in August, based on your reply to my previous message...

Thanks for Deadline extension, Duke 👍

We just opened our Private Team forum last night, and about half the team has submitted proposed races. We should have our list down by Next Sunday evening.

Okay i may be going over something someone has already asked (sorry, i couldnt bare to read posts for 9 pages), but do you have to be in a team, or have a team to enter this comp?? or can people run solo??? If its teams only, do all drivers have to be able to run well, or will the chosen racers possibly be from seperate teams. Are there restrictions to controllers used, whether its GP or wheel??

Any Help appreciated.
