OK, so now I know that the other thread I was on is a subject that talks about locations having interest in hosting an F1 Grand Prix. But, in this thread, we talk about F1 Grands Prix we dream of!

One day.

I want the Old Spa back!

And the original Nurburgring.

Or the ring for starters

This guy knows exactly what F1 needs. 👍

Lets add some more old-school bad-assery to it:

(yes, yes, I know this would replace Monza, but with two fantastic straights like that, what's to complain about?)

:D

Mount Panorama. Just jack the ride height up, should do the job.

Also, London. If Spain can have two GPs, why not the UK?

Bring back and redo 1982 with the original cars, tracks, and drivers, but with todays TV technology and onboard cameras and without the deaths and injuries.

11 winners from 16 races, although Villeneuve and Pironi doing the whole season would have changed that.

How about a Hong Kong Grand Prix?

StockCarRacer
A Hong Kong Grand Prix, as I said earlier; or, how about a Grand Prix in the Caribbean?

Look, here's the deal. If you want to bring the Grand Prix circus to a dream location, here is what you have to say just like my sayings above.

We can have two italian grand prix's!

Because the UK's government doesn't give a damn about F1 and would have happily sat by and let the British grand prix disappear of the calendar. They sure as hell aren't going to help fund a Grand prix. Plus there would be too much objection as it would involve closing some streets down. Not to mention those streets would have to be resurfaced.

I honestly see a Grand Prix happening in New York first.

Those tracks ---> Those cars -----> nowadays driving standards ----> no survivors ;)

Revisit: Brands Hatch, Indy F1, Fuji, Zandvoort, Hockenheim new (Permanently, no Nurburgring), Red Bull Ring, AVUS, Long Beach.
Visit: Ahvenisto, Fundidora

or an Indianapolis oval GP.

You're joking, right? I mean, F1 has never raced on an oval, and that's not an accident. This is not an oval series, has never been an oval series, and will never be an oval series. Throwing in an oval race would be like replacing a major NFL football game with a game of cricket played by NFL players; fans would be outraged.

A Grand Prix in Hong Kong or the Caribbean would be dreamy because of the beautiful landscape and oh the scenery! And they would be great for the sport, IMO.

Hey it's a dream thread, lets make them race on this layout too!

They raced on the monza oval so technically they have done it.

No technically they haven't. Since the rest of the track was part of the lap it was a Roval. :)

You've said both of the tracks 2 times already

Anyways, other that what I've stated in the previous page, I would really like to see the comeback of the older Hockenheimring. It was something like a longer Monza but it would be great if we could see it coming back to the calendar though obviously that wouldn't happen :p

The Indy 500 was part of the Formula One World Championship between 1950 and '60. So technically it has.

Only on a technicality. The Indy 500 was not run to F1 regulations, and few people from the world of Grand Prix racing took part in it. Most grand prix drivers, teams and even journalists didn't even bother with it. Likewise, most Indy teams, drivers and journalists didn't even bother with F1.

The two were very alien to each other. In other words, no Grand prix has ever been held on a straightforward oval to F1 regulations. Sure, they raced that Monza layout, but that doesn't really count either. F1 on an oval is a very bad idea imo. There isn't exactly a lack of oval racing in north america and they do it very well so why not leave things as they are. Racing fans are well catered for as it is.
