What are some decent drifting cars that I could buy? I want one that can drift for a long time and that can be handled quite well. If possible it would also be good if that car could have a top speed.

There will be loads of suggestions. I learned to drift in a renaultsport clio from the Premium dealership. This car also has a top speed :banghead:

M3 (GTR or CLS) or any of the Toyota supra's....or and of the rx7's... or any of the S series Nissans.... 350z and the 370z.... S2000's... 180sx or the 240sx... Tom's Chaser... I like MR's so the Toyota MR2 or the Honda NSX... pretty much anything man... their are 1,000 cars in this game... try and drift um all lol.

Silvia S15, nearly stock; weight reduction, LSD, Oil Change and Comfort Hard tyres.

Turn LSD settings to 60/60/60

First and foremost, there's a reason there is a "search" function in this forum. For exactly the types of questions your asking. Use a little initiative and you would have found the Beginners Guide which also contains a whole list of cars you can try out to start drifting in.

Use the search button!!!

RWD? Road Legal? Comfort Hards?

You're set...

I don't blame him for the warning :sly:
My advice, go to youtube; search initial D; pick amongst any vehicle that is not awd or ff; then practice:tup:
What is it with these Initial D fanboys? O_O

Sigh...yet another observation of how sarcasm fails to translate over the internet..

But on the flipside, god forbid I advise someone new here to pick amongst an AE86, FC/FD, S13, etc...as his beginning drift car... that's frickin blasphemy!
(Now wondering if sarcasm was picked up on)

Anything FR, Initial D has recommended good starter cars like the S-chasis or the FC. That is probably why people use it sooo much.

I have found the v8 cars (corvette, camaro, gto, commodore) will stay sideways longer because of the power they provide, but you have to tune it or you will fight it. Plus they all will have a very good top speed. Just my 2 pennies.

Drifting high power tends to lead to hate in most groups of drifters, and will have you spinning out allot in learning stages.

I will agree with that but I do not understand the hate? What is there to hate? In D1GP there are people running 600 hp and there are people running 400hp so what is the difference? If you learn with higher power, then the lower power is boring. I am not trying to pee in anyones cereal. Just my opinion.

You don't learn about Weight transferring or throttle control( or those important courses). However, didn't Ueo win one series in an underpowered car?

So true...hp masks skill..its an easy way to get a vehicle to do what you want it to do...that's not so bad in of itself until you realize the "drifting skills" you thought you had don't mean squat in a lower powered vehicle...gotta crawl before you walk, let hp rise to your skill not vice versa

In BDC, the Cosworth Supra is running over 1000bhp.

Comp drifting is very different to 'fun' drifting.

Agreed...sadly enough...I still contend that all that hp is not doing a service to the skills of the drivers..I'd be quite interested to see all the "top" drifters worldwide restricted to an arbitrary hp limit, say 350bhp and see if they can hold their own amongst the amateur crowd. I'm not saying that there isn't a substantial # of them that would be able to remain competitive or dominate altogether, but I think it would become painfully clear who dominates because of actual skill, or who dominates because of a heavy right foot weighed down by sponsor dollars that essentially purchase hp and chassis upgrades..

Beginning drifters need to start small, period. It makes them better drivers. Once they attain a certain level of skill turn up the hp and chassis a bit and get to learning again...its an ongoing process that far too many choose to bypass by using hp as a cheat sheet, missing important details of the subtleties of drifting,
