I accidently selected auto the other day when I was doing an arcade race... I thought God was going to smite me. I was afraid :(

I use manual.

i use AT i just find MT extra work

It's necessary extra work.... Manual gives you direct control over the power of the engine, so you can keep the revs just where you need them... With automatic you have to do more work to keep the car from shifting unexpectedly.... Try Manual, and give it a good long practice session... At this point you have made it harder for yourself because now you have to unlearn auto, and unlearning is much harder than learning....

i don't use either.... i use the search button!

lol

lol... Indeed... This thread has been posted on more than a few occasions...

;)

i learned to play the game normally grip driving and MT...

i picked up Drifting later.. and drifting with auto just felt wrong... if my fingers aren't on L2 and R2 it just doesn't feel right...

i use auto and hold gears if i need to. auto shouldnt f up on you if you can take advantage of it properly.

manual is especially a pain in the ass with 900d steering <_<. but it does help because the dfp doesnt have shoulder buttons. pressing buttons while steering is pretty much immpossible, and you cant hold the stick with one hand and use the other for the wheel. (i cant, at least)

Auto... :( Manuals a pain to get used to. I have the speeds down to a science, so I can drift a majority of turns without letting the AT downshift or upshft too frequently

manual all the way, yo!! yes, you can drift with AT but it lets you learn the wrong way  👎 . so if you're an AT user...START practicing MT NOW!!

YES SIR

P.s i dont kno how to put that orignaly posted by someone else how do i do it :dunce:

i use manual, with the logithech pro, is fun. i have a video ready to post and i ask sylviadrifter and reyen is sick so i'll just have to wait. But yea.... Manual is cool, i can manage the gears. :D :D :D

I use manual almost in all car's games, specially in gt series, manual give much more control of the car's hp and other things, and if I drift in automatic I don't feel very well the control of the car, I feel that there is something missing. So I use manual. For me skip from automatic for manual wasn't very hard, when I skip to manual I already had the control of the cars (very good control), but sometimes I needed to brake to reduce a gear to get power, but the brakes made me lose time, so I at that time, started to pratice at manual and 2 weeks after I was faster with manual than automatic. Manual is the way to get faster times.

MT. i wish it really had clutch plus with 6 gears! maybe reverse too :P
it's too easy to use MT. i mean.. you just press R2 or L2 - _-;

Sequential's good enough for me. Imagine trying to drift with a clutch and shifter like F355.....insanely fun and realistic, but HARD AS *%^&#)^& HELL. And now, with the 900 degrees, I'll have bigger arms than my brother, the way I drift. It's all about linking turns.....left, right, left, right, left, ri..ght..l....ft,...*arms fall off*

That's a good point...the manual will slow you down more subtly then using the brakes. However, that's not really how it's supposed to be used. The main point of a manual is that you can keep the revs where you want them without having to be a magician with the throttle.

I've never tried drifting with an auto and quite frankly can't imagine it. I'm not looking down on those who do. But for me, it'll always be manual.

I'll go ahead and say what everyone else has been tyring to say: AUTOMATICS ARE FOR PUSSES!!! If you can even use two more buttons on a controller, then i would hate to see you driving a real car.
