It is possible. If there is head tracking in GT5, you'll be able to view almost every part of the interior of a car. Including the driver and co-driver. Right?

No, that would mean detaching your head from your neck and placing it on the dashboard so you could see yourself. You wouldn't be able to see any more than what we can already, in race.

Oh so you're saying that graphics aren't important either since they do not affect the driving and just enhance the esthetic of the game ? :dopey:

Seriously man... it would be a nice little feature and if people want a livery editor why not design your racing suit or helmet as well ? Wouldn't even take much time to develop and if you don't like it, don't use it.

If it's only for people who are bored out of ther minds how come you use an avatar on this very forum ? It would pretty much be the same in GT5

some of us are taking what will or will not be put in the game way too serious. Let's remember here, Kaz is the one that decide what will be GT. Us gamer have these forum to suggest what we would like to see in the game, then Kaz and PD will decide whether or not they want to do those thing. So why not suggest all we want so, it doesn't hurt to dream. It's not like we say we want a cup holder and they will actually delay the game to please us.
Anyway, just relax guys and be patient cuz no matter how much we want to play GT5 right now, it will be out when it's ready to.

So, we've recently heard that we can select our clothing for our A-Spec avatars.

Do you think that maybe this avatar will play a bigger part in the game, such as owning a place to live (like in TDU), or maybe we can walk around in the photomode?

I'm very curious as to how far this feature has been implemented and what effects it may have on the game.

Thoughts?
 
there was a trailer where there is an actual guy in a black suit with a visible face without a helmut driving a car.I believe it was the Toyota vid where they show the concept driving through Eiger?

It was confirmed a while ago that you can walk around in photomode and view the car from a persons perspective and then take pics from whatever angles you wish.
 
My guess is that it will be similar to Tourist Trophy, in addition to changing clothes ( aka riding suits, helmets and more casual gear like jeans and jackets ) you could also change the height ( and weight if I remember correctly ).
Hopefully even more, like changing the physical characteristics like you can do in games like FIFA ( creating a player ).

I guess that's just before you enter a race ( as all that visual info needs to be loaded as well ), would be strange you can't change it again in the main menu or wouldn't it?

It might be a sensible explanation, that it's before going into a race, but the wording seems odd: "once selected, cannot be changed again"; almost as though "ever" is implied?

Of course, it is a google-translation...


But I hope it is like TT, since that came after GT4.
 
I think that if you were to chose a GT overall set, it will change colour according to the car that you drive, but if you change to a 'casual' set or 'stylish' set, again it may change colours depending on what you drive, or may just stay the same. I'm sure that you would be able to change the clothing, I can't imagine PD locking something as simple as that.

I know, I've read it too, and like you said it's a Google translation which in general leaves, ahem, something to be desired.
Can't believe when they offer a selection like TT it will be a final one once selected, if so it better be carefully chosen.
This would be less like choosing clothes in real life but more like getting a tattoo.....

Maybe it was just a banner displaying a combination of 'are you sure?', 'go back' and 'final selection' which then got "translated" the way it did.
 
It would be nice if it translated this over to Home. Your avatar there is in GT5 too. Allot of people will be in a Stig outfit on online races.

It isn't the Stig.....it's a still from the movie '2001 A Space Odyssey'....
Do people think it's the Stig? Oh dear, might be a good reason to change it.

Hopefully, this can be fixed/updated in the next game so we can "change our leathers" at any time.

Just like the issue with the 20 tracks/locations?, I think something is getting lost in translation, the photo shows GT Life selected, but it would make more sense for th Avatar to be selected under Profile.

Well...at least we'll have different colours of Stigs, so it won't be too bad.

Just an afterthought, I wonder if GT franchise would move beyond the avatar and allow us to customize our own garage as well. Obviously not a full-blown scale to build one from the scratch and create the ones in the video, but wow...those would be some nice photomode locations. 👍

Also could this trailer signify the "car delivery" feature that we have seen in the menus? (at the beginning of the trailer)

Perhaps we get to test drive our new delivered car without racing suits but we have to race with them on. Just a guess.
 
Well, my avatar will be wearing jeans and a t-shirt, my usual get-up. I'll give him a black racing helmet though for safety.... unless you can only select different leathers... in which case I want red ones. With red helmet. RED!
 
I would imagine once you set certain aspects of your avatar, like their actual human physical eatures, you wouldn't be able to adjust that again. However things like racing suits and other clothing I would imagine should remain open.

Again if Tourist Trophy acts as an indicator this could very well be an option as in TT you could choose vintage leather racing suits and an old helmet/driving gloves as well ( for the classic bikes ) and more casual wear ( a selection of jeans/ leather boots/ jackets ) in several styles.
Does anyone remember that leather jacket with the skeleton graphic on both sides?
 
I hope they didn't spent time on avatar outfitting for GT5. TDU2 is just around the corner and half of that game is your avatar and furnishing your estates and clubs.

I can't help but ask myself when would you actually appreciate your getup in GT5. Podium finish cutscene at the end of a multiplayer race? If thats the case then avatar customisation might be a little fun.
 
My avatar will probably have my look which is jeans and a shirt (or a Black leather blazer if possible).
