If head tracking does make it into GT5, how exactly is that gonna work?
Because the last time I checked, when I look left or right, my TV isn't really there. đź’ˇ:confused:

it would be like this

it's better if you have more than one monitor, but i dont know if the ps3 supports it

you always can adjust the sensitivity

That is pretty cool. However I am noticing the same problem, that if I want to look left, I'll look to far left and not see the TV lol.

The besting about the ps3 system is it use a camera and not a sensor bar, this mean you dont have to wear any goggles or reference points, the camera can detect the angle of ur head from an image of u.

Is the camera already in the PS3 or is that something we add later???

Turn you head left, then turn your eyes right. Voila!

I'm sure you can also adjust the sensitivity so if you turn your head 10 degrees, the game turns the camera 30 degrees.

You need one of these, a ps3 eyetoy, they are available from Amazon for £22.99 👍

it may look like this :) :

it's not head tracking but emulated via phonecamera :D

As someone stated it can be achieved via eyetool. Question is: Will they will add this feature...

Thanks maximumattack. Do they work on GT5P or do you know?

No problem cletus

This feature isn't included with GT5P unfortunately, there was a news article about the head tracking feature here on GtPlanet a while ago ;)

Thank you again! I also noticed that KY said that the camera view will be fully adjustable. So even without the PS-EYE we can probably get that pesky a-pillar out of our fov. That statement could answer about 3 or more threads that are at the top of the forums today. Just goes to show that for some people(me) old news can still be new news.

Haha, I was just thinking the same thing mate 👍

Sony have had the tech for a while (in the AIBO),and as mentioned above without the need for LED's.
I remember seeing this just after it was first uploaded

can't embed using Ps3 browser at the moment.

Also regarding not being able to view the TV,if you turn your head 10% to the left the game could do a 50% turn,so you wont fully look left/right.
I hope they get the 3d effect were it looks like the screen has depth, that would be amazing.

What if you have no head?

It'll probably work best if you sit close enough to the screen. This video works best explain the head detecting and tracking method:

PS Eye will track your head on all planes (3D) but it remain to be seen if GT5 will.

I'll definitely buy a PS Eye for this if it will be able to see me while I'm sitting in my Playseat about 7 feet back and 2 feet lower than the camera. And actually looking at my TV, I don't have too much room, but I can make room.

If you do use the head tracking feature, will you have to sit directly in front of your TV. I usually sit on a couch, which is to the left of my TV and I'm wondering whether my seating posistion will have an effect?

You don't have to put the camera on the TV, you can put it anywhere, with in a range so it can track your movement.
