I think I'm into the same kind of dub that allent2 is into. Good stuff allent2, keep it coming. 👍

Here are 3 of my favorites and a bonus video.

This one's for the flithy phils.

Kind of on the verge of dubstep and drum and bass. Sick song though.

What do people think of the new Chase and Status album? I only really like 3 or 4 songs of it, the rest is pretty awful imo.

IMO, dubstep is dead. Too many artists and tracks flooding the market. This can be seen really easily in a producer's/artist's point of view. TL;DR, its kinda too late for dubstep.

I agree unfortunately, it's gone from being an interesting genre consisting of many different styles and sounds to an over-populated genre full of 'wobble' tracks and poor remixes done by 13 year old kids who upload Call of Duty videos to YouTube. 👎

Every genre has its black sheep and corporate crap. To not like something simply because its starting to become mainstream or "known" is the first step to becoming.... a HIPSTER -.- no one likes hipsters, except for hipsters.

Here is someone new to me, maybe new to the dubstep game idk, but his production style is very good. If you thought Mt. Edens remix of Zelda music was good (i didnt) the Ephixa will blow you away! :)

got to his website www.ephixa.com and check out his other albums, they are all GE in my books. XD

More of a metal guy myself but being an aspiring audio engineer and musician I like a variety of stuff.

A couple of tracks I like.

Skrillex (remixed by Noisia)

Feed Me - recommend 720p on this one

And make sure you turn up the BASS!

prefer DnB over dubstep, mostly crossover genre stuff tho, artist like Cooh, Counterstrike, SPL, DJ Hidden, Eye-D, Current Value, The Outside Agency and so on

The Outside Agency are the bizness, There Hardcore that is though! Genosha recs is one of the best Hardcore label's around! 👍

Current Value's & Cooh's DnB is top notch! SPL's Dubstep! 👍

Today, I was met with a surprise. Dubstep is almost dead. Yes, that is right. In my opinion, dubstep will be the new hop-hop/ dance music as popular as it is today. With new artists emerging and making terrible songs, in my opinion, dubstep is dead. Almost everyone I speak to starts bragging how they love dubstep. In the back of my head, I was like "Ohhh myy gooddd.... its gonna be dead." I think that I will now go hide in a cave and listen to drum and bass, which is likely to not be ruined IMO.

Someone from UKFforums-
i think the real problem is that the word 'Dubstep' doesn't really mean anything anymore. I can completely sympathise with people getting frustrated about it, but i love to hear new styles of music being created and developed all the time, even if i don't like the resulting genre in the end.

What's really sad is that so many people think they hate dubstep, when really what they hate is things like skrillex, datsik, borgore etc. and they haven't even had a chance to listen to the likes of skream, digital mystikz, kromestar, distance etc. (for the record, I like both of these styles but i'm just making a point)

What we really need to do is forget the word dubstep altogether, and give several new names to the different styles, but i really don't think that's gonna happen!

Today the Dubstep is not a genre with sub-genres, but its a feature added to another genres. So probably the "dubstep concept that i like" is not the same to the other people.

ive been listening to dubstep for a few years now n i think the complete opposite! you need to get out there and start listening to upcoming artists...dont JUST listen to all the mainstream stuff, because i find that nearly all the mainstream stuff (not just dubstep) these days is just the same (as they say different toilet same...) its the underground scene that got me hooked on dubstep and i still am...even though i discovered it from dnb! have a look at other forms of dubstep as well...
personally i like some of the chilled beats such as eskmo, submerse, von d etc

and if you do liked chilled beats search liquid dnb in youtube...your ears will thank you!

oh and for all you dub heads search 'boiler room' i would post a link but im using the gtplanet app so i cant!
just what i mean when the upcoming artists are bringing a new smell to dubstep...!

Anyone think Mt. Eden does amazing dubstep? I can't think of one bad song, they make me feel calm, relaxed but very alive and I enjoy that sensation, only get it from their songs.

You guys like opinions right :D

I can't see what is so popular about dubstep. Then again, I can't see why 3/4s of the top 40 are even there. I love my drum and bass and trance / house but this is just so, extreme, but not in the great "awesome surfer dude" way.

Radio 1 in the UK did a show one Monday and basically just said its just beats sped up with a ton of sound effects added. Chris Moyles then and there made your typical Dubstep track without even trying. I guess I'm becoming more of an old fart now, this stuff just isn't good to my ears.

you know that piece of **** is typical mysinterpretation of what is dubstep right now. The stuff getting the most exposure (Skrillex as an example, or the Circus record crew)and their are for a lot of people defining dubstep, which in my opinion is totally wrong. First of all, dubstep puts emphasis on bass and working with space in the tracks, not just a huge wall of sound made by midrange sounds and millions of cymbals and hihats..

well i suck at writing, but the point is: a lot of people (the most in this thread too) are getting wrong impression of what dubstep is/used to be/should be (imo) about. sadly, the music is made just to appeal the masses of teenagers and to make money, not for the sake of music itself.

i include some examples of "real" dubstep

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuaQyQ_-ba0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pBCA9mUciU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrzH57DJWdc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIWM0qO_cKA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x3eIZg6a6Q

too much to pick from, but i tried...

I try not to be a hipster when it comes to dubstep.

Its becoming more known around my area in Oklahoma. Skrillex is definitely talked about the most, and his Scary monsters and Nice Sprites is almost always dropped by every local DJ; sometimes if there is a lineup of 4 DJ's, you will hear it 4 times...

But i still like skrillex, i just dont want to listen to his stuff all the time.
I want Dubstep to be more popular, but at the same time i don't. If that makes any sense. XD

So here are a couple good tracks that should be in the club (but aren't) for you all!

Timeline-Drugs

DOCTRINE-Celestial

Figure-Aliens (Original)

Hustle Hard (Spinstyles remix)
