Endurance Races or What?!?!?

i'm getting really worried that a-spec mode does not have endurance races. can someone please confirm what the deal is! thanks.

then why can't anyone confirm it? everyone is assuming it is in the game but no one has found it. also, no one has been able to confirm that fuel actually depletes! it's just always full!

Considering there's a trophy for completing the Endurance events, I believe it's confirmed. You might, however, have to complete Beginner, Amateur, Expert and Extreme events. Or they're unlocked at levels about 20.

Cause you probably need to be lv30+ or so? Not everything is unlocked from the start in this game.. Just give it some time till someone reaches that level or see for yourself when you get the game.

There was no trophy for endurance events in the revealed trophy list video. People are assuming that it is one of the hidden trophies. I really hope so because that is where I plan to spend the most of my time.

i think they are on the extreme races, that would be the most obvious guess.

The Le Mans 24 hour and the Nurburgring 24h would be a given, but I really hope there is an endurence for Daytona (oval and road). Maybe a NASCAR Daytona 500 race?

Hopefully the classics would be there like the Grand Valley 300km, 2 Hours at Trial Mountain, 2 Hours of Rome (from GT2 and GT3, but on the new course obv.), Laguna Seca 200 Miles, and the Roadster 4h Endurance.

Grand Valley 300km was always a classic ... remember replaying that race over and over just to get the alternate black castrol supra with blue/red decals

Someone over on NeoGAF said that he is almost finished with all of the A-Spec events and has not found a single endurance race yet. We are thinking that maybe you have to beat everything first and then it is unlocked. Failing that, it is a racing series that will be added later. :/

Pretty sure when I silvered the intermediate AMG challenge screens popped up that said I had unclocked a 4hr race of some sort. I haven't bothered looking for it yet though.

Someone else posted that they unlocked a 4hr Circuit de la Sarthe race too. But I haven't seen anyone mention any longer races yet.

Also no one's been able to confirm if you can save your progress or not yet.

That was me. I just reached Level 25, and the Endurance Series just appeared

Unfortunately, not much. I've only done the first one which took about an hour and 45 minutes, and it was basically like any other race aside from being longer, and with tire wear and fuel consumption. When pitting you have the option to change tires and refuel as much quantity as you'd like. But that's it. There was no option to save or suspend the race. Almost all of the races look like they can be completed in 2-4 hours with a fast car, but there is a 9-hour Tsukuba race as well as the two 24-hour races. Needless to say, if there isn't an option to suspend those races or somehow B-Spec them........yikes

Our PS2, did 2 24 hour races in a row and then carried on non stop for days later in GT4, it was around 1 week continuous, it can handle it. Infact I wouldn't say its too unlikely to be an area tested and aimed for by Sony, to run very very long periods.

it may be able to handle it, but the life of your ps3 will be shortened considerably...

No, it won't. Several companies run PS3's 24/7, Sony test and develop them to run for days at a time.

One of the main issues with ps3's failing is that they overheat and over time that heat causes some selinoid or chip (I know it's some type of small piece soldered to a board inside) to fail or fall off completely.

You guys may not mind, but I can guarantee that me and a million others don't want to run our ps3's for like 55 hours straight to complete a 24 hour endurance race.

...And I say 55 hours because people won't play for 24 hours straight, they will need to sleep and eat.

I'm on level 17 and haven't seen anything yet. But I can wait a few more .

My biggest fear is that Endurance only could be played in BSpec mode, so we are forced to increase B spec level to unlocket, right know I have 19 A spec and 1 B Spec, I just want B Spec to do some work for me in Endurance races, but not all the race and to used whe GT Anywhere becomes availeable.

I hope we can save the game in boxes or something like that, and also an option to change between A ans B Spec.
