wot type of endurance races do u think should be in gt4? 💡
besides the ones that will most likely be in the game like the 2 hour and the lap count.

i reckon they should have 1 special endurance that lasts like 4 hours, but is twilight, and the sun does down to night, only for 1 race, it would be an awsome feature

or a endurance where you have either 2 hours or 90 laps, and which eva one comes first is the end of the race.

re create the 24hour races

when you pit in you can save so you can turn it off and come back later or it counts as a team mate driving and whn you go back out a good 2 to 3 house have been taken off the race time to make it more realistic.

A very good topic and one that is sadly neglected on this forum.

I can't see a changing weather endurance being included - it looks like most of the tracks will have "set" weather conditions.

I'd like the "option" to set up endurances rather than pre-set ones, maybe like GT2's choice of 1-99 laps.

Long endurance on the "Ring" would be nice, but not 24 hours because I think this would be too long with only 6 cars on the grid.

I would enjoy endurances much more with a larger grid. I think the 6 car limit is a bit of a downfall for endurances races because you end up in a position where your position remains static for most of the race and in the end you are mainly just running to improve lap times.

Assuming the game is around 3 times as large at GT3, it will be quite frightening if there are 3 times the amount of endurances. If there are say 30 endurance races you are looking at around 50 hours just to complete them!

wow thats scary if its 3 times as big, i mean GT3 took alot of gaming hours to beat.
well the 3 month holiday i have when GT4 comes out will come in handy

An endurance race where the AI doesn't become mind numbingly boring after 5 laps :sly:

endurance races.....bring them on! the endurance races have been my favorite part of the GT series. 24 hour endurance races would be great as long as my Ps2 doesn't die. but i think instead of having just 2 hour races they should bump it up to 4 hours like said earlier in this thread.

Has a six car limit been confirmed? I think a minimum of twelve cars would be good for endurance races, but then again it would suck to finish in twelth place.

I would love to race a Nurbürgring Endurance with my brand-new BMW M5. 💡

I don't seem to gain any enjoyment whatsoever from endurance races. They just drag out on and on, requiring no skill at all. It's hardly fun to already be in the lead at lap 10, and know you have another 80 laps of boring monotony to go through before you can move on. They're going to have to spice things up a bit somehow for me to have any interest.

Bring them, and double them in length - Just did the Grand Valley Speedway 300 in a 500Bhp Ruf RGT - Love the game, hate this chair, my arse is trying to kill me at the moment....

Seriously - a few 3-4 (even 5 IMHO) hour races, where you're stock in the same car as the competition, and the AI doesn't play bumber cars... Bring 'em on !....

Although, IF Le Mans is in, it is a doubt that it or Nurburgring will be in a 24 hour endurance race. The courses are just too LONG for a 6 car 24 hour race. If anything, these 2 tracks are the only ones that should be allowed to race 24 cars on these tracks for 24 hours.

Bring 'em!!! I'm ready! :sly:

Seriously, endurance races are very, very welcome. The guys at PD just have to create some form of savegame in the race, like Infogrames' Test Drive LeMans on the Dreamcast. I entered its 24 hour event twice, first with a Toyota GT-One and then a Dodge Viper.
It's very easy, because as you're entering the pits, you receive the options menu, where you can define pit settings (tires, fuel) or select to save the game. On the following day, load it up and get off the pits...
This is an excellent system and really should be used by Polyphony.

Something like that would help tremendously. 👍

Don't forget

Le Mans 24 hours (PS2) has the same option, BUT, if you use cheats, you can't save the game.

To get something good, you must sacrifice something better.

Personally I hate Endurance Races. They were too easy and too long. I know length is the idea, but when there isn't any good competition, it's no fun.

With 6 cars on track I dslike the Enduance races, even with good AI the pack will still split up dramatically leving you on your own for most of the race.

i reckon all the endurance races should have 12 cars on the track and make sure the endurance races arent on boring tracks, like the super speed way, its boring..goin around and around..but nurburgring would be fun, it aint a boring track for wot i can see and youll always be doin something with that massive track, and more opponents!

as long as they dont put in a stupid race like 60 laps of the nurb in an untuned prius :scared: , i love the endurance races they come as a welcome change to the shorter races. I like the sound of the saving option aswell.

a endurance with 11 polyphony 001/002(if they r in gt4) opponents would be awsome, and have a 70 lap race or so with that

Then why don't you try using a slower car. I use cars that sometimes have half the power. That makes the game more challenging, and makes pit strategy come into to play.

If you're using a car that gives you the lead position at the end of the very first lap, it's no wonder you're bored.

yeh thats wot i do, i use a car with the standards of the other compeditors, it makes the tiem go faster because ur not worrying about how many laps u have, ya busy challenging the computer

I'm not sure what kind of Endurance Races will there be, but wouldn't be nice if they make this Endurance Races in a way that you go from one point to another, that you wouldnt see the same thing every lap.

I too am a major fan of enduros, and sincerely hope there are plenty on GT4. But I don't think that enduros will lend themselves to online play very well, simply because I think people will quit when they realise they are not going to win... If people are anything like me, they usually pick a car that they know should win before embarking on a 2 hour race (or if I'm feeling brave, I pick a car that will win provided I don't make any big mistakes...) Although I believe that the whole idea of GT is to race as opposed to merely winning, I think many an online enduro might suffer from drop-outs.

But if its possible to limit the BHP of entries (like in GT2), or otherwise stipulate what sort of cars you allow into your race, it would make for some exciting and long races, but you'd want to be pretty committed to keep playing after a few defeats...! :)

well they should have some endurances online where you all have the same car and the only thing you can put on ur car is racing tyres, then that will be a test of skill against ppl with the same car, see how u rank up against others

Now that's a good idea 👍

What enduros would I like to see? How about these:

- New York 2 Hours, no horsepower limit
- Fuji (new) 500 km, again, no horsepower limit
- Fuji (old) 500 km, 1980s cars only
- Grand Valley 300 km, 690 horsepower
- Infineon 250 miles, racing cars only
- Opera Paris 2 Hours, standard cars only (or Georges V if it can hold normal races)
- Special Stage Route 11, no horsepower limit
- Rome 50 Laps, standard cars only

And of course:

The Holy Grail: Nurburgring 1000km, with no horsepower limit

Hmmm...

Trial Mountain - 300km
Apricot Hill - 4hrs
Grand Valley - 500km
Nurb' - 1000km
Monaco - 3hrs

Maybe some circuit we haven't seen might be a good one too...

Dream Endurances maybe to be added some day...

Bathurst - 1000km
Spa - 24hrs (maybe 6 for PS2)
Le Mans - 24hrs (maybe 6 for PS2)

Oh yeah! I love endurances... the endless pursuit of the perfect lap...

Ooooh yeah, I forgot about Apricot Hill 💡 ... I'd make that a touring car-only event so that you can only race certain cars from the British BTCC, Australian V8, Japanese JGTC (but only GT350), American NASCAR and German DTM series (can't think of number 6). It would be great sort of "King of the Touring Cars" Event, one car from each of the six series - around the ultimate driver's track: Apricot Hill! :sly:

just a suggestion lethal chem have you got a steering wheel cause its quite satisfactory to clompete 2-3 hrs of driving and you do work up a bit of sweat even. you should invest in one if you havent already :)

Do you race?
The Holy Grail: Nurburgring 1000km, with no horsepower limit

I think the best we can hope for is Nurburgring 300km.... if you dig through the screen shots, you'll find one of a Skyline at the Nurb on lap 5/15... hence, 300 km... this, of course, could just be the normal 'Professional League' race at the Nurburgring :) , but something tells me it will probably be the enduro... on the other hand, the screenshot is also from B-Spec mode, so who is to say that we won't be able to make the races as long as we want...? :dopey:
