I would have been very surprised if Konami did't include any tuning at all. Did you ever seen any serious racing "SIM" without any tunung ?
I just called EB Boutique to cancel my preorder of GT4 and put that money on preordering Enthusia :dunce:

Interesting.....While I certainly plan on getting Enthusia, I see no reason to cancel my pre-order for GT4.

All right, I was just kidding. I preordered GT4 a looooooong time ago, and I'll preorder Enthusia next week-end.

Ha! I knew it! :sly: That's cool, I can understand the frustration in waiting and waiting for GT4 though.

I'm looking forward to see some reviews about Enthusia.
I rarely purchase any PS2 related mag, they are quite expensive imho and I prefer to use that money for purchasing games instead.
When I purchase a PS2 mag it's because a great racing game has been released. I don't like the official US PS2 mag very much, British and French PS2 mags generally give very detailed reviews of racing games ... but most games reviewd on the other side of the Pond don't make it here anyway.

the driving will of course stay the biggest part of the game. And when I have it, the only thing i'm gonna do is make that car so dirty with mud or snow or drifting down those mountaintracks. YEAH can't wait till august

yeah, but you have to look pretty closely. ;)

somebody's been rewatching it!

btw, what do you think of the CG? looks pretty cool to me, especially the part where the guy drifts the SLR into a tight corner. I love CG game intros.

Actually, I didn't rewatch it.. hehe. There's a guy on the IGN forums who's putting together a car list, based on screenshots and such (like the359 did for GT4), and I saw he added the Pantera to his list.. I asked him about it, and he pointed me to the video. THEN I watched it a few times, frame-by-frame, all that good stuff. :)

That's one of those cars that doesn't really mean much to most people.. but a while back, a friend of my dad's actually owned one. Sitting in that driver's seat, hearing that rumbling monster behind you.... oh, yeah... :D

I wasn't really critiquing the video, so I never really looked to see what was CG and what was in-game (these days it's getting harder to tell.. hehe).

As for other cars, I saw someone mention smart. Believe it or not, I'm looking forward to driving the smart fourtwo (aka the smart City Car). Not for racing, but just for giggles.... this is the car that won, hands-down, the Top Gear award for "Comedy Handling". The Stig turned the wheel, and nothing happened!!. It was the funniest damn thing.. he actually had to slam on the brakes and stop before the car drove straight off the track. The presenters were laughing their heads off... "It never even tried!!" I was hoping for it to be in GT4.. a trip around the 'Ring in that... oh, the hijinks that would ensue. But at least I get to give it a whirl in Enthusia. :)

This game will have a very realistic physics system but it won't help the game succeed.I have seen people play the game and it wasn't very good. Not in some online streaming movie but on TV.I know people won't believe me but i really don't care.Just wait and see.The worst thing was the sense of speed. It's horrible.GT3's sense of speed looks way better compared to this. 👎

so did they maliciously speed it up for the trailers? it looks blazing when you see the R8 speeding down a straight. I think I even noticed a blur at the edge of the screens.

If you read the interviews, they mention that there's a frame that shakes, blurs and moves depending on conditions. I think it's just a gimmick, or novelty, but we'll have to wait and see if it does any good.

Does anyone have any idea how many cars enthusia will have on the track at one time?

Just watching a video posted on here (you can download it here from IGN, it is the one featuring the R8 in the screen shot)

There are at least 8 on the track at the 6 second mark. The more the merrier i saw.

This game actually is all about driving. Unlike GT4, you can NOT go all out with power. Power is going to not be everything here.

Driving agressively and hitting the other drivers will get points deducted. Nothing new heh? Try this...NO points, means you're missing the next event, which could mean getting a new car or losing everything you worked for. This game is all about driving.

You can unlock parts so it seems there will be upgrades. Called Enthu Points, these will make the difference between your wanted cars and items or losing.

So, unlike GT4 where you can power all the way, its completely different. And hey! If you drive and win with a car with less horsepower than the pack, more points.

This game is all about driving. Not flat out win by all means.

My only question:
Wiill Enthusia included a basic feature the GT series lacked since version1: An inside or from the hood view ? instead of GT's trademark:these ridiculous 2 huge dials from the bumper view ( how can realisticaly someone sitting on the bumper be able to see the tachometer ? ) Mr. Yamauchi must have a very long neck in order to do that trick.
Just to avoid being labeled a "fanboy" : I preordered GT4.

In Japan, maybe.. there's been no announcement for a U.S. release.
The official Konami US website mentions "Spring 2005 " so it should be around March, except in the southern hemisphere where spring starts in September ( The Brasilian an Aussies will really get upset )

In all the GT games the camera is back where the driver would be and at height of the driver but to the center of the car. Not the bumper. Having unrealistic blind spots would even worse. WRC3 and 4 has one of the best cockpit views.

OK, then let's name GT serie view " A view where the driver is up on her/his feet just in the center of the bumper ".
The only point of view where you don't see anything but the asphalt is ... the bumper period. Of course the politically correct people will name that a " imaginary-pseudo inside view ".

Wrong, the camera position is correct as far has height and front to back, it is just centered from left to right. Put your front pumper to a wall and you should notice a considerable gap, this is where your bonnet would be but in the game it is not visible in first person mode.

This is the most accurate view I have seen in a racing game. If you places a frame infront of you when you are in your car that would represint the perspective of your TV/Monitor then this is what all should be visible.

& without a dashboard it would look a little weird :)
Yes, an without the left or right side of the car it looks even wierder.

And why to include a screen dump of WRC to prove a point about a feature ( or the lack of ) in GT1,2,3 and 4.

The GT zealots see a dashboard and 2 side pannels when none of that is visible in the real game.

To tell you the truth, Brazilians aren't going to get upset... The PlayStation 2 isn't even sold (officially) here! I have an american console and I'll get Enthusia as soon as it's released in USA.

This shows off unrealsitic blindspots and height.

gtr_27_1_2.jpg

C'mon GT blind fanboy, prove your point with screenshots from GT and not with some other games screenshot. Of course you are ashame to show a screen dump with just 2 lousy dials.

And if you can't reply my original question about Enthusia inside view, just say so instead of crawling in front of PD ( and here I'm polite ) and sayng amen to all their negative points

They do?!?!?! Firstly, WRC games (aint played 4 though tbh, can't see it breaking the trend though) are crap. Secondly, go play GTR.

This shows off unrealsitic blindspots and height.

you are aware you can alter it right? :dunce:

GTR's driver cam is the BEST, along side GPL's if you ask me. Both are utterly brilliant.
