TEAM / DRIVER / CAR
T1 = T2= T3= SF=

SPECIFIC RACE RULES- be sure to read everything!!
- The race will be done in endurance hall, Laguna seca 200 miles (THE RACE IS NOT 200 MILES LONG BUT A TIMED RACE)

- The race is a timed race of 1hr 45 minutes. Record your lap count after you cross the Start/finish at the end of 1hr 45 minutes. Also record your total time. To figure our your exact total time, lets say the total time says 1:45'32.222. You cross the finish line. The lap counter now says 76. You write that down. Now, look at your current lap time. If it is 1.343 subract that from 1:45'32.222 to get your exact time at the end of 76 laps/ 1:hr45 minutes.

- You may practice in the actual race. But, you may only practice until you pit, whether that be for fuel or tires. If you pit and continue on you MUST count your time. You are NOT allowed to run the race twice.

- Record your lap# (after you cross the SF) and time at the 40 minute, and 1hr 20 minute marks. Lets say the total time says 40'32.222. You cross the finish line. The lap counter now says 20. You write that down. Now, look at your current lap time. If it is 1.343 subract that from 40'32.222 to get your time at the end of 20 laps/ 40 minutes.

- Record your fastest lap

- Record all your split times on the first lap. Also record your time at the end of lap 1

- Record the lap numbers you pit on and tire compound. EX R2/R2 or R3/R3

- Reports of spins, contact is not required but will be accepted.

- Avoid unecessary contact with AI cars.

- SAVE YOUR RACE in case you forget to record a 40 minute time etc or there are questions of cheating.

- recording all your pit stops etc will make for a great race report to be posted in the Race report forum!

- You may run the race now but keep the results private and send them to me via PM. Dont share race times with anyone.

- QUALIFYING ENDS NOVEMBER 13, 2005 Monday

:boggled:

Enter as many qualifying times as you want between now and nov 13. This is done to keep things interesting. Sort of like a hot lap competition for 2 weeks .

Run the race and send me the requested info anytime between now and nov 14

Race results and a race report will be posted soon after nov 14

Ok. Now that I'm all clear on that, it's about time I start a pratice or qualification.

Thanks:)

Wahey, this looks to be great! I love the storyline part Earth!

How good are the Skyline Squadron Wingmen? Well we intend to win ;)

Can Pescarolo stop the Audis? I hope not!

Qualifying times up tonight, but I know I got a 1'12.XXX in the GT-R and a 1'08.000 in the R8 (room for improvement with both!)

Hmm, I've noticed what happens when you haven't played GT4 for 20 weeks (exactly 20 weeks, because I haven't played GT4 since WRS week 10). I really had to learn playing GT4 again, but after 1 hour of testing, I got my first 'better' time. I know I can pull off more, but thus far this is it:

Toyota Team / Sjenk / Toyota 7
T1: 17.675 ; T2: 34.440 ; T3: 53.255 ; SF: 1'11.747

I have no idea if this is a fast time for a Toyota 7 that is untouched. If not, I really have to do more than this ;p

Edit: I will test the GT car I chose soon, I think I won't be so far off pace in there ;)

OK, time for some opening bids -

Me driving the Nissan Skyline GT-R LM Race Car, the Skyline Squadron's first official time I got a 1'12.947 (below)
T1 --0'18.260
T2 --0'35.664
T3 --0'54.524
FINAL --1'12.947
but I realised I was not ballasted accordingly in that run, so I'll obviously need to redo that. There's a lot of room for improvement, so I might manage about the same again with ballast.

Update soon

now that I look closer: r8man, your Audi T3 time cannot be right. You lose 5 seconds in this sector and your final time is back to normal. Something is wrong there ;p

Here´s my testing times in the Gulf GT40 so far:

Gulf / JMS RACING / #14 GT40 (1969)
T1= 0'20.226
T2= 0'39.874
T3= 1'00.705

Final= 1'21.795

Ok, I improved my Toyota 7 time, I still have space left for improvement.

Toyota Team / Sjenk / Toyota 7
T1: 17.342 ; T2: 33.607 ; T3: 51.854 ; SF: 1'09.800

Did this with default Driving Aids, because my laptimes without ASM and low TCS is way off pace at the moment.

r8man has been contacted about this

As for qualifying DarkElite will update it on a webpage and I will post a link to it as soon as he is ready.

So continue to post your times. I won't update them in my first post but DarkElite will update it on the webpage when he's ready. The link to the webpage will be put in the first post when it's ready

Now I've got the ballast sorted out as required, I've got a new time for the Skyline GT-R LM

T1 - 0'18.448
T2 - 0'36.094
T3 - 0'55.075
SF - 1'13.861

There's a lot left in it as well, the first turn and the corkscrew are fairly slow on that lap but the rest is pretty good. My Audi R8 time needs a lot done to it so that'll be posted in due course :)

The one thing with my leaderboard is that I can't fit T-times in, so you'll probably have to refer to here if you want to see where you're losing time. Earth will put a link in the first post sometime soon I'd imagine.

EDIT - Oh... One more thing? Is the Toyota 7 being catagorised as LMP or Independant? I've got it up on the board as independant as I'm not sure, but it seems almost quick enough to be LMP so... Which is it? :dopey:

DE

LMP :) I won't stand a chance, but the Toyota 7 is catagorised as an LMP ;)

Edit: I now also did a long practice run with the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II and these are my times so far:

Ford Racing / Sjenk / Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II #59
T1: 18.741 ; T2: 36.462 ; T3: 55.370 ; SF: 1'14.311

Edit 2: I compared my lap with r8man's lap, weird differences:

T1: Sjenk 0.007(!) seconds faster
T2: r8man 1.189 seconds faster
T3: Sjenk 1.417 seconds faster
SF: r8man 0.040 seconds faster

Well, that means I have to put more effort into T2 and the final sector.

Ok here´s my final qualifying time for this round. I´ll take this as practice due to lack of time to get the car faster...

S1= 0'19.903
S2= 0'39.070
S3= 0'59.100

Final= 1'19.757

You forgot to update it with my Ford GT time ;)

Anyway, I managed to get faster with the Toyota 7. I still can put my laptime down with at least 0.5 seconds, but a second faster is possible as well.

Toyota Team / Sjenk / Toyota 7
T1: 17.252 ; T2: 33.332 ; T3: 51.840 ; SF: 1'09.483

I lost the 'lead' I had build up in T2 at the cork-screw.

Apologies... So much to do at the moment :crazy: but I knew I'd missed something! Thanks for the heads-up. Well done on upgrading your Seven time as well 👍

What speed are you doing at the end of the start-finish straight, out of interest? I'm just wondering if, even at a twisty circuit like Laguna, the Seven is handicapping you on outright power.

**Leaderboard Corrected** :p

DE

hehe, don't feel pushed by me ;)

Well, I'm still using all the driving aids (I still can't get used to 0 ASM after those months of retirement). At the Start/Finish line I switch from 4th to 5th gear, so that would be like 254 km/h (158 miles per hour) or something near that speed.

Edit 3: lol, you ask me how fast I go at the end of the straight :D ehm, let's see: somewhere between 295 and 300 km/h (183-186 mph)

Edit: Just wondering: Did you all drive with a custom set up already? I kept my 'I will not change any settings'-promise, so I would be interested in this.

Edit 2: Lol, look at my posts. From all posts I made so far in this thread, I edited them all but one :P

Dur guys I'm sorry about that. I looked back at the replay and saw that its supposed to be a 50.768

hehe, things like that can happen ;) But still, what have you done in the Corvette in sector 3? Were you sleeping? :P You lose so much in that single sector :)

Anyway, I said I would be able to get the Toyota 7 in the 1'08.xxx and I did it! :)

Toyota Team / Sjenk / Toyota 7
T1: 17.062 ; T2: 33.231 ; T3: 51.244 ; SF: 1'08.968

This time I lost like 0.450 in the last sector, I almost lost the car in the gravel.

Next goal: Get the Toyota in the low 1'08.xxx :)

what the heck.... man i must have been asleep..... :dunce:

i'll fix that ASAP as soon as i start up the PS2 again :)

Laguna Seca 200 miles doesnt require sports tires, at least not in the NTSC version

I'm pretty satisfied with my C60 time. 1'06.xxx is possible, and will most likely be the pole time, but I don't feel like trying to top it right now

1'13 is possible in the Ford GT but I'm struggling to get the car consistantly through the turns. One turn I'm loose, the next turn I'm tight. I think it may be setup but I quit with the 14.5 time after getting fusterated. The car is so much faster than that but I just can't get a consistant lap

Online leaderboard link is in the first post now, thanks to DarkElite

edit: one update to race rules:

- Record all your split times on the first lap. Also record your time at the end of lap 1

No need to pause every time you cross a split during the first lap. just save your race and watch the replay and do it then if you want.

Hehe, it will be a small victory for me if I will be faster in the end with the Ford than you ;) SuperStock vs Stock ;)

My third sector time for the corvette was actually 54.487 instead of the time i posted

BMW Motorsport / Mulsanne / BMW V12 LMR #15
T1= 16.773 / T2= 32.714 / T3= 50.182 / SF= 1'07.471

And then on the next lap, while going two-tenths faster, I lost it and stuffed the car into a tire barrier. So the BMW mechanics are hard at work, fixing the damage.

Edit: Most interesting part of the lap is Rainey Curve (left hand corner after the Corkscrew). I just touch the brakes and the car snaps sideways, so I drift through the corner, clipping the apex with the left front wheel. D1GP meets ALMS. :) Any ideas on how to fix this? I rather not have to do 1h45m of that.

Lower the front brake,take a wider line,and left foot brake some to settle the car.

New Ford GT LM Spec II time

T1 18.970
T2 36.564
T3 55.422

S/F 1'14.163

I'm having so much trouble getting through turns 4 and 5...I was 5-7 car lengths behind my 14.5 ghost through 4 and 5 during the 14.1 run. Closed the gap up with a near perfect second half run

edit: ran some practice laps in the race. traffic is going to be a VERY important part of this race.
