Indeed yes, but you do have to get the pole, and then hold it :p

There'd better be a followup

I hope the other drivers in the ESES will also submit some provisional times to make it even more interesting.

I don't know if I try it tonight (right here it's 23.49), but I will try tomorrow (also a busy day) or monday.

Okay, I was going to wait a while to post this, but after seeing some of the new times, I've just got to post it now.

After improving to a 1'07.243, I went back and changed the oil (793 to 834 hp) and cleaned the gravel out of the car, then went out and did:

BMW Motorsport / Mulsanne / BMW V12 LMR #15
T1: 16.536 / T2: 32.266 / T3: 49.599 / SF: 1'06.590

sorry too spoil the party... but after realising that i had been driving with bad oil...(HP down from 844 to 808) i too decided to change the oil and clean out the gravel.. and happened to produce:

T1: 16.564
T2: 32.289
T3: 49.459
Total: 1'06.351

and to be honest.. i can still logically see about 0.4secs left to improve by.
D.E.... get that pesky back on top again!

I too was un-aware that I had bad oil in my Zonda, and I'm sure there was alot of gravel in there too.

I'm working on setting this damn car up. I'm getting somewhere slowly, but I am kinda pressed for time right now. My times, which I don't have right now, are low 1'14s.

well i haven't produced any times yet, but bloody hell, i can't beat my 1'15'xxx time... pisses me off, i guess i'm not better a driver :(

Mulsanne, that's awesome! I never thought the BMW would hold up against us and the Frogs, but it has! Well done! Now I've gotta go beat you :p

ls2_297, I think you're emerging as the Rossi of qualification here 👍 we'll see if you can hold it up in the race, though! I'm off for some more practice. I need it! But... Even if I can't get you back, Earth's French front row is still gone unless he can top me :)

I don't intend to end up second.

Got a 1'16.744 in my 1969 Ford GT40 today, I'll hopefully be at 1'15 by the end of the week....hopefully....

omg come on LMP drivers, don't go any faster please :D This is getting annoying :p

Well, maybe I can find some time today, I doubt it though :/

ive done some race testing today... minor setting changes to help get better tyre wear... and have sorted out my race pace for the race.. might have another shot at the hot lap later on in the week.

Here is my official temporary lap time. 1'14.211. I don't have time to get the sectors ATM. I'll run this more when I get the time. :)

Well, after releasing his former Crew Chief & entire Pit crew and rebuilding his team with those who have had little or no prevoius 'pit crew' experience, SimRaceDriver finally was able to get out onto the track and see just how good his 'new crew' was and unsurprisingly, his T-Times show.

After only a few practice laps on soft racing tires, which by coincidence, was the only tires his pit crew was able to round up on such short notice, and due to other previous engagements, which did not result in any real sufficient time behind the wheel, his best lap trapped the following times:

T1: 19:827
T2: 38:574
T3: 58:464
Final: 1'18:274

So, as one would expect, SRD is going to need a wave of good luck to be even remotely competitive in the upcoming ESES event here at Laguna Seca!

Cheers!

Bentley Speed 8 '03

T1) 16.884
T2) 32.594
T3) 50.019

Total Time: 1'07.061

I left some time on the track, maybe .300

Well, I pushed the R8 a little bit further today... I can't remember exactly how far, something along the lines of a tenth faster than before, but there's maybe half a second lost in that lap for all to see, so it shouldn't be hard to get pole back again if I'm on form :)

It seems I've killed the GT drivers :p

The SKYLINE SQUADRON.... SMUTTNEYSPEARS......Nissan Skyline GT-R LM Race Car

T1 0'19.890....T2 0'38.533....T3 1'01.089
Full lap 1'20.528

Well.... after traveling to the track (which only took a few minutes....it's in my bedroom ), i then found my pit garage, unlocked the door, and took a look inside, only to find....Arrrrgghghh where's me car!! Then i thought, hang on, take a step back, so i did, and what did i find??? I was in TEAM NISSAN garage (whoops). I then procceded to then garage next door which had a nice big banner THE SKYLINE SQUADRON, and i was home. After chatting with my team mates about the weekends troubles, i decided i needed some practice. So i had the pit crew give my car a quick once over (QUICK???!! it took them HALF an hour!!!). "To the track!" i bellowed to the pit crew, as they pushed me backwards out of the garage. I fired up the MIGHTY NISSAN engine, which roared into life, stepped on the go faster peddle, and i was off, in a flurry of instant gear changes and smoke.
After a few warm up laps i decided this was the moment, and put peddle to the metal. There i was twisting into the curves, like a hoover around the furniture, blasting up the straights like a Harrier Jump Jet on an Aircraft Carrier into the skys.

After all this i had my times. i must admit that my skills are in need of practice...
a much faster time is PROMISED on that one. Its just that Dark Elite seems to have pinched the PIT CREW at the moment. PIT CREW HOG..... :grumpy:
There i said it.

You just spoiled my party. :) There's a string of expletives going through my head right now. What a lap. 👍 👍

Mulsanne pulls the seatbelts tighter, blips the trottle and prepares for another banzai run.

Smuttney
PIT CREW HOG.....
Alright, alright, the crew's all your until someone knocks me off pole :p

Well done Electric and Smuttney on your times 👍👍 What tyres are you on, smut?

Oh, bhawk776 I missed your Speed 8 time, we posted at almost the same time so I'll put that up too :)

No improvement yet to my R8 time, but I can just about see that Pescarolo in the distance... Hopefully he'll stop for a baguette and I'll be past

 By the looks of your times in that oldish car, if your seatbelt goes any tighter you'll be spliced at the middle :p

Well, I still didn't had time to play GT4, but I think I can do that tonight. I'll be focussing on the Ford GT qualification time (of course, what can I do with the Toyota 7 except for focussing on the race?).

Btw, if I look at the Skyline squadron leaderboard I see that smuttneyspears is quite fast, so I'm sure that he'll be faster than this :p

Sjenk, yep! I'm sure smuttney can catch us up, getting to grips with Laguna is a challenge in itself, never mind in such a fast car with good times already set! I'll agree that the Seven isn't much use elsewhere  maybe put it in the All Stars championship and see if you can win?

Some more qualification in my R8 is required, I see, so I'll be on that all night :p

DE

Dark Elite, I'm sure that I can smash the opposition in the All Stars Championship with the Toyota 7. I've heard many times that All Stars is easier than GTWC and I won the GTWC with the slower CLK-GTR (slower? Yes, the Toyota 7 can drive longer on it's tires, so I could use softer tires with the Toyota 7. I never actually did the championship in it (I did Hong Kong and smashed the opposition with almost one minute)).

If you want to read a report of the GTWC, I can suggest my GTWC report if you have some spare time left: Click

Huh... I've never driven the Seven, but maybe it's not that bad after all :p try it with 200lbs of ballast and R1s!

I can't see much difference between All Stars and GTWC, to be honest. I don't race the AI for competition, I do things like this for that! :D But I try not to do a race for less than 25 A-spec points.

I took out the R8 again today, but retired after ten or fifteen laps - I just can't drive properly today, so I'll have another go in the morning... I'm not staying off the front row, no way!

DE

I have never driven the All Stars championship so if you say that it's almost equal, I believe it's equal ;) Yeah, if I race against the AI I almost always use a car that is underpowered to see if I can win with a slower car. That's why I took the CLK-GTR to the GTWC. I was still too fast for them (at that moment I already had the Jaguar and the Nissan R89C. I did not use it because I knew after 2 test laps that I would not have fun at all when I would use those cars).

If I'm not doing things like the ESES I might do this one again with the McLaren (when I win that, thus far I never did one extreme event because I lost interest in GT4 after WRS week 10, when you had to do a fast lap at Infineon with the Superbird :/). Maybe I'll even try it with the Gillet Vertigo (never driven it, I don't know how much slower it is than the CLK-GTR).

I'd hate to have to do this but work just got busy again (was hoping it could wait till the end of the season) so I'm going to have to drop out :( Sorry Guys....Good Luck!

Ah that's a shame. Well, I hope that you'll be there when a new championship like this one will start.

I dont know if Iwill give my Q time another shot. Tryingt o run a hot lap at laguna over and over again is driving me crazy. turns 4 and 5 keep killing me lap after lap. this is such an untraditional racetrack its difficult for me to be consistant

I think I will concentrate on racesetup. maybe anothe q try here and there

Earth
I'm pretty satisfied with my C60 time. 1'06.xxx is possible, and will most likely be the pole time, but I don't feel like trying to top it right now

Did you lost your confidence?

r8man, that's a shame. I'll miss having a good driver like you in my pit crew :(
Champion Racing will not fall!

Sjenk, I agree with your CLK-GTR use, in fact that's what I used in the GTWC. And I intend to use it in the All Stars, but I may use the R8 to prepare for this race :)

Earth, I feel thy pain... It just takes so long to pick up your rhythm again, but I'm not going to stand down in third. No matter how much it takes, I will get back onto the first row! Maybe even pole :sly:
