How do you insert unusual characters into text (eg. characters found in Word, like sigma, square root sign)

Also, how do you super- or subscript text when posting?

Thanks

On the "unusual characters", you're probably best off using the Character Map, which is a part of your operating system. Find the character(s) you want in Character Map, then copy them to the clipboard and paste them into your post.

BTW, just to note that for "true" web-compatibility, you can use Unicode or hexadecimal (the former a bit easier to remember). For example, Ω turns into: Ω

👍 (Ooh, you learned something from me! I feel all good and mushy inside now.)
