i just ordered an x800gto AGP 256mb and a 430watt psu. i should be able to run fear on max details with AA and AF. :) the stuff should be here by tuesday or wednsday. i cant wait!!!!

What PSU you have before? Im running a 300watt PCU on my brand new X850 Pro, runs fine, and im also powering a extra fan.
 
300 watts. but i was scared my psu might not be enough. here's my system
AMD sempron 3000+, 768mb pc2700 ram, 50gig eide hd, and 9600xt currently. also 2 fans i think.
 
I think you should up to 400watts or 450watts. But who makes your current PSU and what model is it.

If you are talking to me. Here is my current PC and the settings that I understand when I go to "my computer" Here is also a screen shot. Keep in mind I listed my video card above. I also plan on getting a new pc with income taxes so if its better that I wait then that is fine too.
It is the HP Pavilion a500n
1 gb ram
AMD Athlon(tm) xp 2800+
2.08 ghz
Here is a screen shot of my PC stats. I bought this before I was into PC games. The only game it wont play in in the highest settings is FEAR.
 
i ordered a 430watt psu along with my videocard on christmas day... it should be here by today but for some reason the predicted time says december 30th...

Dont get too excited. So far I have not been able to do that in the game yet. Those are just scenes I have seen when I walk into certain rooms. I wish I could do that to people but so far I cant. It isnt even that bloody online at all. I thought you would shoot someone and blood would splatter all over the walls and stay.
The one really impressive part of this game is the AI. Most intelligent AI I have ever seen in any game ever on any system.

Seems to bo powering just right, how would i notice if i dont get enough power?

Any one with a HP should buy a new PSU and case, there PSU's are PSU's that do not use there full power. There knowen as a non true power PSU.
 
Not saying your is just saying people who own an HP. Should upgrade there PSU and Case.
 
i can run fear with most settings at high and some at medium. :) after i unlock the 4 extra pipelines on my x800gto i should get much better performance. :)

Do u guys with x8-- and above cards leave fastwrite on in smartgart? if i turn it off in smartgart then it kills my CPU score in Futuremark. w/ fastwrite i get 2700, without it i get 700 lol.

Great screens, Event!

One thing that annoys me a little, all the thumbnails stretch right accross the page. It doesn't do it in FF though.
 
i'm betting he's gonna say fraps.:) you can chose weather you want to save as bmp, jpg or something else i cant remember (gif?). you just press 1 button and it takes as many pics as you want.

FEAR. Press F8 and it sends the screens in bmp format to C:\docs and settings\all users\shared docs\monolith productions\FEAR. Then I used photoshop to batch save them as jpegs.

Okay. It makes life so much easier when the games have a built in screen capture system. I've tried fraps with some games before but it slows down the game too much when saving the shot.
