I assume those last shots are not touched up at all. Hmmm... looks pretty dang nice, especially in comparison to the consoles. Jealous am I

Since I can't find this game anywhere, I'm very tempted to just buy this off Steam as I'm pretty positive my PC can handle this if it can handle large GTR2 girds on near max-settings. I already have the G25 as well. :ouch:

I've seen it said that it is dwonload only for PC, because once you find out that the A.I. are basically not driving the course and are posting completely made up lap times, you might want to return the game, but you can't return a download !

Wouldn't surprise me, considering Codemasters track record recently..........

Does this game still have the brownish tinge? Some of the screens its there and others its not. I have only ran on Bahrain so I can't really tell.

I didn't notice it at Spa, Silverstone or Korea. Or at least, it wasn't noticeable that there was some brown filter applied. Probably depends a lot on TV too.

Looks just as good as many of the PC version shots on my PS3!

I don't get why the Ps3 shots posted back in the thread look so bad.... Specifically the ones in Melbourne.

I think, if I can be bothered to sort out my account, or even make a new one on these forums, i'll post some Screenies too.

Just thought i'd add my word that if you play the PS3 version at fairly realistic setting, like, 40% Race distance, (But No Fuel Sim) with every thing else hardest, the game plays perfectly.

I've yet to come across a bug, even with a busy pitstop.

Ignore the trolls (Mainly X360, Mostly PC) You WILL like this game, if you're not looking for trouble.

Let us know how the game runs for you. I'm running an Intel Core i3-350M and an Ati Mobility Radeon HD5730 and very interested in this game since my DFP still is in mint condition after all these years.

I do have a laptop though, but it handles Crysis very nicely.
Just FYI, I am running the game max (high/ultra) settings. No issues at all, even starting from the back of the pack. :)

Not done any proper tests or comparisons but its seems sharper to me plus some visual effects. Malaysia is unplayable in DX11 as you see many black squares flickering on screen. Bahrain, Melbourne, Singapore, China run great and only China shows a black square once a lap. Not done others yet.

I hope the DX11 patch comes soon then the lighting mods after that should look amazing.

The pics here look a lot better than what I see in motion on my PC for some reason :)
And the infamous CM "misty" lighting seems lot more obvious here.

Anybody willing to post pre and post lighting mod pics?

I love how it says "Modificated" reminds me of the skits that Frank Caliendo does to impersonate George Bush.

Edit....
Weird, just a sec ago T12's image post stated something to the effect "deep linking hurts our servers" or some such :odd:.

Yes, they caught me but I stole your resized pictures so everything is fine now.

Actually there was a previous second, who knew seconds could mean so much, where the full size image from vrnet (or w/e), did display correctly. NM it is all good now.

Still confused why CM hates my eyes so much.

Not liking the Melbourne mod. Too much colour saturation and other things. Monaco mod looks great though. Will have to change some parameters. I was following the mod and he used a Monza xml as a base I think.

Rain still has a browny look in the background and maybe the water drops on the lens seem altered or less quality than what I've seen before, probably not or maybe they change anyway.

Edit: Added some default pics.

Maybe people have different settings on the PS3, what are yours in the PS3 system menu?

I guess Maximums really, All the HD options, etc. I find that with many games, especially 720p ones, like MotorStorm, come out funny with the way the PS3 takes Screenies.

I feel they have less impact the further you take them from the original source. :indiff:
These photo's look a little better in the XMB but best during actual Gameplay!

Obviously the native resolution isn't as high as those with Supah Computahs!

I also noticed that in the PS3 version, depending on how fast the motions were when you paused the replay to take a picture,
(Which you do most of the time) an amount of directional blur is added, there are a few tricks to adjust the amount and get rid of it.

This is just the same pic as the other one, with tiny amounts of blur. Just thought i'd do a 'spot the difference for you Techy guys! :sly:

The lighting is just as good too, but I feel it looks better in these shots because of the cloudy weather complimenting Codies' grungey colour pallette.

Some of the more enviromental shots don't look as clean after upload, however. Might just be my monitor, looks better in XMB & Game.

Pitstop's look great, from replay angles anyway, brilliant animation, but the crew have a couple of sharp edges here & there...

f12010140.png

They decided to change my slightly damaged front wing in a routine stop for Primes too! No arguments there...

The Smoke is Nice when you leave the pits too. Though it isn't quite 'in' this shot.

I noticed that after this Williams had an offroad excursion,
(In which I was somewhat involved!) there appears to be some sort of crumple, perhaps there is some of that damage from GRID present in the engine?
I'm pretty sure it's not just funny lighting because I saw it from other angles too. I havn't seen this 'Deformation' come up since though. Which I guess is good, since it doesn't look right on Carbon Fibre. Not on my car either.

Ok, sorry for the length of this post, but it is just equal to my love of the game! This pic is the beggining of what led to my front wing damage.

I'll leave you with a couple of cool lighting pics, which were taken in sucession. (though there are more I havn't shown that I could use to make a sweet .GIF of the car flowing through a fast turn!)
I feel like they have a flavour to em'!

Even after all those I feel still cut short. Ah well. Another time! ;) I'll try to get some Multi-Car pics.

(BTW you guys I don't see what the problem is with Codies' brown hues.
Gives the game a real feel to it. SOUL! I feel it looks less realistic with the lighting mods and such.)

It's just much to much, but you can't get enough!!

This suggestion of yours ^ is for the PS3 version?

Yes, why? I just decided to do my first season that way. I can't remember where I posted that now :dunce:

I didn't go all out because I was worried about the Bugs, especially something specific about having Fuel Sim on. :nervous:
I'll sure my second season will be after a patch and will much more all-out! (Distance, Fuel)

But the set-up for career I have now really is Just right for the game. As long as you know what you're doing. I can definentely reccomend it to anyone ;)
