So, time again to vote for the best driver from the quite bland British GP and the quite unlucky Canadian GP.

7 days!

Impreza04
Alonso bores me
You'd be saying that about any driver that had won 6 of the first 9 races.

Alonso gets my vote. Even if the track doesn't suit him or the car, he finds a way to be at the front.

I voted Alonso, I regret it now, people say he bores them, what was Micheal like a few years ago then? Seasons without coming below the podium?

My vote goes for Alonso as well, seeing Fisi's performance on race I still believe his car is just a little bit better than Michael and Kimi's, but not enough to make him win that easily, he doesn't have the car supremacy that Ferrari had back on 2004. His driving skills are superior than anybody else by now.

I voted for Kimi. I think he has done a good job of over-performing in an under-performing car.

Again, Alonso. Someone tell me why I shouldn’t vote for him.

My vote goes to DC for his impressive performance during the Candian GP. He showed that it isn't just the top runners who can drive from the back of the grid and still get points at the end of the race, and in a car that doesn't have the performance of the Ferrari, Renault or Mercedes...

Ya I am a big fan of Schumi, who wouldnt? This young guy Alonso comes along by luck with a good car from Renault and all of a sudden hes a GOD. Well in 2005 rule changes killed Bridgestone which made Ferrari about 1 second off of the Renault pace. Otherwise it would have been another Ferrari sweep. I don't hate Alonso but I am just sick and tired of hearing how great he is. Lets see if McLaren stays the same and doesn't get competitive as they were in 1998-2000 lets see what Alonso does. Nobody seems to remember Mika Hakkinen or Damon Hill even Villeneuve. Schumi in 1994 remember that? BTW..Alonso did not run away with the championship last year either. Kimi was right on his a**.

Because Kimi had the faster car, but it was less reliable.

It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that he was heavily involved in developing the car since 2002, when Renault was mid-pack at best

When he signed there wasn’t a whole lot of certainty about whether the Renault F1 project would continue.

McLaren threw a lot of money at Alonso, and he took it. As was said by someone else in another thread, he would have been crazy not to take it, considering the political environment in the Renault F1 team at that time.
