What year is that? Is the engine detuned for lower revs?

That thing looks like the fastest brick on earth. I wonder how much downforce it was making.

Something makes me wanna call BS on the F1 engine. It may truely have one, but I've never heard of anything aside from an F1 car using one. They are just too expensive to put in a 190 when a lower tech turbo engine would probably be just as fast.

It sounds like the one in GT4. Haha. Didn't Renault make the F1 Van, though?

That was a one off from Renault themselves, using Williams' expertise.

Judd isn't a factory outfit, they've always sold customer engines, but mostly in the late 80s early 90s period, and in fact they power most of the vintage-ish F1 cars you see in the vintage F1 series... anyone with enough money can buy an F1 spec engine from them, or even an LMP spec engine.

It's entirely plausible this is an F1 spec V8 from the late 80s, you have to remember they weren't revving to 20,000 rpm back then.

Phwoar! That thing's more adhesive than a Uhu coated stick insect!

past 3 minutes there is a Merc, but its different to the original vid. In the original it sounds pretty damn F1ish but DAMN those cars are fast. lol

Maybe they'll start a new race category. Production cars with F1 engines.

It said "Judd V8," in the title, Which leads me to believe that it's a sports car design. of course, I don't follow any open-wheeled cars, so, I could be wrong.

That, and I couldn't see the video, just heard the sound.

Well that Merc looks to be a hillclimb car. The Judd V8 is well used throughout various European hillclimb series so i can't see why it wouldn't be Judd powered.

Independant club racers having been sticking F1 lumps in 'saloon' cars since the sixties.

Like this? I know it's not a saloon but it is a hillclimb car I saw a couple of years ago.

Yeah, just like that. The Judd unit is pretty reliable - especially since Hillclimbers only cover a handful of miles at every event. I think the Hillclimb version is probably based on the old F3000 unit.
