Oh,Good thing I waited to vote. If I had to choose either or, I would of gone with tcs.
There may be some tracks here where I may not want to use tcs. I'm no expert driver at controlling wheel spin.

update on qualifing time
T1 0'38.486
T2 1'11.689

good job:D
t1:38.171
t2:1.10.707

If they cant find the right balance for their car then what are they gonna do, say to hell with racing i'll come back when the car is handling how I want it? No, they get out there and they do it anyway.

The point that I am trying to make is that they at least have the chance to try and find the right balance for their car. So what if they don't? They at least have the chance to improve their times and control. Do you actually think that their cars are ready to race as soon as they're off the trailer and on the track? No, they take a few laps, analys it, and change the car accordingly. If they don't get the right balance by the race, yes, they race it anyway, but how many do you hear about that qualify and race well with a car that isn't balanced correctly? None, they sit in the back or middle of the pack depending on how many other teams screwed up and try to rack up as many laps as they can just to get the points. And as for the TCS being mandatory thing. That's just one more restriction that nobody needs. It just makes the rest of us without the fancy equipment and all that crap seem more talented. I'm putting down times in the 1:29's now with TCS on and a DS2 controller so there is nothing to b1tch about with it being unfair if the don't use it. As it is, I have never raced in arcade mode before, ever. And I've had the game since the day it hit shelves (was on the waiting list for 7 months), and I have over 3000 days into my second run at the game and over 15K on just one of my F1 cars. This is so hard to get used to for me as it is, nevermind making more restrictions for everyone else. Some of us might already be struggling to put down good times as it is, nevermind making it harder for even more. I only use TCS, it's the only way for me to make it around the track, but making it mandatory to everyone else isn't right. They went into this knowing what they could do with their cars and at what settings, just like I went into it thinking I could load my F1 car from my garage. Making it harder on them won't make it easier on the rest of us. And as for the tires wearing out, I've tested all of the compounds on various tracks and at Suzuka, (with my driving style) RSS will get you about two laps, RS will get you three, medium will get you four, and hard will get you five, the only way to make it on one stop was to go with RSH which gets me a little over six laps. But they do wear differently, for those of you who thought otherwise.

i have tested all the tires too,i get the same lap time with every compound tires, how come???

Oh, my lap times haven't changed, nor have the consistencies. But the tire wear itself is very dependant on the compound. I really can't tell the difference in the handling. I figured I'd go with the softest compound and work up from there getting used to the car, but I can't feel any difference at all.

I read the registration thread and it says the series is full.
Does that mean you will not take any other racers?
Just wondering, thanks

Geez peeps, the best time I have is 1 35.666, I think I have a curse to suck through this series now........

Hey racefan are we allowed to post the total times,or hint towards an idea of them?

GN+
Yeah, it's not showing.

Don't really know what to tell you bud. I'm not sure if you have to complete a certain amount of the game for it to be available.

If you want to know the total time, just take your fastest lap, multiply it by 12, and that won't be it...lolz

:sly: Did some laps last night. The Arcade Mode F1 car is very loose and in need of tuning  . Wish this was in GT mode.
Not sure why but the replay always show RM/RM for tires even though i had RSS's or RSH's on the car.
After many spins, drifting  and sand traps I'm starting to get the hang of this thing and making complete laps. Getting down into the low 40's at T1. Just need a little more time to break into the 39's. Qualifiing was never really my thing, so am concentrating on a good race.

GN+ - you need to at least have won 1 F1 car to have it show up. You can get one in the Nurb enduro race 24H. Just B-spec it w/ a good car (GTR - LM -easy win) and you will have one plus lots of credits. And in the Arcade Mode you will be able to choose from several color combo's. Good luck 👍

Hey, cool, at least now I know that requirement too. I was thinking that the F1 car was very tight, although I have experienced some drifting. It's a real pain in the balls though. Who gives a **** about a level playing field, it's the same as rookies vs. veterans, if you can't set up your car and you can't race then you're going to lose. Now, any dumb shmuck can get a good time by comparison, just take my laps times as an example. I've only been doing this for three days and with TCS and Auto Trans and only a DS2 controller, nothing fancy and yet my lap times are averaging in the 1:30.whatever's. I'd rather lose to someone better than me, than beat someone because we're on a level playing field. It blows.

Sorry, I didn't mean to swear.

I come to the conclusion that no matter what tire you select, the F1 runs on RM's. The option to select different tires is for all the other cars. With the F1 being that it can only run on RM's. It's just a small glitch that the option for different tires is there for the F1.

Edit: BTW, I'm with all you that would of liked GT mode with tunning and all. But oh well, make the best of it in arcade mode I guess.

Man this is hard. Im use to GT Mode and changing your settings, it seems more like real F1. I keep spinning out or going to wide in arcade mode. I tried being conservative, and I didn't have to pit until Lap 9. My times SUCKED tho, I think the best one was 1 41.xxx

on a level playing field if they beat you they are better

Yeah, take tuning away from Michael Shumacher and ask him about that afterwards. Everyone has different driving styles and putting everyone in equal cars doesn't make it a level playing field. When you can exploit the talents both in the garage and on the track, then it's a level playing field. Penalizing someone for winning a race isn't putting anyone on a level playing field either. So they're great at Suzuka, but what if you're naturally better at Midfield, but since they were penalized for winning another race, now you've beaten them when you normally wouldn't have, that sounds fair doesn't it. I've gotten about as good as I can with this car given the amount of time that I've put into the f#$%ing thing, but without being able to tune it, it's becoming nothing but frustrating. Simply put, if someone can compete in times against all these other guys after only three days of ever racing in arcade mode, then there is something wrong there. We'll see where I place and how valid this really is. Not to mention that while you might prefer your car loose and you've been racing your cars that way from day one, you'll be miles ahead of someone that's used to a tight car. But if you went to GT mode, you'd possibly be equal. The point is that this is not a level playing field at all, in any way shape or form. Personally, I hate sliding through corners, I love the taste of precision, and quite frankly I'm almost worried that doing this with this car is going to screw up everything I worked at to tune my car in GT mode to my likings. As an example for those of you that don't seem to get it, who here has raced the Formula GT tourney in A-spec mode, all the way through in GT mode? How did you do? And did you use the stock settings? I didn't, but I won all of the races without a hitch, they weren't even close, but had I used the stock settings, I don't think I would have won. Do you get it? Maybe if you jumped into your car at home and took it on a track you'd understand once you brought it back in and needed the suspension stiffened or the roll bars adjusted. But hey, everyone races the same right? That's why it's an equall playing field right? How about this, just for ****s and giggles, all of us guys that would prefer GT mode, hop in our F1 cars in our garages and burn off a few laps and see where we stack up, then for you guys that prefer Arcade mode, why don't you do it to. No body has any advantage over anybody, just you and your car. Then we'll really see who's better and who isn't. It's about understanding your car and the track together. Who's with me on this one?

How the hell did you get 9 laps out of a set of tires???

Whenever I'm testing with traffic and tires I can't get withing 3 seconds of my qualifying time. Is anyone else having the same issues?

Oh, I should mention that I cannot get withing three seconds even after I've cleared the traffic.

Alright, I've just submitted my times. Has anyone else?

Im still working on getting a clean consistant race, I cant seem to stop crashing and stuff lol

i can't wait the next race at le mans:D
and how are you guys doing????:)
good luck:tup:

Once all times have been submitted, are they going to be posted anywhere? I mean, it'll be nice to know what place we're in but also to know how much improvement we need would be good too.

I will tell you that I have found the easiest way to get through the AI right from the start is to immediately draft the car to your left, stay on the outside of the turn, brake late and as soon as you pass the third place car, dive to the inside of the turn and pass the two lead cars there. For some reason, they are always separated at that spot and the two lead cars always get into it pushing each other to the outside of the turn. Also, I would like to mention that when it comes to lapping the AI cars, it sucks. Is it just me or does it seem like no matter how well you are driving they always seem to be in the most inconvenient spot on the track to slow you down?

Le Mans will be a great example of why not to use tcs as you acceleration is slower, those back straights are gonna prolly hurt ur times (or atleast I'm expecting them to)
