Make TCS madatory?

Correct me if I'm wrong Geo, But racerfan would still need to have a AR max to get the replay in his PS2, then make the video of it. I don't think the device can make a video of his replay on the PC.

Yes it will actually. In fact, I can give you a link to a guy that posts his drifting videos online. So he can record his video to the device, upload it to the PC and post it on the internet or e-mail it directly to Racefan.

If you didn't cheat then you didn't cheat, no worries then. Just appears that no one else is close to your race lap times of 1:29, just looks suspicious. And the reason why he needs to prove his time is because I'm not the only one who is asking, "how?" But I imagine if he proves this week, we prolly wont need to do anymore replay verification with him. And just to add, if YIN was a truly GREAT driver, he would have absolutely NO problem qualifying into Div 1 in the wrs like the other guys who are the best in the world. Hope all works out.

Well, I would have to refute that. I am not saying that I am a great driver by any means. But I have accomplished many great feats in this series without any means of cheating in any way. If I'm pulling 1:30.xxx's in quallies and I've only been racing in arcade mode for all of four days, and I have no ranking anywhere what so ever. Then don't you think it's possible that he can be just that good. I don't mean to pick at anyone, but just because you are in some kind of division somewhere doesn't necessarily mean that you are the best. And furthermore, what if he's just that much more improved from the last time he raced in a ranking tourney? I honestly don't believe that we have any basis at all what so ever to accuse him of anything. If you'd really like, I'll keep plugging away at it myself despite my lack of patience, and I'm sure that eventually I'll get to those times as well. It's not a matter of who is and isn't a truely great driver, it's a matter of who's ever cared enough to find a way to get an sort of ranking anywhere. For me, this is not only my first time racing in arcade mode, but until just a couple weeks ago, I'd never even seen anything like this. And again, I'm not saying that I'm better than anyone, but after getting used to the car and perfecting me reflexes based on the handling as well as mastering the consistency, that a truely great driver would, I'm sure that it would be easy to pull off two seconds and get to his times.

i was so excited about the wrs series,i was gonna join as quick as possible,so i just try about 3 lap at the infineon sports course with the bmw m3 ,i didn't know video replays are not accepted,i orderd my max drive 3 weeks before,but they just send it to me on friday.that's why i wanna join some series that i can prove it with video replays,like this one.:)
 
Just to elaborate a little, I don't want any bad blood with anyone here. Anyone of you guys can be better then anyone at any given time. And all of you can be a great resource for someone like me just starting out in this stuff. And Jump Ace, you'd probably be one of the best resources for me, so I am not poking at you at all.
 
this whole thing seems to be getting a little heated. It is only the first race. Some people are fast or slow at different tracks. If Yin puts in a bunch more time than everyone else and he likes the track, why couldnt he be fast.

It seems like a good idea to me that we should maybe stop talking about the subject until at least the results are out. This seems like a lot of drama for an olr thread. Most of us are hear to have fun, get better, or maybe see how they stack up against others. Maybe Yin is an emerging alien.

^its a term for people that are really fast. So fast they have basically no competition.
I dont know how much I would like racing a true alien though...
 
Then the rankings would have to be intergallactic
 
I really have nothing against YIN whatsoever, this just seems to be suspicious you know? And if he proves his times great for him, I just am trying to look out for all of us and have a good series, and I hope I'm not coming off as an @4$$hole but I've raced in series' where there is one guy who wants to be "THE BEST EVER" and he will do anything to win, I just want to avoid that again. But hell if YIN is great, then YIN is great and so will the series 👍

I see racerfan has some new rules in the first post about time questioning. I like them, it will maybe help things from getting heated up.

Geo, I like that capture device. Probably will get one. Especialy if it will make a video just from the .max file.

Well, I'm not exactly sure how it works. I don't know if you have to plug it into the USB port or if you have to disconnect the Playstation from the TV and plug it into the device. But I'm trying to figure that out.
 
About YIN - the times he's posting are very fast indeed. It should really be considered a compliment to be asked for verification!

The OLR community is a fairly small world in truth, and it's very unusual for someone like YIN to come "out of nowhere" posting times that rival the very best like holl01 and his ilk. Verification is only a natural - and sometimes essential - part of what we do here and should not be cause for offence.
I can assure you though that posting times like that will continue to attract attention until you can silence all of us by posting a replay which supports your exceptional performance.
It's also nothing really to do with divisions in the WRS, it's just that when you race there regularly you get to know how you stack up against other racers and what constitutes an abnormally fast time. As you said, just because you haven't participated there doesn't of course mean you're NOT that fast, just that your times ARE abnormally fast and you should recognise that.

So anyway, it's good news that you've got a maxdrive on the way 👍 - hope you don't feel persecuted by this YIN, it's really nothing personal. Like I said, consider it a compliment!
 
A bit off topic but still kind of relevant. Is anyone else having trouble controlling the car in a spin or coming back onto the track after a sight seeing trip of grass or sand?
If I go wide on a right turn and go off I go to the track again and begin to spin clock wise. I have had a hard time changing this. Brakes dont do much for me a the throttle only speeds up the spin. Does anyone have any techniques?
 
Are you using TCS omeletts? I had to for this track. You have to know how to do good throttle control to race without TCS. Mostly meanning High hp cars.

If I wiped out. I'd just start over. It was very difficult for me to get 12 laps with no wipeouts. But yeah once you go off the track your pretty well done. Getting started again is just to time consuming.
 
I did over an hour of racing where I would start over after a mess up. I got so fed up I just made sure it was as clean as possible so I could get done. With that strategy I was able to make my hilarius time. My quali time is pretty good though.
Oh yeah I am using tcs

After Reading a few posts i think it is possible to get down into the high 20's on this track. It just takes a good drift in the right corners at high speed and you can make a second easy (The spoon area for 1)
I got into the 1'30.xxx's after 3 laps and i wasn't even that clean so faster times are achievable.
 
at the next race we can reduce the weight to the minimum,and the 1-3 finish at this race have to restrict power 3% or so,then i don't think anybody can cheat and dominate more than 3 race,and restrict power you can really feel the difference(at least 3 km/h slower top speed),i can't really fell the difference if you restrict 3% weight,how is it work for you guys????:)

1. TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT OR 12 AM TUESDAY MORNING IS THE DEADLINE FOR TIMES THAT MEANS THAT IF THE PM IS SENT AT 12:01 I WILL NOT COUNT YOU!!! I ONLY HAVE 10 TIMES SUBMITTED SO I CANT POST THE TIMES TILL THE DREADLINE PASSES.

2.THE TIMES WILL BE UP ON THIS THREAD BY 7:00AM EST on SEPT. 19(TOMORROW)

3. TCS WILL REMAIN YOUR CHOICE BECUASE I HAVE VOTED SO IF IT TIES I WILL LEAVE IT AS YOUR CHOICE
