I'm pretty sure the billion of copies pre-ordered of the Prologue alone has been enough of a feedback already for Kaz and his crew.

Newsflash, they've never given a damn about realism and they will never bother with visible damage, improved AI, clearer sound, decent online features, a bearable penalty system and all those elements that would make GT a true simulator and a far more enjoyable videoludical experience as long as the franchise keeps printing moneys at this rate.

At least half of the aforementioned elements of the game(play) have been cyclicly announced several times while each episode of GT was in production, just to end up being inexorably put on the sides right before the release every single damn time because apparently, even though the development team has been working for the largest publisher out there and on the most advanced entertaining systems on the market for the past decade, they kept being held back by misteryous and unspecified system limitations and/or unforgiving deadlines (then why couldn't they simply lower the details, the number of the cars on track or the sheer # of models in the game instead but I'm digressing), so I wouldn't get my hopes up if I was in a fan's shoes.

Kazunori Yamauchi is a friggin liar, and all of his pre-release PR'ish unsubstantial campaigning doesn't hold any credibility whatsoever anymore, wake up.

Besides, haven't you seen the reaction the fanboys (aka, 98% of this website population btw) showcased the day the F2007 was announced?

"OMFGAAHHSJKSFDBESTESTRACING SIMULATORANDFRANCHISEOFTHEHISTORYOFVIDEOGAMES!!!111one!1!"

Seriously though, with such an idiotic and hopelessly braindead audience, do you seriously feel like blaming them? I sure as hell don't.

Meh!.. Go play with your Xbox Forza Fanboy...

Actually I'm more of a Stunt Car Racer, Ferrari F355 Challenge, Daytona USA, Super Mario Kart and Papyrus fanboy, to each his own. I literally loved the first Gran Turismo, though.

Wow easy, he wasn't alone in criticising the monotony of the series up until GT4, even though it seems things have turned for the better with GT5 Prologue.

D.C He has 11 (12?) posts to his name as I type - 9 of those are putting down the GT series - Including calling 98% of the users on this site for "idiotic and hopelessly braindead" -

And you're telling ME to relax ?...

D.C can just **** off since he has NO interest in being here apart from the obvious trolling..

Not going to waste time on arguing with new members.
Then you're going to miss out on a lot of great discussions, and quite possibly the chance to learn something.

Your loss, not ours. If you think just being here for 2 years makes you special, you should really think again.

UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN DRIVING AN F1 CAR YOU ARE RIGHT BUT I DON'T THINK SO! UNLESS YOU ARE A GAME DEVELOPER YOU ARE RIGHT BUT I DON'T THINK SO! I WATCH FORMULA ONE SINCE THE SEVENTIES AND I HAVE BEEN PLAYING ALL F1 GAMES! THEY MIGHT NOT BE SPOT ON, BUT HELL DOES GT5 P COME DAMN CLOSE! SO JUST BE HAPPY IF NOT GO CREATE YOUR OWN GAME AND LETUS KNOW HOW IT GOES!

THESE DAYS YOU CAN't PLEASE ANYONE! JUST ENJOY A DAMN GOOD RACING GAME AND PASS ALONG A CONGRATS TO ALL THE HARD WORK THEY HAVE DONE TO MAKE THIS GAME FOR YOU AND REMEMBER IT IS STILL A DEMO BETA PHASE!

:ouch:

First off, my pseudonym is "C.D", imbecile. I might've posted less than some of the forum-whores around here and generally I refrain from doing it unless I got something interesting to say, unlike you, however I'm a long time lurker on these boards, I have probably signed-up back in 2005 or "06, unless I'm mistaken and have been a pretty loyal reader since. It's just that the level of retarded opinionistic bandwagonism has gotten out of hand since the release of GT5p.

In second instance I've been reviewing videogames for a living since mid 90's and this website (fanboysm aside) is one of the best sources of info about GT and its spin-off's on the web, by a long shot too, so I have just as much business as you on these pages. Regardless, your posts haven't added anything relevant to the original topic either so you shouldn't be the one calling people out to begin with. Ergo, shut the hell up already.

Furthermore...

You're still an R'tard all the same....

And obviously you didn't..

Such a witty retort, I'm sincerely enthralled by your dialectical refutation of the (rather solid, I dare say) points I've been bringing to the table to back up my apparently biased mindset.

I'm not purposelessly casting aspersion on your fanboysm for the hell of it, nor am I promoting my own, I'm just pointing out what should've been done with the franchise since the 2nd episode but hasn't because PD is a bunch of overly paid, typically traditionalistic, bigot, lazyass JP's whose game has been unjustifiedly overhyped to the fk'ing moon and back and whose dicks have been ridden to death for no apparent reason (aside from fuelling pointless console wars) by the mind-numbed fanatic likes of thee.

This is why we can't have nice things, as the wise 4channer would say, it might make too much sense for you to grasp such a concept all at once though, therefore disregard my premise if you must, however if you're willing to think outside the box about it (just a little, come on), we'd have a much better GT by now if people had been a tad more critic toward the series throughout the years instead of getting dispiritedly brainwashed by a combination of arcade'ish gameplay, pompously unreliable press releases made in $ony and mesmerizing graphics in addition to the plethora of winking licenses, which, basically are the only things the game has to offer as of now because everything else is sheer vapourware as far as electronic entertainment goes.

Everyone and their moms seem happy though, so perhaps it's just me, who knows.

Anyhow, might want to devote some of the time wasted on GT5p to improving your intarnetz arguing and english skill (and your mannerism too, while you're at it), bro. Kids these days.

umm.. Is that bit harsh?
Are you being sarcastic or truthful?
Because I consider PD to be one of the best game making company. They put so much quality into their games. Gran Turismo is not only game they make so they don't have time for everything they do.

Yeah you're right. Altho I may be here for two years, I took a year off when I first sing on.
Well it just got me lil mad since I see many new comers complain about game thats only a Prologue and not full. Sorry if I sounded like a dushbag or whatever you call it :O

Their games are magnificient under nearly every aspect, a true automotive enthusiast digitally delivered Disneyland but they're boring as heck in the long run (no pun intended).

Tweaking and fixing the online competitions (which is what should stick out in the "to-do" list and take priority over stuff like adding the 3000th car, at this stage of the development process) would fix more than half of the series problems at once, I'd buy another PS3 and 4 more copies of the game if we could have private races, damage and a half-decent penalty system. Endless motoristic entertainment would most likely ensue.

Apparently it's in the works (online wise that is), and we're likely to see those features within the next few weeks/months in Prologue. Damage is a touchy subject and I doubt we'll hear anything about that until much closer to GT5's release date, and the penalty system I feel is a step behind TOCA's - which came out a few years ago.

I'm not a GT fanboy (far from it, as some know), and I read with interest the first few posts and the input given by ScotRacer about what isn't right about the F2007. And I hope: a) that someone at PD reads it; b) that they fix what isn't right, either in future upgrades of GT5P, or - if not possible earlier - in the full GT5.

But keep in mind that what we're talking about is a "Prologue" game. It's useful to us players because GT5 isn't ready yet, and I'm sure it'll be useful to PD because - if they're wise - they'll get the chance to listen to the feedback provided by the fans.

Consider yourselves "paying beta testers" (if you don't want to be one, don't buy Prologue, just wait for GT5). And do what ScotRacer did, meaning, write what you think is wrong, or just overlooked.

I don't have the game yet, but just by reading all the threads in this forum (something I've been doing every day since GT5P (jp) was released) I know that my main concern has shifted from physics (it was what I liked less in GT4) to online play. And that - to me - is still good news.

Just my "two cents". I'll now go back to reading.

Didn't KY say there'll be damage in GT5P in an autumn update?

That's interesting, I haven't read that 👍

I agree, this game will hopefully be useful to PD in the long run in development for GT5.

Why complain about Online play?
ITS a PROLOGUE, not a full game. We are lucky to get our hand on a SUPERCHARGED demo before the FULL GT5 release next year. WE are lucky to even have an online events mode.

PD says that there will be an update to expand ONLINE play, and damage. You sounds like a kid with a lolly pop before dinner that wants more candy.

Why complain about Online play?

Because it's far from perfect?

True, and they (PD) have the opportunity to know what we think about it.

PD says that there will be an update to expand ONLINE play, and damage.

That doesn't mean we can't tell them - as consumers of their product - what we want. Can they deliver? Don't know, but I hope they can.[/QUOTE]

You sounds like a kid with a lolly pop before dinner that wants more candy.

That was totally uncalled, and unjust, considering what he wrote in his last post (that he would buy another PS3 and 4 more copies of the game "if we could have private races, damage and a half-decent penalty system" ).

They're all very reasonable wishes for GT5, and the only unreasonable thing he wrote concerned wanting so many copies of the game. I think 2 PS3 and 2 copies of GT5 will be more than enough for me. lol.

I agree, we can talk about mistakes and whats good and whats not. But we don't have to whine about it.

he he he, this is gtplanet and hopefully you know what the "GT" in gtplanet stands for. So you can't blame us folks for being fanboys. "braindead"? that's no news at least for me :) bwahaha. Idiotic? ha, just because you think the same as my wife does not make you right.

OK, boys, it's time to either play nice, or put each other on your Ignore lists.

Frankly, you're both acting like bratty 9-year-olds. Knock it off, now, or I'll knock it off for you.

The good thing is we know that they will continue to update everything to make it better, it's only a matter of time.

<snip a badly composed insult>
If you think you can get me to respond in great length about your perfectly formed, yet hollow insult, you are sorely mistaken my young friend. Believe me, a door would pay more attention to your inane ramblings...

But my opinion stands - you're still an r'tard in my book.

Signed up in 2005 - Pah!.

Is it just me but the F2007 doesn't have 900 degree wheel rotation?

I downloaded Comatosed game save with the F2007 and the wheel resistance for ther F2007 is cranked up something fierce, there is no way I could turn the wheel any more than 360 degrees if I tried unlike any other car in the game. Also once you get over 330kmph the wheel shakes like an earthquake so much so that I have only and will only ever race Daytona in the F2007 once. Is everyone else with a G25 experiencing the shaking wheel with the F2007 at 330kmph plus?

No racing car I've ever seen has 900 Degree wheel rotation. That's strictly a road car thing.

Oh yeah, that's the most odd thing about it. It's really annoying on Daytona or the front-straight on Suzuka...the thing just goes mental! The steering may feel like you can't go 900 degrees but if you go slow/stop and turn the full 900 you will see the wheels turn all the way to lock. It means you basically have to push-pull around Eiger and London, which isn't exactly the best thing to have to do :scared:

I am not here to complain, just to give my input on what can be improved -- I want this game to be as awesome as possible. I'm glad some people are concurring with the issues I have with the F2007. I really need a Polyphony email address but I can't find one :(

Im up for it as well.
I'm waiting for US version to come out. I am also bit mad about 900 degree F1 car. Can't PD send out a TINY patch to fix it?

Ok, I've made a rough draft of an email to PD:

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue: Ferrari F2007 feedback

I’ve made this list to help, you, the developer create an improved Formula One simulation and to make this game the king of racing simulations, once more.

Aesthetic

*Wheel covers missing off front and rear wheels
*Glitch in steering wheel LCD screen – road markings can be seen through it

Audio

*Exterior audio has distinctive echo effect
*Backfire samples missing as well as traction control sounds

Physics/Gameplay

*Tyre compounds for simulation are unspecified
*Top speed of car embellished. When maximum downforce is applied, the car is still capable of over 210mph/338kph without drafting effects
*Output of engine questionable (687BHP is too low)
*Cornering characteristics questionable – if you exceed the lateral load limit, the car twitches but maintains line and speed around the corner
*If throttle is lifted during a corner (at speed) the throttle remains on and can actually accelerate the car when engine braking and aerodynamic drag should be slowing the car – this negates minute throttle adjustments
*Traction seems exaggerated – even when using N1 tyres, full throttle can be applied in 2nd gear without any wheel-spin occurring
*When using manual, the game engine limits the rate at which you can downshift meaning you are still downshifting when you should be accelerating again (most notable at the Casino Triangle on Suzuka)
*Unable to switch from 900 degree steering when using Logitech steering wheels (I use Logitech G25)

If there is anything else that people have issues with, please let me know so I can add to the list.

How about Seeing your Speed and other aspects on the LCD?

These as well, could be good for other cars as well.
-Turn to Apex
Most PC games have it, When you turn the wheel, In cockpit your head moves with the wheel. It would be a good setting from 0-10

-Simulate more G-force effects when in cockpit view.
When making a turn with lets say 2, 3 Gs I want to see had movement to be more violent, and as well when going over bumps, top speed etc. Also 0-10 setting for users.
