F2007 quandary

So are you going to Send them in email? I think there is or are member/s from PD that visit these forums.
It would be good that they introduce them self and make a thread for User Ideas and Suggestions.

I am hoping to email them but it is near impossible to find the email address.
I will tell you that PD will categorically deny visiting here and they will never respond to an email (if you can find one) other than to say "we never respond to emails and do not accept suggestions".

That's because if someone makes a suggestion to them, and it appears in the game, they open themselves to a lawsuit from whoever made the suggestion. Even if they came up with the idea themselves, long before, they would still have to prove it in court.

So don't bother with petitions, emails, etc. Just post here, celarly and professionally. If PD has agents who read this site, then they will hopefully get the message. That's the best you can hope for.
 
So F2007 and G25, can you enable clutch? Work with H shifter? Or like real life only sequential?
 
OK, people. F2007 is just EXTRA. a gift to the fans. I could easily believe that its never meant to be as accurate as other cars. It's there for some fun and nothing more.
 
Erm... Maybe the difference between the real and GT5p horsepower of the F2007 is down to where the power is measured? I mean, is it power at the wheels, or power at the flywheel? A 50bhp or so loss isn't impossible through the transmission efficiency loss, surely?

Then again there was that really annoying 'difference of opinion' about a car's BHP in GT4, With the dealership blurb, spec sheet, home garage blurb, car list and replay data all listing a car's power differently. For example, it would say in the dealership a car had 300bhp, then you press X on the 'buy' button to get the spec list and it would say, i dunno, 312bhp. Then in the home car list if you made it show you the BHP of the car it would be 294, then if you pressed X on it it would be 300bhp again, then when you watch a replay I'm pretty sure it said 'Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR' (or whatever, I realise an Evo VIII MR has more than 300bhp) then it's horsepower, and it would be something completely different again. Maybe the same is going on here?
 
Ok, new patch came out. Is the HP fixed now?
By the way. Maybe F1 standard power is that power in game, and all you need to do is to crank it up to the limits.
Lets say maybe the Ferrari team build a F1 engine with 680 BHP, but the regulations state that for this year you can have around 750 BHP. So maybe PD did the same, they put standard amount of HP so then you can TUNE and TWEAK your F1 car to regulations if you like to.. anyone thinks so?

No the power is still the same as before, as are all the other faults with the car (throttle remaining on when turning and Top speed).

The F1 regulations state that the cars must be 2.4 litre V8s @ 90 degrees w/ 4 valves per cylinder. There are some other small things specified but no where is the power restricted -- it's purely down to what the engineers could get out of the engine during the one-year development cycle they had (Engine development of the 2.4 V8 was unrestricted through 2006 and was then strictly limited in 2007 then completely stopped for 2008 -- the engines are now frozen). So at the start of 2006 they were reporting a 20% drop in power from the 3 litre V10s of 2005 (which ranged from 940BHP of the Toyota up to approximately 1000BHP of the Honda) so that means using 940BHP it works out at about 750BHP for the start of the 2006 season. This figure is a little inflated as they were Renault and Ferrari were reporting about 720-740BHP. During the year (F1 engine development is very fast) they gained roughly 60BHP on top of that, with the most powerful engines reaching 780+BHP @ > 20,000rpm. At the end of 2006 (the Italian Grand Prix was the last race before homologation) the engines were limited to 19,000rpm so the engines had to be tweaked for this. During 2007 things like intake and exhaust geometry was adjustable therefore a LITTLE more power was gained so roughly the same power as the end of 2006. Therefore, the F2007 should be somewhere between 760BHP and 780BHP (depending on what time of year they used as their benchmark).

From next year KERS (Kinematic Energy Recovery Systems) will be implemented bringing power up by around 80-90BHP, bringing the cars roughly in-line with what they had during 2003-2004. Good times!
