I wonder if you have to purchase Fallout 4 off the Xbox Store, or if you just have to have the game on your hard drive? Because I'm going to be purchasing it from my local store, and the Rocket car would be pretty cool to have

Perhaps it'll be modeled on a heavily modified Chrysler owned by a third party to get a handling and engine profile.

This sort of marketing rubbish can do one. There's so many manufacturers they could work with as they have with Honda in the past, and provide real world cars for marketing purposes.

Supplies!

Very dissapointed, this is why I hate surprises especially when told to wait for something special. Even if I were to buy Fallout 4 I would not download this fantasy car. Forza is a sim, Turn 10 should just focus on creating and maintaining this illusion of reality. This would only kill that sense of immersion for me, I think it would have been more appropriate to give this car in Horizon 2 which is already arcadey and it would not seem that much out of place there.

Nope it's based on one of the 'old world' cars in fallout. A pre war car to say. It's entirely devised out of the rocket craze during the 50s. The fallout world is one that says the 50s styling and mindsets continued on much farther than it actually did.

Forza is isn't a sim. This car is a add on and has no meaning in terms of the actual game. Why are you so anti consumer?

I gotta ask, why the Ford F100? Does it have significance to Fo4? Is it a easter egg? Did they purposely give us the slowest themed car they could think of? Or they'ye trying to continue their little alliteration they got going on? Fallout Four Ford F100?

I gotta ask, why the Ford F100?
Considering the post-apocalyptic 1950s-influenced look of Fallout 4, the F100 seems like one of the more likely cars one would come across in that game.

Would you care to elaborate why it's odd to say so? After all, Forza 6 isn't Fallout 4.
I personally wouldn't have chosen to include them, but they have already set precedent for it with the Halo Warthog in FM4.

I suppose it isn't odd to say but it is a bit late.

I was thinking: there is the possibility that the reason we're getting the Chryslus only in 2016 (which still is, I believe, 53 years early) is because Bethesda has commissioned the building of a prop of sorts for the promotion of Fallout 4, and that'll be the car that will find its way in FM6.

That, or we're getting an honest-to-God nuclear-powered car. Which as I already stated, is an awesome thing IMHO.

(Hopefully in that case it will be somehow excluded from taking part in public online races, tho)

I'm nowhere near as upset as half the internet (it seems).

The F100s... eh, they are like the Halo Mustangs. I spend 30 secs in Vista looking them over. If I wanted that car, I'd already have it.

The Rocket '69 will be a curio car, it wont be usable in career mode, you'll see it sporadically in multiplayer. I'm of the opinion they should have done it earlier. The Halo Warthog should have been driveable.

I'm under no illusions that this game with fantasy tracks should have fantasy cars.

Why isn't Forza a sim? Does it have to have dull graphics and run on PC to be considered one? It tries to faithfully recreate cars and their behaviours when being driven and simulate all of this. Obviously it has some limitations just like any other one on the market but it is still a sim in my view. As far as the car goes I already expressed why I think it is a bad move to have it in the game, I am aware it will not stop Turn 10 from including it in the game but I just wanted to voice my opinion. It is not about being "anti consumer", it just feels out of place that's all.

Edit: Typo.

People are so caught up on terms and allegiences.

Forza is a simulator. Is it a good simulator? That is worthy of debate.

I trust people like ISRTV (Darren Gangi and John Sable) who declare it to be a simulator over someone on the internet.

If we have a line continuum with say Need for Speed 2015 on one end and say Grand Prix Legends 1998 on the other, Forza is well over on the GPL side.

It's quite fitting that this is brought up in a thread about marketing. The whole game is Microsoft's marketing dollars hard at work. If T10 were independent, I'm sure this game would be a lot more sim than it is. A lot of how it's structured is because MS market it as a game for everyone.

I dont have a problem with Microsoft tying Forza in with its other IP.

Prediction: we will get Crackdown and maybe even Rare IP liveries.

Thing is the true simulator market is stagnant. They dont really care about us which is fine. They know we aint going anywhere and we aint growing. They want to expand their audience to a more casual one.

That's the way of the world.

My expectation is that the venn diagram for Fallout and Forza fans on Xbox isnt as big as they think, but hey, they gotta try... marketroids gotta market.

Cool idea and all, but Fallout 4 is out next week, if this was meant to sway anyone's decision for which console they are buying Fallout 4 for, they cut it too close to launch. Lot's of people pre-ordered the game well in advance of launch. Including me for the PS4. Shame.

Fantasy tracks are one thing, they are just somewhere to race. Fantasy vehicles are an entirely different thing. I just hope that T10 are not opening Pandora's box here.

Surely the fantasy cars in GT6 have been very popular, I don't see why there wouldn't be plenty of FM6 players who like this car? Who's to say that the "real" cars are any more accurate for the large part... plenty of contributors to this site and others have suggested over the years that some aren't at all realistic.

It comes down to self-censorship, really. No like no play.

Well, they already had declared other things that might sway a decision, like the declared MOD support on xbox,
and the free digital fallout3 back-compatible version.
So this exclusive car comes on top of already known offers as a last week extra-sweetener.

(controller alone is a reason for me to play this on xbox instead of ps4, not even taking in consideration that I'm waiting my elite controller order)

I honestly didn't know about the mod support. Well hmm maybe I can get my money back for the PS4 pre-order.

So this is the big November surprise huh?

That's dissapointing.

As I have no interest in buying or playing Fallout 4, I guess I will never get this car.

Just like I will never get Does charger as I have no interest in purchasing the Fast and Furious movie.

...and on PS4. It won't be available for either at game launch though.
mod tool will be out december on pc and xbox support will come soon after that.
ps4 support will come some time down the road, not when xbox support starts

Yes, not solely for XB1 as you implied ;)

On the whole this cross-seeding of game bonuses is getting a little annoying, it's another face of the whole Game Rewards system that Microsoft in particular seem to be shoving down our collective throats at the moment, imo.

fact is that there will be something like a time exclusive period for mod support on consoles in favor of xbox.
plus the other two console exclusive thingies, the Fallout3 digital copy and the Forza6 car.

I dont know why you say it like its a bad thing. If I want to buy the game on a console -and if I have both of them, there's a few extras that maybe worth my purchase preference. or maybe not. its subjective as usual.
but however the scale tips, its not a bad thing.
In fact I'd like microsoft to ..persuade me to buy stuff like crackdown, gears 4, recore, quantum break etc by throwing some sweet cars into the mix :D

I think if MS didn't support them we wouldn't even have a Forza 6. It dosent really sell knock out numbers so it would probably have way less cars as well. Microsoft does excellent negotiations with the car companies

If you try to change "anything" on the truck cosmetically, the paint job goes away without recovery, oh well.

That's been true of every car with a locked, gifted livery for as long as I can remember. Only unlocked designs (basically anything you make yourself) can be modified.
