I used two guns exclusively in NV, the .45-70 rifle and the lever action shotgun. With hand loads, that .45-70 rifle could mutilate a deathclaw in just a few well placed shots. The lever shotgun with slugs was also a cannon.

...:O I was more of spray-and-pray kinda guy. In FO3, I always tried to find a 10mm Submachine gun as soon as I started a game. Then moved onto the Chinese assault rifles, occasionally dabbled with a combat shotgun now and then....
In NV, hell, you could get a 9mm sub right off the bat if you built your character correctly, so I always used that early in game. Shooting in FO is really finicky and trying to line up a good shot was always a bit risky, at least for me.

...Imagine me when I got my hands on Light machine gun for the first time......:mischievous:...👍👍

For me I mostly used the 9mm pistol for a majority of the storyline and when
I killed Benny

I took his gun and used it for a while. Also acquired a .44 that I used ALOT!

For me in Fallout 3 I used the silenced assault rifle from The Pitt add on, in NV cannot remember the name but it was an M1 Garand. Took over Vegas with that weapon wiping out anyone in my way, then the legion till eventually I ruled the world.
Sorry, forgot my medicine again.

That weapon was called This Machine.

Talking about the weapons used in previous Fallout's... in NV I have stored around 30 or 40 C4's, 100+ frag. grenades, probably 10 Anti Materiel Rifle, dozens of SMG (9mm, 10mm, 12.7mm, and unique weapons), tons of shotguns, tons melee weapons... Well, I have an armory in the lucky 38, and there are so many weapons, I needed to split them into categories (One handed guns, two handed guns, explosives and melee, energy weapons). In terms of clothing... 4 lockers full of them, also split in categories. :D

I wish they would implement in the game something like the mod Wasteland Defense. The ability to create some kind of fortress, that you could hire guards or even the companions that are not following you.

Other thing, which was mentioned above, the ability to crate a faction. I wouldn't say a faction like NCR or Great Khans, but something like the Republic of Dave from fallout 3.

Yup, that's the one. Couldn't mod it, but no one challenged my dominance.

That was me about a faction, I don't always like to pick a side, I want my side and take everyone on.
I think the weapon from The Pitt was called the Eliminator or something, loved that weapon.

In F3 I used a wide variety of weapons depending on the ammo I had. But I used this gun a LOT. The Rock-It launcher that shot out junk. :D A shame it was not in NV.

Remembered the name of the weapon from The Pitt, The perforator. Not the deadliest but silent, decent mag size and accurate.

My main weapon of choice in F3 was the Xualong Assault Rifle. Great gun that thing was. My two 'secondary' weapons were the Lincoln Repeater (ammo was hard to find) and the Alien Disintegrator (Plenty of ammo due to Mothership Zeta).

...Yeah, Lincoln rifle was pretty bad ass. But never really liked those alien pew pew guns. They looked too puny for my taste...

I assume with the Brotherhood of steel around we'll be able to wear body armour, or more specifically the T-45b which never wore out, I like to have an edge.

After trudging through the rather awful DLC to get it, I used this exclusively in F3. It's an absolute beast.

I forgot about this machine. I used that quite a bit in NV. I'm the type of player that likes moderately fast firing, heavy hitting weapons. Semi-auto large caliber stuff. This goes for real life too. :)

Oh man, I've spent so many great hours in the Fallout Universe. I bought the Sierra Madre Casino DLC just so I could put my follower Cass in that slutty red dress.

Also, who can forget the awesome power of Archimedes II??

Premiere Trailer Analysis by Yongyea's Channel:

I think his speculation is a little out there at some points, but overall a pretty good analysis. I'm not totally sold on the "seamless" worlds yet, but it would be nice. A far bigger tell of that for me compared to the empty house (remember there were a ton of empty houses you could explore in 3 and NV without loading a new region) is the fact that the garage itself is open. This is presumably the protag's base of operations, and never has a Fallout game had this operate seamlessly from the rest of the game world...it's just sitting there open. Of course this could easily be trailer magic, which is why I'm reserving judgement.

I don't think the Mother/Father/Child are the protaganist, it seems pretty clear that they are vaporized in the trailer.

It does seem that this is the most "rebuilt" region we've seen yet in a fallout game. Perhaps the Enclave/Institute has been able to start civilization over again, but there must be something sinister going on to enable it.

Voicing the main character is a very risky move. Part of what makes previous Bethesda games so brilliant is the players ability to project their own character, attitudes, and emotions onto the blank character via their imagination. A voice will absolutely convey some sort of character, attitude, and emotion just in the delivery, even if many options and choices are given. It could be weaker for it. I didn't mind the text dialogue of the previous games. We'll see what they've come up with, Bethesda are the experts.

WHAT IF WE PLAY AS THE DOG?

A lot of what Yong is saying is based on the alleged leaked Kotaku script that was proven false at the time, and to be a bit honest here, I don't really blame him for referring to it. If you view his Metal Gear Solid V analysis, he is usually bang on with what producers are doing based on what is available to media.

If there was ultimately one thing that the leaked script proved right, it was the fact that the protagonist does indeed have a voice. And with that, you do lose a bit of the sandbox feeling that we had in previous games.

man i have so many favourite weapons in both F3 and F:NV.

lever action shotguns, sawn off shotgun (for obvious reason), 45. handgun, Xuanlong assault rifle, the lincoln rifle was badass, 44. magnum and anti materiel rifle.

the only laser rifle i used was the Gauss rifle, when things got out of hand real quick.

Thanks for the analysis. The what looks like weapon parts gives me hope of upgrades similar to NV, continuing with this theme, my first thought on the power armour differences from F3 was also possible upgrades, to move faster etc.
Glad I wasn't the only one noticing the Bobblehead, thought I was seeing things, could these be collectable ?.
The weapon against the chair outside I thought, looked to me as though it fires bolts, judging by the cylinder type mechanism in front of the trigger and the long barrel.
Hope there is a choice of gender and that any character voicing is restricted to cut scenes to help with the immersion. The graphics work for me and with game immersion work well.

I don't get the hype. What's so special about this game? Genuine question.
The slow motion gory kills using the Vats system was one of the largest attractions in this game. You could lock onto any part of an enemy in real time. Then hit a button and slowly watch them be obliterated. Similar to the slow motion kills in the Sniper Elite games. If you are not interested in Fallout after this video, you never will be. :D

All hail the conqueror!

Add bigger magazine mod for 200 rounds, Strength at 10 and gun skill maxed out, NOTHING can withstand you. I actually prefer this over the gatling. Plus it looks cool to me. Reminds me of Rambo. ;)

Type in 'boy gun', and I guarantee this will pop up. ;)
Decent weapon though.

That looks awesome. I don't think I've ever seen that gun on NV but I wish I had.

...Really? :odd: There are couple of places where you can find this relatively early in the game. You sure you never ran into a Super Mutant wielding one by that mountain...uh whatsitcalled...Black Mountain? Yeah, there.

I headed up there late in the game but never found this weapon. I think it was for a quest to kill the leader there.

...You still playing the NV? IIRC, there are three places in game where you find this almost guaranteed. Problem is, two of those places will get you killed pretty swiftly if you go in blind...:irked:

No, I'm not. Had it til I sold my PS3. If any of those ways are Deathclaws, ****. That.

...:D Yup, one of the places are packed with Deathclaws. Not just any, but an Alpha male deathclaw, and a Mother Deathclaw. Even on "easy" two swipes from one of these two mofos, and you were dead. :scared:

The other place was full of lethal radiation and a very alert Super Mutant. :O
