What are people hoping for from DLC story-wise? Or what would you do for a DLC story?
Well, underwater DLC seems like a given at this point. Too much points towards it, most notably the secret Harpoon gun someone founs in the files that had a water/bubble animation when shot.

I personally want to see something like Point Lookout. A bit of mystery, a bit of horror, etc. And maybe a Story and Map extension based on what faction you joined up with.

I was heading down the Western edge of the map today and started encountering Deathclaws. I took down two regular ones surprisingly easily, then came to a power station not marked on the map just South of the Mayoral Shelter. I spotted a level 50 Behemoth inside (I'm level 35) so backed up and came across a Legendary Alpha Deathclaw right between me and where I wanted to go! Figured I was done for when Valentine decided to go in guns blazing, but thanks to Les Fusil Terribles I destroyed it somewhat easily actually! He almost killed me once but around the same time I crippled his legs and such, it was a fairly easy fight from there on out. This was all in the wide open as well, nowhere to run or hide.

Has to laugh at a legandary raider who was giving me more trouble than usual when he shouted "you'd better drop some good loot!" - and he did drop some good loot, which also answered some questions as to why he was giving me trouble: I got an incendiary laser rifle with a bleeding effect.

Then I went to Massachusetes State House, thinking that I just pass countless locations without exploring them. So I went in and cane face-to-face with my least-favourite enemy, a mirelurk hunter. I dealt with that nasty surprise, then started looking for the way out. I found it, but then heard a noise. I turned around and that's how I met a mirelurk queen.

I wonder if Sanctuary Hills would have half as many "ghoul problems" lately if I just get rid of the one guy asking me to help out with said problems every other Minutemen mission. I've cleared out Wicked Shipping three times now to the point where I'm only killing one ghoul stalker. The amount of XP earned for effort expended is way
more than I deserve.

/not a complaint

I've basically stopped helping the Minutemen, got fed up with the same quests, have done 63 quests for them so far, and only go to help defend settlements now, lost count how many quest fails I've had.

That's where I had my encounter, didn't know how high the Behemoth was though, the deathclaws just kept coming and as you say all in the open.

Got some great progress today. Forgot what level I got to, but I can now pick Master locks and hack Master terminals. I finished Valentine's personal quest which meant I maxed affinity with him so I could stop using him. Now using Curie and it took very little time for her to be transferred to her sexy new body. Gave her a Stun Security Baton to help with her repeated melee encounters. Fought some really tough enemies that were made quite easy by the Les Fusil Terribles, such as a Legendary Assaultron (I killed it some three time before I escaped the nuclear explosion it does after it dies.). I'm still looking for a legendary combat rifle though, which is my staple weapon for most ordinary enemies.
Edit: Oh my goodness! There's a super awesome one for sale in Vault 81! I know where I'm going next.

As @Wiegert said, some of the Minutemen quests become very easy because you've already cleared the areas of enemies recently, which makes earning XP very easy, so I'm going to keep helping people.

I probably will have to start doing some more as I am trying to get Strong to like me, he dislikes everything except killing.
I got that weapon ' Overseer's rifle', it fires an extra projectile, but have stuck to my unlimited version. Having close to 8000 rds and not having to reload has saved me a few times.
Curie gives 'Combat medic' perk, +100 hp once a day, very useful.

Strong is so hard to get to infinity liking, found small child in a fridge, in agreeing to help Strong says " good small human should be with others", at the same time an icon comes up saying 'Strong dislikes that'.
At Lorenzo's in Diamond City found a fat man called Big Boy, fires extra projectile. Should make hostiles think twice.

convert the bigboy to fire the mirv bombs means you get mini mini nukes rather than two.

gees approaching 300 hours, still haven't finished any of the main quests....

Found an incomplete X-01 Power armour chassis with a few pieces - guess I'll cobble my T60 parts onto this frame

My PS4 says at a recent save 11 days, 19hours, still with the first character and I have not gone into the Glowing sea, have not started Brotherhood of steel, done the Randolph safehouse #6 for the railroad and got the Castle for the Minutemen and just got lvl 64, am currently working on my 7th companion for the perk. Will get to the main story line one day .

Yeah the Wiki lied to me, I thought it fired two bullets while only expending one, but it did in fact use two bullets at a time so I decided not to use it. Still going to continue with my regular version of the combat rifle, as firing two bullets at weaker enemies could easily equate to a waste of ammo.

So, I somehow survived the Glowing Sea, and I have to say, crossing over into it for the first time was truly epic. It looks like the gates to hell. It easily makes my list of best gaming moments.

Also, how do I start the Eddie Winters mission? I keep finding his holotapes, but I don't know how to trigger it.

You need to do the detective case missions with Nick Valentine. I think there's one or two of them before the Eddie Winters mission. And you receive those missions by going back to Valentine's Detective Agency in Diamond City.

Well, new companion is Preston Garvey, every few minutes it seems he says there's a new settlement that needs my help, if I do the help needed they thank him and say " take this for your help", don't know what they give though.
All the companions that idolise me I've dumped at The Red Rocket, looking in recently Curie seems to have done a runner.

I stole a power armour frame but had to use my own fusion core, in removing my fusion core, evidently it's stealing. I put some armour on the frame and it's stealing to remove it.

I don't think you have to do those cases. I triggered the Eddie Winters quest simply by gaining a certain amount of affinity with Nick. He'll just ask you if you can help out.

I called in the artillery to fight off an attack on the Castle, however a Settler or two got hit and I got the blame. Their revenge was swift.

Reload. Tried again, closing the external door to stop the idiots running out and getting killed, but they just pushed me aside, opened the door and died. Once again, I got the blame.

Reloaded yet again and finally found that if I could use the smoke to direct the artillery a long way from the Castle and use a Stealth Boy to not alert the incoming enemies and provoke them into running towards the Castle, no Settlers will die.

For my next trick, I have built a form of "tunnel" inside the Castle (using prefab wooden items) leading up to the door, and blocked the tunnel with a row of airline seats. My plan is that the tunnel will slow the settlers down, and the airline seats may stop them entirely. My spawn point is inside the wall at the door facing inwards, so while I can't get out the door (due to the airline seats), I can run up to the top of the (repaired) walls and fire off the smoke flare.

Time will tell.

Another little adventure. I'm escorting "Buddy" aka "Drinkin' Buddy" all the way to The Red Rocket. Free Ice Cold Beer!! Such a valuable asset needs to be protected, I think! But, my, is he slow. I'll need a few drinks by the time we get there. Fought off Raiders and a bunch of Super Mutants, and currently am being overtaken by one of my Provisioners and his Brahmin. More attacks!! This is turning into quite the experience. Reached Malden safely so far.

I have done them both.

I bought a gun from vault 95 (I think it was anyway) called the "Overseer's guardian". It fires 2 shots for the cost of 1 and its a beast of a gun. With my build it does 193 damage and uses .45 ammo (I have over 2400 rounds for it!)

You have to be a certain affinity level with Nick, and then he'll confide in you about his past and that's when the quest becomes available
Right, thanks. I have mostly been playing with Dogmeat, and will probably finish the main story with him before I move onto companion quests.

Yeah, I was just casually playing the story when Nick said "We need to talk" and then after that conversation it triggered the quest

I'll see how I go. I have found a lot of the companions to be fairly useless, getting pulled into fights that I don't want to be a part of. And if I don't have them join my party straight away, they seem to be lost; I can't find Strong or MacCready or Deacon or Curie. But I don't like letting Dogmeat go, since I have the Lone Wanderer park maxed out.

Just send them to Red Rocket or a really small settlement.

Most of the companions can't be ordered, but Curie can, I have her tend my small batch of crops at Red Rocket.

Ah ok. I hadn't reached that certain affinity until after I did those two quests, hence why I thought you had to do them first. My apologies.

Ran into a weird glitch last night - after finishing "The Glowing Sea", I swung by Vault 95 on a mission for Hayden. Big mistake. Between the legendary gunner, two assaultrons and a Mr. Gutsy, I barely made it to the door. Once I made it in, another two assaultrons turned me into mincemeat. But rather than respawning inside Vault 95, I got a blue screen and ended up spawning under the game would outside CIT.

Just send them to Red Rocket or a really small settlement.
I send them to Hangman's Alley. I don't actually have any settlement there, but it's nice and centrally-located. I just link it to all my other settlements to get access to their resources and use it to develop weapons, armour and power armour.

That's the gun I was talking about, same name and bought it from Vault 81 but it doesn't fire two shots for the cost of one, it fires two shots and expends both bullets, which to me is a waste of ammo even if it would be better against stronger enemies.
