I don't know if this is a bug or a feature. "Radio Freedom" is no longer working for me, which, in turn, means that artillery is no longer working.

Anyone else seen this issue? Have I done something stupid?

Looks like power is not connected. I can see the switch on the left doesn't have a cable?

edit - that's for the speaker. Do you have enough power? 10 units

Had a person in vault 81 ask me to get fertiliser, this I did but they won't acknowledge me now to accept the fertiliser, is this an actual quest ?, if not I want a mod to dump the fertiliser all over her laboratory

Yeah, for some reason, the option goes away, after you come back into the vault.
Same for the tools, the guys disappears... but on the PC you can enter a console command to respawn him

rebuilt the castle walls - sure makes defending much easier later on in the game

I used this method, except instead of sticking a picket fence to the grouped foundation blocks and a click hold to move them as a unit (which didn't work for me, since the picket fence doesn't clip into the ground), I used a bridge to do the same

Like the way you've done the stairs. For me the Castle has to wait, will take ages just getting the materials.

Well I already had a ton of cement and wood at Red Rocket from me just buying a few everytime I was trading, over time, and then just linked a supply line from all settlements together. Need at least 200 of each

and aftermath of the settlement raid mod - where I spawned medium rated, Gunner, BOS and Super Mutant raids at the same time on the castle - damn all hell broke loose, with my rocket turrets letting loose, and vertibirds flying and exploding all over the place, had to dodge em :mischievous:

I think he means vault 81 as far as I'm aware it the only place you can get it from.

Yes it was vault 81 sorry I got a bit confused with the vault numbers lol.

Your's is actually called Overseer's Guardian?

A guy called Sheffield, though not acompanion can be asked to work for you, he's in Diamond City by Lorenzo's.

Actually managed to get a guy to exit his power armour by shooting the fusion core, have tried a few times but succeeded for the first time yesterday, the following explosion darn near killed me though - watch for that folks.

Tested the Overseer's gun, it only consumes 1 bullet, what I am not certain on is the damage, is it per shot or total for the two.

Sorry guys I finally figured this out. When I tested it it had the stock automatic receiver it came with which was auto firing two shots at a time (as in, expending two rounds, firing four). I put in my calibrated powerful receiver and it works a treat now, fires two bullets and only uses one, I think mine is currently rated for 154 damage, more than a rocket launcher.:) I fear very few enemies right now.:p
@SJC ALPHA I'm pretty sure the damage is total for both bullets, it most certainly does not do more damage than my ~180 damage combat shotgun.
I also decided to rename a couple of my guns, "Les Fusil Terribles" is now "Boom Town" (population, you ), and the "Overseer's Guardian" is now "Rain Man", though I may change that one again.

I have not done any mods to the Overseer's and I was test firing one shot, you've obviously got a heavy trigger finger

Found ' Prototype UP77 Limitless Potential', an unlimited laser weapon.

I think you're correct concerning the damage for both the rounds. I have a standard .44 magnum that's in the 200, but recently found a two-projectile .44 and it's damage was 304.

Have you checked to see if your generator need repairing?
Yes, on both counts, thanks for the suggestions.

I'll try disconnecting everything and reconnecting. Maybe the system runs on Windows and needs a reboot!

Come to think of it, way back, I had a problem with an array of lights which failed and the cure was to store the wires and generators and replace them. I had forgotten that little incident.

On the subject of Castle defense, I had earlier posted that I wanted to stop the settlers from rushing out and getting hit by artillery. In that post, I mentioned I was trying a row of "airline chairs" placed across the doorway through the wall.

I can report that these chairs not only stop Settlers from getting out, but it stops Super Mutants from getting in. The settlers rush up to the top of the walls and fire away with their pipe pistols or whatever.

Next little plan is to equip some of them with grenades to replace their pistols. My only worry is that if the attackers spawn inside the Castle, grenades may create damage.

There are some epic battles at the Castle for sure. Some last for a good 30 minutes. I am sure I could end it faster with bigger "weapons" but I am always afraid to kill my settlers. I might put up a wall around it too. Good idea and I have an insane amount of resources..

Took a break from my settlements and I have been trying to press further into the campaign. I also traded out Dogmeat for Piper. Then I actually had to make a couple tough decisions in the campaign for the first time last night.

Sorry if its been posted but has anyone else found the hollowed out rocks behind the museum of witchcraft? If your low level and can make it over there you can get yourself a hardened sniper rifle and I also got 6 stimpack, radaway and some ammo.

Yup I did, what interested me was the note saying sorry missed you at Megaton.

I took a standard Combat rifle and applied the same mods as the Overseer's, the damage came to 22, where as the Overseer's says 55, for me anyway, so with that I can assume the damage is for the two projectiles.

That's one hell of a pistol! That's a lot more than even my .50 cal sniper rifle will reach, even once I get the level 5 rifleman perk. Have you got level 5 gunslinger for that much damage? I haven't put any in that perk yet, but I have a .44 with exploding bullets when I do.

Found another suit of armour last night, all parts X-O1 MK V, I now have a gallery of 31.

As the Overseer's had the armour piercing on I added the suppressor and done a walk from Oberland to Somerville, a nice river walk, I met every kind of Mirelurk except the Queen and that gun was ripping them apart - might keep this one.

Yeah, I have my Gun Slinger at max, so it does double it's original damage  The weapon will rip through just about anything. I'm extremely jealous of your exploding bullets .44, I think that's one of my favorite perks.

Do you enjoy the conversations with NPCs in FO4?

Here is a way to provoke more fun.

With a companion, progress the process to the "Thoughts/Relationship" choices and then do nothing. Just wait. And when your companion does say something, keep on ignoring. The repertoire is quite long.

Example with some bad language in the spoiler below...

Cait can say, along with other sassy remarks, "S’matter? Got s h i t e in your ears?"

You don't even need to do that, just any conversation, where you are prompted for a responce, just idle and they start saying things :)

Also when your AFK, the game goes into a panning mode

Have just done the quest where you team up with X6 - 88 for the first time, this new companion has to be the worst yet, completely ruined the whole quest, so annoyed I had to turn the game off.

I only made a little progress in F4 last night before xbox live started having major problems between 7:00pm and 10:00pm EST. My game is digital and it absolutely would not let me play while online. So I ended up playing RSS instead since it is a disc. Typical this time of the year. Happens EVERY year at Christmas time.

@SJC ALPHA Remember when we had a discussion about the horrible BoS pilots? Well check out this video

I was away for a minute and came back just in time to see it crash.
That's a first for me, blimey, the wasteland is dangerous enough without Vertibirds falling out of the sky.
Talking of Vertibirds, while doing the quest with X6-88 to get Gabrial the idiot opened up on two of them, so while fighting Raiders I had these to contend with as he kept missing and falling into the water.

Had a new one yesterday, I responded to help a settlement under attack, upon arriving there was gun fire everywhere, the settlers were shooting each other, well two of them. When they were dead I got the completed signal.

Why are there two fallout 4 threads?

Any way...

Am I the only one who feels bad for raiders after killing a gang and finding things like teddy bears and toys next to their beds? It's kind of sad. :(

I remember finding a raider with a dead woman on his bed. If i recall correctly it was in a little shack across the little creek from Sanctuary, near the edge of the map. I didn't feel too bad about blasting his face off with a shotgun.

necrophilia....

Is there a quest line where the minutemen destroy the institute?

They sent me in but never really forced me to do any sort of killing, then I said I'd be cool with the institute. MM still treat me well with quests and support but don't send me on anything institute related.
Is it possible the MM only care about ghouls and raiders? Building settlements, etc.?
They certainly don't seem to care about taking down the institute.

Minutemen don't really give a **** about the Institute
