Think about it.....if both a CSR E and CSW are both running on the same game on a PC that outputs enough voltage to work the FFB motors to max output the advanced tuning functions of the CSW are not going to do anything to increase that and make it behave stronger. I

I don't think that any game on any platform can max FFB effect. If you check FFB on Fanatec properties page, no game matches that strength.

faddish
Hold the phone.......there might be a hiccup for the unboxing videos - might not be until tomorrow.

What makes you say that? According to Mr T blog the embargo for that is off

BTW people.....CSR E's are currently enroute to US and EUR.

:tup:From Big T's blog:tup:

"About shipping status: We have wheels on the way to the US and EU but I will not tell you how many and if you are part of this shipment or not. I hope that all customers understand that we are very busy at the moment and cannot give a daily status on every single order. All open CSR E orders are supposed to be shipped before Christmas as promised. I will report as the first wheels are ready to be depatched to our customers. Everybody is excited and so are we"

Saw a comment under the post from Sonac who has an unboxing video prepped and ready who said he has an e-mail from Thomas stating it is Dec 1st (tomorrow) and the same time, not today.

Maybe Thomas is soo over worker he got his dates screwed up.

Jonboy1066 got hold of Thomas......EMBARGO IS OFF at the time posted today on the blog!

Jonboy1066 is loading up his vid right now.

I'd rather have a larger 330-350mm (life size) wheel that is slightly heavier and slightly alters the strength of the FFB than continue using what to me feels like a toy. Nothing against the guys who like the size of the CSR-E stock wheel, but I think the CSR wheel (same size and shape) just feels too small. I will sacrifice a little weight/speed/FFB for a more realistic experience any day of the week. Really one of my only complaints about the CSR is the size of the wheel, it just feels too much like a toy in my hand. Still feels better than most of the other wheels out there though. But I can't wait for life size wheel attachments.

Haha, don't expect too much. It's not like I have the patience to set everything up perfectly before opening the box :)

And to support your other statement this certainly wasn't the case with the Porsche wheels compared to the CSR. Having switched from the PWTS to the CSR there is a substantial difference in terms of quickness and fine touch FFB effects between those two wheels......they don't feel anything like each other and that can clearly be attributed to the overall reduction in mass by losing the "airbag" center section of the Porsche design.

Yes indeed mate and I will say it again yes different size, weight and materials in each rim will have their own unique differences in rotation, return to centre speeds and change the feeling of the FFB within each rim.

The beauty with the CSW is being able to hotswap ingame.
So you could be playing GT5 with the BMW rim then swap over to the Formula rim for some cars. The experience and feel based from my own personal opinion will not be the same.

I would love to be able to video each wheels speeds in slow motion and compare the CSW in direct 1:1 tests with the CSRE but will just have to compare to other wheels I have bought/own.

My own testing is being updated to 3x wheelstands and 3 wheels for direct comparisons. Bought another wheelstand with the Black Friday offer. This has delayed my testing somewhat but this way I can relate to both T500RS owners and PWTS owners and take notes on how the CSRE compares doing so immediately after one another. It's how I want to perform future reviews and comparisons I do. Still lots more testing for me to do anyways, I certainly wont be rushing out any report before its finished.

Minor update to the OP, I'll continue to update regularly as information is released.

Lol spag.

Yeah energizzer. But iirc later on someone here stated Thomas called it club sport racing or something along those lines. But i dont recall a source or anything. Imo it would be dumb to have the clubsport line, club sport racing elite line and the club sport racing line. Toooo much club sport going on there.

Maybe its the CustomerServiveRevamp line ;)

CSR really had no special meaning in the beginning. It should sound familiar but the CSR line is not the ClubSport line of products so the CS means anything but ClubSport. Perhaps I need to collect some suggestions and make a poll ;)
So far I liked "Competition Sport Racing" and "Competition SimRacing". What else could it be?

Is there any plans to make a ClubSport wheel with 360 support then? I like the look of the CSW over the CSR Elite.

If Fanatec could do a CSW with 360 support we wouldn't have the Elite....we'd have one wheel. As Thomas stated in his interview on ISR they are limited as to what they can do function wise and option wise when consoles come into play. That's where the CSW comes in......it frees them from console limitations as PC allows a lot more options as to what they can do. There's also the money factor. If the CSW costs $599 with a wheel how much more does it cost to add 360 functionality to it given the extra electronics and licensing fees......I'd harbor a guess it would tack on another $70-100.

What is it you don't like about the CSR E looks? The wheel.....colors of the base unit?

As noted numerous times Thomas has stated they plan to offer rim options in the future and I have no doubt hell come through on that. If you don't like the colors I can tell you the base is easy to take apart and would be easy to customize with paint and I have no doubt we'll see people doing that in no time.

I think these high end wheels are overkill for a game that does not support 900 steering or driving without aids.

I'm back, and I have a few questions about the CSR pedals.

a) Fanatec says on their website that the pedals can be adjusted a bit in terms of location. Can anyone tell me, does this allow up and down movement? See, my whole want of CSR pedals is so that the bottom of the accelerator extends far past the bottom of the brake so I can get some good heel-toe action. I'd also like to invert the pedals. Well, in the OEM inversion kit, it literally takes each pedal and flips it upside down. But if I do this, I begin to lose a little length of the gas below the brake (which is much needed to heel-toe). So I ask: can I nudge the accelerator farther downward after I do the inversion? And how far, if possible?

b) Other than sex appeal, do the elite pedals have any real advantage over the standard ones?

c) Does anyone here have a CSR hooked up to a Fanatec Rennsport Wheel Stand (V2)? How does that work for you?

d) How hard is it to actually do the inversion? Keep in mind I'm a guy without much technical skill (video would be great here).

Sorry if my questions are a bit confusing (especially a).

Thank you!

my (CSR Elite testing) wheel should be arriving at some point this week, and while I was originally going to field questions over at "forzaplanet.net", this section seems to be much more active and I'll probably be asking for questions and publishing my reviews over here alongside the other websites I had already planned on.

oh, and I know it's a random question, but does anybody have the full dimensions of the CSR elite pedals and know which side the plug to put the cord in is on?

Seriously, go and infect some other threads around this place, your total lack of input into this thread is not needed. And your obsession with putting one game down is really quite scary.
