Good litmus test for wheel settings is in auto cross.
Logi I have almost the same settings as yourself bar drift at 3. Now set to 4 post patch.
Try getting through the gates post patch. Lots of fun.
Online will unfortunately by Pad biased IMHO.
Randoms will bump and grind plus pad users will get away with more.
Good job I have some clean mates.
im pretty sure its 350mm, definitely bigger than 315
Oops my mistake Logi.
I'll not derail any further with Forza awesomeness.
Agreed PzR.
It really makes the rim pop.I prefer the new Fanatec logo in the middle of the formula rim. It adds more charachter to it.
mhm, what is your bet?![]()
I am going to bet on 315mm.
You are 100% correct, I meant each way. I watch F1 as most of you likely do, and they very rarely turn the wheel more than the 210 or 270 (total). I have seen them do it more sometimes but 360 would be the max. So the useable steering is what I'm referring to. For my setups I consider the car not the power. I general have 3 that i use and select based on the type of car I'm driving. This is a semantics issue which is often confused. I think what you're saying is more than 180 degrees EACH WAY would be painful. One full rotation (crossing your arms fully if you keep a constant 9/3 position grip) equals 360 degrees total (180 left, 180 right.) That as I understand it is used for somewhere like Monoco for the Casino hairpin (tightest turn in F1), and maybe a little less lock is used elsewhere on these cars. But if you set the wheel to 180 it will be very twitchy and about 1/2 the lock we're talking about here, unless I misunderstand.
Why is 900 degree better than 270? I'm new and am still trying to figure stuff out. For a 900 degree setup could someone post their CSR wheel tuning options and then how they match those settings in Forza 4? (post both) I know it's a bit of work but I'd really appreciate it!![]()
Yeah it's a heavier wheel and much deeper (wheel to back of base) and wider. The base is the full width of the wheel which is 30cm (could be marginally larger). Is the base of the CSR-Elite wheel significantly bigger than the standard CSR wheel?
I am going to bet on 315mm.
could be a good decision to bet on 315.. but could also be a good decision to bet on 350 mm.. mhhhhm who knows....![]()
I don't think it was ever identical to that degree, for example with it's ability to recognise tens of buttons it was always potentially going to be massively more flexible for the user.superbike81So finally we hear something about the shifter, only after I decided to purchase the Thrustmaster TH8 RS. Oh well, I like my TH8, but I'm interested to see what the surprises are. Also VERY interested to hear what the added features of the CSW are.
I'm hoping these added features of the CSW set it more apart from the CSR-Elite. Seemed kinda odd to me that the CSW would be identical to the CSR-Elite except for no X-Box support and the quick release.
Simracer92Ooookay guys..
I really enjoyed the discussion about the BMW rim size.. It was a lot of fun
In the picture of Stephane at iRacing forums it really looks like the wheel is significant bigger than the wheel base.
So, but trust me. The wheel rim is not 350mm....You must know, this wheel rim is made of real alcantara over rubber and with a lot of metal so if it would be 350mm you know the rim would be extremely heavy..?! And a heavier wheel do not give you the ffb effects as a Formula rim can give you..
When you listen very carefully in the BMW introduction video you can hear 315mm or 350mm .. I think I can end the confusion here - it will be 315 mm atm.
Suggestion to Fanatec:
The shifter, make it compatible with an iphone/android/tablet device.
Whatever gear is selected an app can show this in realtime.
If the shifter alone supported this type of feature then it would work on consoles too.
People could use devices they have as gear indicators.
Okay, that means the picture is either an early testing model as the pedals are just wider then the base and the distance from there seem more like 50mm the 15mm, or it's an optical illusion.
I'll take your word for it though. Shame the 550 motors aren't powerful enough for a real size rim though. Which usually are 350-360mm if I am not mistaken.
Mr LatteSometimes pictures and videos have a funny way of making something look different or bigger.
I could swear that a "Big Mac" looks much bigger on tv than in reality
Maybe they use people with really small hands for closeups, lol.
