Of some small interest to others, both iRacing and Forza forums also had a poll to select CSR Elite testers and have all been concluded. All the other polls also only selected 3 testers. I think iRacing had bout 20 volunteers. Official Forza forum had bout 15 I think.

You get the email yet?
When is your due mate?

I've been meaning to ask this for awhile, but kept forgetting. Does anyone have any advice for keeping the h-shifter in-place? It keeps sliding off the rods and appears to be getting worse.

Mine is actually a bit too tight on the rods.
Are the rods firm? Does the whole assembly move, rods and shifter or is it just the shifter sliding off.

If you don't need to switch between sequential and manual then a bit of tape around the rod should sort that out.

The rods noticeably move around, not out of the wheel, but laterally (not sure how best to describe it). I was thinking of putting something in-between the rods to keep them from moving around so much thinking that what was allowing the shifter to move down them, but was afraid that they're supposed to have some give to them.

I thought of just putting some duct tape at the end of the rods, just to keep the shifter from sliding off, but that seemed...I don't know...too crude. :)

Yes the rods do flex.
Strangely when I'm immersed in the game I never notice any flexing.

I had to apply Vaseline to my rod to get it in. Hold that thought...........

I don't have much rod showing through the other side of my shifter, maybe an inch at most.
A bit of tape won't hurt mate.

I will hold nothing to do with that thought, thank you very much. ;)

Id suggest electrical tape. It will look nicer than duct tape.

Actually, you may be able to get something at an electric supply shop / home depot type place. Not sure of they make conduit clamps that small.

Did a little searching.

Search the site for "tube clamp"

Something like that about halfway between the wheel and shifter should help with any twisting in the rods.

As for the ends, you wont need much tape, just a couple wraps should solve the shifter sliding out.

Good idea Caz. I think a bracket with screws on top - center - bottom would work well to keep the rods aligned. The clamps shown have a plastic type insert that might still cause flexing of the rods. I'll try making some of aluminum and also of phoenolic, and see how they work.

Just a quick question for you guys, does anyone know if the CSR elite pedals are as stiff as the CSP's? And aside from plastic parts, no vibraion and contactless sensors, what other differences are there between the two?

Caz. Lol.

Mild ashers. The default spring setup on CSP are not that stiff mate. IMHO.
I do not know about the newer pedals although the load cell should at least match the CSP.

CSP load cell can be turned almost off, to very stiff to operate.

Not much help but I hope it's some.

Thanks for the reply. I think the CSP comes with the tuning kit as well at the moment so that should help somewhat. How about in comparison to the G27? How are the CSP's in terms of feel compared to those?

Haha, you can't compare the two.
G27 pedals have no resistance at all (I drive in shoes) while CSP can be compared to a real car (resistance + build quality).
The only problem you can have with CSP is if you drive in socks - you'll have to start driving in shoes, all metal construction is very cold to feet!

Not my experience at all.
Default springs are fine in socks. Brake pedal can be tuned to your liking.
Throttle and clutch are ok to push with socks.

Maybe your house is cold.

Their are differences between the feel on each.
However like the CSP the throttle is still a little light on the new CSRE pedals.
I tested the CSR pedals using the 30% stronger spring from the CSP kit and found it more to my own preference.

If you can wait another two weeks or so my own and other peoples reports will be done on these pedals. It should give readers plenty of feedback and detailed comments coming from various testers.

On Sunday I spent over 6 hours with the pedals fully dismantling and changing the "CSRE" pedal configurations/options just for the purpose of testing and taking over 300 photos. I plan to cram about 50 images into the pedal report comparison which will be the first part of my own four part "Brown Nose Special" on the new CSRE products.

Slighty overkill LOL...

Certainly not what I would consider putting in a review but this is more of a "report"

Both sets look absolutely amazing, making it even harder to decide which one to get... looking forward for your detailed report Latte.

Yeah it really is hard to determine which may be the best ones to get. Different people will have their own preference.

Regarding playtesting:

This is the planned configuration, I have spent a fair bit of my own money in buying additional games, the new CSP and a new wheelstand. None of this play a game, swap over the wheel remember from notes and redo the test mallarky. It is all for a good purpose and will allow immediate 1-1 comparisons in the report and in the future. Also comparing X360 & PS3 titles on the CSRE from a wheel users perspective.

Im having a few friends over to use as extra testers to get their own comments for additional feedback.

Mr latte, i really think on games you have for both systems you should test with the elite. Testing say daytona with the elite on 360 then again on ps3 but with the pwts may not be fair as each system may perform differently.

Indeed and yes this already has been done thanks to your help with Daytona not yet being available in the UK for PS3. The CSRE will also go against the T500RS in a GT5 shootout as well for part four of the report.

Your post about your test setup only shows multi platform games being tested either with the ps3/pwts combo or the 360/ elite combo.
I think all the games that you have for both systems should be tested with the elite on both systems. Caffeine hasnt kicked in yet, i cant recall if the pwts is 360 compat. Or not, but if it is this should also be tested with those games on both aswell.

Unless im just dumb and missing something here ;)

Anyway, your blowing away anything remotely close to what i can do when it comes to multiplatform testing. Cant wait to read everyones reviews/ graphic novels :sly:
Cheers.
