Zzzzz...

I don't feel a need for another comparison and I don't own one although TM had offered one.

Glad your looking forward to the review

At least you shouldn't miss the obvious issue with the wheel center that everyone was saying is how it should be when I bought it up about the CSR, (no feedback in wheel center). No disrespect to the reviewers but it's amazing how it was noticed with the CSR E, but yet people were trying to tell me this is how it should be when I said about the same issue with the CSR

I was new to when I noticed this, maybe I should have reviewed the wheel

I remember someone even telling me to stop complaining about it because the wheel was perfect

Edit: This is by no means a complaint about the product, I love it, but the reviews for the CSR were not correct, maybe they have been corrected now. By the looks of it though Thomas is in the middle of creating the new firmware so if the CSR E new firmware is anything to go by it should be great

Hey guys just wanted to post some pics of the modding ive done to my csr elite. I have gutted the original wheel and redirected the wires back through the shaft and under the mic input. Got some aceteal plastic and made an adapter to fit a quick disconnect. Only real downside is losing the paddle shifters, but then again i never use them in the 1st place.

hey dude you've kicked arse, you should have this in your own seperate thread.....just a couple of questions, the real wheel is heavier than the original one right, so does the wheel lose its accuracy people are raving on about? does it lose its detailed ffb with the heavier wheel? if yes to both question then by how much? a little or alot?

Shouldn't lose accuracy, it's still mounted to the shaft.

If its a lot heavier then FF will alter I would suspect.

ah yes thats true but hey you never know, its just a shame theres no buttons on the wheel but i guess with a bit of soldering and work you could fix them on pretty neatly, or you could just cable tie the whole middle section of the elite wheel to the real one:crazy:

Besides the buttons and paddle shifter you also lost the two ffb motors in the wheel :( great mod though I would love to put my momo monte carlo on my csr-e

never needed or wanted buttons on my wheel. when I have time I will find a way to mount the two ffb motors on the new wheel. Really don't notice there gone.
From what i can tell I don't notice any ffb loss from the heavier wheel. If there is, It's very little loss.

cool:tup: is the real wheel much heavier than the standard elite wheel? last question i promise

Very interesting mod.... I'm very curious about this. I could get behind you going on a little rant about how it feels, how you did it, etc. etc.

Cool maybe you can make a production model and start selling it like chilicoke did with his g25/27 adapter plate :)

BLACK86

Its a little heavier but not much. The quick release added the most Weight to the wheel. I didnt realize how much plastic made up the original rim till I took it apart. Its. 85% plastic, mine would squeak when I griped it

yeah i heard they squeak, i actually reworded one of my replies to you, it said "plastic wheel" instead of elite wheel, didnt want to upset anyone....crazy times.

thanks for the info much appreciated:tup:

Well done, I knew somebody would be doing such and even stated this a couple of months ago. However your never gonna reach those buttons now, lol.

Nice rim too but I'd miss the paddles personally.

Edit:
What about the rumble motors, if they arnt on your new rim then that's a potential yet quite big downside for some.

It's still available as the centre has been turned in to a button box.

New Firmware for those with a CSR-Elite

For those waiting for a new firmware, this was just recently posted on 911wheel:

http://911wheel.de/?q=node/7640

It should be mentioned that he explicitly mentions it's a new FW and Updater so classified as BETA.

Can someone test it this year still? That new FW. Or is a changelog included?

Not that I've seen. The post is basically <paraphrased> outstanding issues have been fixed and as far as they can tell no new ones have been created.

Nice setup man. That is some serious modding. Black86 is right, you should put this on your own thread. Are those FFB motors in the wheel? I thought they were just vibrating motors???

gj capchoas. I guess as long as you dont need the paddles thats really sweet.

oh right no buttons either. well i guess thats what button boxes are for

external interface. I did find out today that if you start up the wheel then change it to pc mode i can then unplug the original elite wheel center and the wheel still functions with ffb forces as it should

Any body try dirt 3 with the new firmware. I noticed that there is a bout a 25 degree dead zone where the vehicle wont turn until reached. The ffb effects are great though almost to much

Did you reset your wheel and all tuning parameters after the flash? I'm not sure this is in the instructions or not. My friend did a firmware update once and until he did that he had unexplained behavior as everything looked right in the menus. I wasn't there with him so I'm not sure if he did everything right, or if that process still needed for the current procedure. Just thought I would mention it.

Maybe there are some settings in the game that you put in earlier for a different controller and now the Elite doesn't cooperate with them?

So, are you thinking about producing some of those, possibly making it for sale? I'd really like one of those for my Elite. How easy is it to do that?

No plans to produce any. It was easy enough to make the adapter. I just bought some 3/8 actel plastic. And used nothing but a drill and a dremel to drill holes and cut the plate
