Capchaos i liked the other wheel better, tho that one looks more comfy maybe?

I think they both feel great. Will be using both thanks to the quick release. The round deep dish for rally and oval racing. The other for road races that i need paddle shifters for. I might even try to make paddle shifters for the deep dish wheel although it will be more complex and time consuming. Have to give it some thought.

Lol i totally forgot you had quick release. Lucky you. do you mind fixed paddles? Could you get the original paddles and bolt them to the front black facia of the csre using those existing bolts, be warned tho as you may adjust tension of belts lossening certain bolts

@saidur_ali, you can dial in DEA (deadzone) on the wheel though to make it smooth. I didnt get a chance to try a red bull but I did try an Acura NSX Stealth & an Oreca LMP and both had wobble (like a Logitech).

So I'm assuming others are getting this too unless you dial in some deadzone. I'm using fw 721B

This is not a hardware issue. None of the wheels in the Fanatec line have deadzones. This issue lies in the driver or the software itself. Fanatec emulate Logitech, so this will forever be an issue until 1 of 3 things happen.

1-Logitech drivers are corrected (could cause another issue to pop up in Logitechs so I doubt this will happen).
2-Fanatec emulates the T500RS.
3-Fanatec gets it's own set of drivers. This would obviously be the best solution.

I'm inclined to agree with this post

Just tried to make a better vid of the movement I'm getting, had to get my 7 year old daughter to help. lol Hopefully you can see it this time. http://youtu.be/_TOAdTd5NcA

It's been 2 weeks since I emailed support with my 2 vids of my problem and no reply so far. I'm hoping it's because of the holidays but with the problems I've had in the past with Fanatec support I'm not getting my hopes up for hearing anything soon. Anyone else have a problem with their CSR-E and hear back from support quickly?

I tried looking (for all of 5 minutes) but I'm pretty sure someone on 911wheel.de had a similar issue and Thomas shipped him a new wheel, so that he could get that wheel back and investigate what has happened. Again I couldn't find it, but I'm pretty sure it was for bearing slop. I don't think this helps in any way except to tell you that I think they are working to figure out how to deal with this.

You could hope that maybe one of the Fanatec people here see this, so it doesn't hurt re-posting as you did.

I sent a mail yesterday and today.
Fanatec replied within 24 hours both times.
But tomorrow (friday) is a holiday in Germany.

Did you include serial number for the wheel and invoice(pdf file) or email order confirmation in your mail ?
You should get a automatic reply within a hour that specifies
what should be included in your mail.
Did you send the mail to e-support@fanatec.com ?

Fanatec is located in Bavaria, or ?
It says Bayern when looking at Fanatec's site
but I googled and Bayern/Bavaria seems to be different names
for the same area in Germany.

Yeah, I included everything they needed to e-support@fanatec.com. I've had a GT2 and a set of csp's with problems, now the csr-e. Everytime I've had to go through support it has taken months. Guess it's just my bad luck. lol

Nope, Bavaria and Bayern is the very same state. It's merely German (Bayern) & English (Bavaria).

You might've found something about the Bavaria statue, which is located in Munich.

I'm not freaking about it as the play is minimal and doesn't affect my gameplay at all. I know others don't have any at all so obviously not normal. I'm not worried about fixing it myself if it's possible to do......I just know a few others have pointed it out but haven't seen any posts beyond that.

Other than that fault the wheel is pretty darn impressive in the limited time I got to play today.

Probably because Forza is a whole new game to play and that's coming from a CSR to the Elite. The FFB is much stronger if you want (use to run 100% in game and on the wheel.....dialed the in game to 60 and left the wheel at 100 )there's no dead zone at center at all and the precision when turning in makes the CSR feel sloppy and laggy in comparison. Hopefully get some more time in tomorrow on F1 and GT5 to see what they're like.

Sent an email to Thomas about the play issue.....hopefully hear back tomorrow.

Hey Hawk, my problem is the same, the movement or slop in the shaft. I hope we hear something soon. I'm still using my wheel but want it to be in 100% working order. I don't want the bearings, if that's what the problem is, causing a bigger problem later.

If mine shows up like that I'm going to talk to Thomas about my father having a look at it, see if he wants and 3rd party input.

My father is a "go to guy" for custom machining and fixing machines when others can't get it done. So all these type of things is what he deals with daily. He diagnosed a machine once by having a person run the machine then hold a phone to various parts of it during operation. He didn't have time to go in so explained to them over the phone on what to do after hearing the sounds... I was amazed. We'll see what's what when it arrives.

Does anyone have a remedy for the minor belt squeal? its not a huge deal and i could live with it but so far its the only thing keeping the elite from being perfect.

I have the same movement in the steering shaft shown in the videos. I haven't noticed it at all while playing, so I don't really worry about it yet. It seems like more and more people are reporting this. You really have to look for it to find it.

It will be very interesting to see what Thomas has to say about it.

So it doesn't affect gameplay.. Yes or no?? Do you notice it when playing... Yes or no?

Just curious

The good thing is that Thomas has confirmed this is outside of what they designed and doesn't like that his product is doing that. Depending on the fix we may just get instructions on how to correct this.

I haven't noticed any rim flex or bearing slop while playing. I also haven't noticed any belt noise or squealing. I have had my CSR Elite for 2 weeks now and have probably played over 30 hours with it. I only play Forza 4 on the xbox.

When I first got it, I noticed some roughness in the movement, kind of like a real fine sandpaper. Now it is completely smooth. I'm not sure if it is just breaking in or the 721b firmware. Another thing I do notice is the seams on the inside of the rim as my fingers wrap around the wheel at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions.

It is an awesome wheel and a huge upgrade to the PWTS I was using for the last 2 years. I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you want to play xbox. Now if Thomas would hurry up and make us some rims it would be perfect.
