What the Fanatec wheels are not 100% compatible with GT5? Why this now? Ordered the GT3 yesterday :/

They work in the game, but since they're not a Sony licensed wheel they don't have a spot in the options menu. They are 100% compatible, as is the G27.

You are of course free to order the wheel and pedals separatly and we will ship it right away. Why do you think that you cannot do that?

I would happily do that with the GT3 RS V2 wheel + CS pedals from the UK. But for the fact that your website says the GT3 RS V2 wheel on it's own is out of stock and will be shipped in January, and the fact it would cost me an extra 60 euros.

Is the website wrong when it says the GT3 RS V2 wheel on it's own is not in stock in the UK shop? And is there any way you can price match the wheel + pedals as 2 seperate items so that it costs the same as the GT3 RS V2 clubsport item, 319.95 euros?

Schuey, I believe Fanatec was saying that the GT2 was available seperate from the CSP, as this thread has been all about the GT2. I don't think he was trying to imply that the GT3 was in stock right now.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, fact is...this stuff is not packaged all in one box, it's coming off of a shelf...just as if I ordered seperately....and it seems rediculous that they would ship other incomplete orders out to people in pieces

OK, I totally understand your frustration and don't blame you for cancelling, but this is just getting a little ridiculous. If they had your product sitting in stock and not sold, and COULD ship it as you claim, what is their motivation for not shipping it? He said there is a reason why he cannot ship the Clubsport editions, so what else is there to say? You say it's a fact that he can ship it, but what would be the motivation not to?

It's come to the point where people are cancelling orders. I don't think they are there twiddling their thumbs and laughing about their evil plot to not ship Clubsport packages.

If u r unhappy just get ur damn money back. If u r impatient then get ur money back. If u don't like the company's policies and ethics then get ur money back.

It's quite simple really. I for one will wait patiently and be happy when it gets here.

I think I am going to cancel my order as well. Its not necessarily the having to prepay and wait a month + for the product to arrive (don't get me wrong... this isn't a plus in their favor), but the unreliability of the product and customer service issues a lot of people have that leads me to this decision. I really REALLY want a wheel that works on both the ps3 and 360 but the chance of the thing going to crap and having a hard time getting it fixed or replaced isn't worth it. If I'm gonna fork over 500 bones for something like this I expect it to work without a problem, I shouldn't expect to have a problem.

I ordered mine just before Xmas and received it a few days later. I think the have a warehouse here in Los Angeles because shipping was next day after I received the UPS tracking number. I ordered the pieces separately so I didn't have to wait. Didn't get the shifter as I am waiting for the new one. As far as reliability it has been good so far. Every so often it gets slightly out of alignment, usually after hitting a wall and the feedback kicking in. But restarting it fixes it and only takes a second. I am willing to put up with a few imperfections for something better than the Logitcs. it feels awesome though. I don't know if this comparison works here but sometimes just because it is expensivand high quality doest make it more reliable. I would bet the real GT2 car is less reliable than a Honda civic. And I know my Ducati was the least reliable motorcycle and the most expensive to maintain compared to my rice rockets but it was my favorite bike. I own a Range Rover and compared to a Japansese SUV it has ALOT higher cost of ownership. But I wouldn't own anything else. It's give and take. Others ask me why I would own the Rover when it is known to have mor emechanical problems than a japanese SUV. Because I like the way it feels, drives, looks etc. All that is worth the periodic mechanical problems. Although I have yet to have many on this one. I'm not saying the Fanatec is less reliable than other wheels, just that I am willing to put up with minor quarks for the feel it has.

I want to see your response to these failures in game "that only take a second" when you are 2 hours into the 3 hour Formula GT series and you are left on the grid and it takes a full 18s to turn of/turn on/recalibrate and set into PS3 mode.

I want to see you calm and friendly response when you are facing losing a series because it happened the previous race as well and are starting a 20 lap race that you might have won by only 5 or 8 seconds 24s behind the pack.

See, this is the REAL problem with the Fanatec gear, it is just ever so slightly unreliable and randomly has issues - and when it does it removes ALL enjoyment from what is otherwise supposed to be a RECREATIONAL activity. ;)

I am betting when that does happen a few times you will suddenly think 'WTF? I paid $600 for this??"

Now I am only talking about the random wheel failures/shutdowns and the like - I havent even received my CSP's to begin to add in taht variable. :)

RC if your wheel is failing mid game that's not a normal thing. Get it repaired or replaced. Also, I don't think you have much to worry about on the pedals.

Just a quick update on ordering: having cancelled my GT2 CS edition yesterday thinking I'd have a Thrustmaster instead I changed my mind (again...!). I ordered the GT2, Clubsports and Shifters on one order totalling 499.85 euros and this morning that order is now showing delivered, probably meaning that the wheel and pedals are to be dispatched to ups today. So I'm missing out on carbon paddles, not too worried about that tbh. Thanks Thomas for advising us yesterday that ordering items separately was the way to speed up delivery time.

Edit: just had confirmation email, wheel and pedals will be shipped now!

With that said, I just replaced my order...and have edited any comments made to give Fanatec a fair chance to hold true to their word, and statement, made here two pages ago.

I placed an order for a GT2 (standard/pure), a set of Clubsport pedals, and a RennSport wheel stand. I fully understand that the stand is not in stock, so this will also be an oppurtunity to find out if they'll ship what is in stock seeing as though I re-ordered everything separately, and ship the stand at a later date. Hope this goes well this time around, doing everything just as Thomas told us to do, in order to get the items shipped right away.

Thanks for the update man ;)

I did the same! :-)
Before I placed the new order Claudia confirmed me again what Thomas has written here yesterday. I'll give you update when order status changes or I find something on my door steps :-)

Ordered my CSP and GT2 seperately last night. Still showing as pending but I'm in Canada.

Hope it can ship as quickly as your guy's did!

I think the only one that's shown as shipped is Spyders as of right now. Fanatec ships from the west coast in the US I believe and it's pretty early there right now. I'm sure it'll change later when the business day gets rolling over there.

Can someone recommend a stand that is equal or better than the Rennsport stand? I am think of changing my order to separate items instead of the GT2 clubsport package + Rennsport wheelstand V2.

Also a wheelstand that is in stock as well :)

Ordered Dec 4, 2010

GT2 Clubsport Package
Rennsport Wheelstand V2

Status: paid
Contacted via email: " will ship in later January "

you can look into wheelstandpro if you want. That's what I'm using with my g25 and I love it, plan on using it with the GT2 as well.

I think it's a little more expensive than the rensport but it's adjustable in every way and it uses HEAVY DUTY hardware. Won't budge if you tigthen it up.

I placed an order on Dec.17 for GT2, CSP and a dongle. I received a delivered status on approx. Dec.20 and email a day or so later.

The tracking # sent was not showing up in USPS or Canadapost system so the other day i emailed Claudia and she sent me a different # that now shows activity on Canadapost site (obviously sent the wrong # first go round).

Last date on Canadapost site is Dec.30 showing it enroute and nothing after that so i have no real idea what is going on now but that is an issue with Canadapost not Fanatec.

Which one of the wheelstand pros do you have, deluxe or regular? I see their site is showing none available till late Feb. now. :(

Why are you looking at a WSP? If I were you I'd go for a Rennsport, they're shipping late Jan from fanatec.

As as wheel stands are you looking for one because of space or cost concerns? If not I went from wheelstand to playseat and it was a world of difference.

@ Booey: Thanks for the suggestion. How does the wheelstand pro work with clubsport pedals? Or will they even fit? Thats my only concern there.

@ Uscbryan: Space is my biggest concern. Id prefer a entry level sim rig to a wheelstand but my game room/office is pretty cramped. I just found a vid on ISR reviewing Sim-Seats rig. Since it is local that is definitely an option. At $349 its affordable as well. Ugh... :)

I will say the playseat is pretty portable. I have the exact same setup as uscbryan. A playseat a1gp with a GT2 and ClubSports. It's very easy to take apart into two sections and the seat folds in half so I can put it in the stair closet when my wife gets tired of looking at it. Also you can get playseats for $329-$349.

No matter what way you go I would really recommend the Buttkicker Gamer 2. I really adds alot. Not sure how easy it is to mount to the sim seat but it's very easy to mount to the playseat.

I actually cancelled my Standard Porsche Pedals order because I was tired of waiting and instead I ordered the Clubsport pedals. Hopefully they ship today or tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be happier with these, anyway.

Unfortunately, this resulted in an additional $18 shipping charge that I wouldn't have received if Fanatec could have modified my original order that included the GT2 and the standard pedals. :(
