Well having said I wouldn't order another wheel I have
I've given up waiting for the GT3 V1-V2 upgrade kit and placed the order for a GT2 online last night!!
and got an email today saying .....
The order will be shipped now!!
So expect my G25 kit will now get sold along with the GT3V1 Wheel ..
Ahhh, a little more salt in the wound of us suckers who thought we were getting in early with CS edition........it hurts so good.

I'm fairly surprised to be honest on the web page said to expect shipments at the end of Feb, still it's not arrived yet :) perhaps it will take a while to get here

I wasn't trying to rub it in(as I'm sure you know :guilty:) just to demonstrates that the wheels perhaps are in, it's the other components that are taking the time.. the wait will be worth it I'm sure.

We know that. We are actually happy for you. It just shows we need to take the changes Fanatec said they were going to make to avoid shortages with a grain of salt.

but Fanatec explicitly said last week they would ship partial orders and not wait for missing shifters and paddles

They did but I think SToronto is right when he said they are going to wait out January first:
I think what Thomas said was that they are waiting a bit more to see if they can ship CS orders complete. If they cannot ship complete by end of January they will ship what is available at no extra cost. So they still have a couple weeks to attempt to ship everything. If those shifters did arrive in the US on Dec 31, they should be able to ship the CS orders complete by end of January.

How about clarifying this for those of us Clubsport Edition suckers Thomas?

I know you weren't rubbing it in but sure seems like Fanatec is. It is soooo backwards to offer a "package" - usually done for logistical ease and money saving - and then say you ordered the package, that's too hard to ship seperately, because of the logistics. Oh, and by the way anyone who orders anything seperately - it will ship today! All the while everyone who "pre-ordered" the CS edition gets kicked in the teeth and made to feel like a fool for spending the extra money for the "package".

I can guarantee no one who has read the thread will never order a "package" from them again......I know I won't.

Wow, thats quite annoying :guilty:

I think next time I will buy a real GT2,GT3, etc and join the Porsche Club before my next order. Maybe then I will get priority!? :ouch:

Quote from Fanatec Blog - "It is impossible to tell what order will be shipped at what date but we get in enough products to fullfil all open orders in late January at the latest. And in case we cannot ship the Clubsport editions because the shifters or carbon shifter paddles are missing then we will make separate shipments with no extra cost."

That does not mean they will ship by the end of January. First - How will they know if they can or can't ship? If they can ship them later, why can't they just ship them now? I will happily take my wheel and CSP now ship rest when you get it, I'm ok with that.

While I agree that this would be the right thing for Fanatec to do for those who ordered the Clubsport Edition, I think the conjunctive "And" at the start of that sentence indicates SToronto is correct.

But this could be easily fixed if Thomas would just clarify.

When I applauded Thomas' fixes to the problem, I too was reading it as " we will ship now what we have" but unfortunately I think I was wrong.

Just venting my frustration. But really what prevents them from just shipping what they have now. They obviously read the forums, it would have made alot of people happy to hear "we will ship the items we have in stock, the shifters will be shipped as they arrive."

Problem solved.

Faddish if go back about 10 pages and read you can see we had this whole debate already with Fanatec. He basically said that their system is not equipped to allow them to split the orders and ship the parts individually.

I have a question though, did anyone in Canada who ordered from Fanatec get a tracking number? My order went to delivered last week and I know most people got a UPS number by today, but they don't use UPS for the Canadian orders so I'm not sure if I'll even get a tracking number.

Yeah but that was before they said, NOW we can.......if we have to.

Ok, if it is not equipped then how would he ever be able to do this?:

Thomas' blog
And in case we cannot ship the Clubsport editions because the shifters or carbon shifter paddles are missing then we will make separate shipments with no extra cost.

By not equipped, what he really means is: "we are not willing to assume extra cost of shipping separately until the situation gets worse for us"

Well if I remember correctly he said the system was not equipped to do that and then after he had that meeting on friday morning to sort out all of the orders and the shipping dates, he said that he could send things out individually if the parts he was waiting on were further delayed.

Take it how you want, but remember I'm just trying to help out by letting you know what the official guy said, don't shoot the messenger! :sly:

I would sure like to know the answer to this as well.

No offense meant. I get it. If I'm not mistaken you were one of the ones who changed your order and it shipped the same day - good call. After reading all of this stuff I was just a little leary of changing my order........wish I would have. When I did finally decide to I just got an automated e-mail response saying it will ship by end of January.

See, I don't know if that's really the case, because for those that did re-order and are having things shipped....if there's something in the order that isn't in stock yet, it's being shipped seperately. Case in point....my Rennsport Stand. I originally ordered a GT2 CS Edition. When Thomas said that we could order everything individually and it would ship right away, I canceled my CS package and did just that. I also ordered a Rennsport stand in the same re-order. I ordered a GT2, a set of CSP's, and the stand (didn't order the shifters...im going to buy either the CSS or a lightning SST). Well, the GT2 and the CSP's are shipping today, and the Rennsport stand once they clear customs. Everybody had the option to do the same thing that myself and many others did.....cancel their CS editions and re-order it seperately. If you didn't mind aluminum paddles...the was no price difference (in the US)

Good stuff 👍

I was actually ready to order the CSE and at the last minute I found this topic and the day Thomas said the individual orders would ship immediately I put my order in.

I guess I lucked out on the timing.

That was only an option for like 48 hours though. When I tried to do it (shortly after you did) I just got a canned e-mail response saying my order will ship at the end of January.

I know you are just relaying; don't take any offense.

I am waiting like everyone else. I think it is sad/hilarious (you choose) that after having sold my G25, 360 wheels, and GT Force to buy this with my wife's blessing, I have now gone out and purchased a G27 for backup. Why?

1. Because I probably have another month before I can use my wheel I ordered Dec 7th.

2. I am not even sure the wheel package I get will be in full working condition when it does get here.

:ill:

This would be fine if they had not taken my money yet. I am not willing to go through that dance. But, I am glad you were able to do so.

To be honest, those including myself who ordered the CS Edition in December knew that it wouldn't ship until January. They are missing the shifters. I like everybody else would love to have whatever I can including my Rennsport stand tomorrow. However they did say January, last I checked there is still many more days left in January. If they decide to ship whatever is available now, that is totally optional. But they are being fair in waiting it out till end of January, if they do this they are sticking to their word. They have offered to ship what is available if they can't keep their word to those who ordered in December. I think it is fair. They obviously don't want to ship what is available tomorrow because they will incur extra shipping costs which is totally understandable.

The blog post states they should be able to ship all open orders to customers by end of January. If not, they will compensate by shipping what is available. They won't ship what is available now because they never promised to do that, so they don't have to, which is fair. We knew it would be sometime in January (those who ordered in December).
