No, just scratched the surface. Remember there are two islands for SP.
Have 50% maybe of the first one.

Did a few missions (5-8) and cleaned 5 outposts, safehouses

Well the game became available to me on Steam for some reason (most likely because the account is originally Australian). (pre-ordered yesterday) :dunce:

Where's the map editor? I'm looking through the multiplayer and story menu's but I can't find it...

Edit: Just found it...I thought it came actually packaged within the game. It was buried in some Steam folder...

Ya, its in the main install directory. I only messed with it for a couple minutes.

@ibo.. wow. That's a lot of game.

This game is amazing. It's beautiful and very polished.

My only gripe is the hud placement and size. Otherwise a perfect game.

About 1 hour in the game and I must say graphics and sound, atmosphere and freedom are great, but the game is so bugged, that it became unplayable.
Three time after returning from the main menu back to the game i clipped through the map and had to restart the mission, also the crafting menu was hanging now two times, not being able to finish the tutorial.
Very sad, gotto wait for a patch?!

:nervous: Is 9:36 100% completion of missions? Also, what version do you have? Normal, deluxe, etc.
Sorry, I had to laugh at that...

I know newer games tend to have shorter SP campaigns than their predecessors; mostly due to increased graphics/physics and content - but ten hours wouldn't even be ten percent of FC2's SP playtime. I think we're safe with this one.

Should be getting it today or tomorrow.

For those who also get a hanging game, as long the Uplay servers are offline, disable your internet connection and play the game offline.
Fixed the crafting bug and the clipping problem for me, but the game remains unplayable, as I cannot exit the car in the mission.
So sad that people with a pirated version are playing the game, and honest guys are ... well you know.
Anyways, everyone who's got the game running, enjoy ;)

@spike: do you have downloaded the newest patch (1.01) and newest drivers for your gfxcard?

All up to date. There are a few other people out there with similar bugs, just gotto wait til the ubiservers are back up, and hope for improvement.

How's this for the PS3? I'm considering getting this for x-mas. I've read a lot about screentearing and FPS issues, but I might be wrong about the latter. However, I'm currently watching a 45 minutes long review of the PS3 version and it doesn't seem all that bad or noticeable. It looks rather good and stable. Anyone else who can confirm this?

Not one freeze/hang/glitch for me 12 hours in. I am on PS3 though, I guess your on PC considering the pirate comment?

After game report : 9h36min

:lol::lol:

With a lots of pauses... but still

You can be proud, its a great purchase.

The game is awesome. Graphics are really good for a console port. Story seems cool so far.
Shooting and sound of weapons are good.
Wild life is awesome.

If you played Red dead Redemption. It's the same. You can spend hours just killing the fauna of the game 👍 I did it in RDR and still do it here.

All quirks about FC2 are gone, at least for me, the hillarious long travels to missions is gone 👍

This is the FC2 everybody hoped for.

Map seems huge. Terrain is good. And so much bullet food. And you can approch the way you want, customize weapons,...

My weapons of choice are an mp5sd, m700 sniperrife, m12 holo+sd, bow. Silent assassin.

Awesome game.

If anyone plays on PC and wants to try mp or co op, my name is iboniboxps (very old account when i had my dell xps)
Though Sp is were this game shines through. They should have spend that developpement time for more SP.
Thats a great first impression review. I bought all the other FC games but I am just nervous about the small community. Usually we spend hours creating maps but then after the first few weeks the community is tiny. I still plan on renting this for sure but I am bordeline buying it. Especially when you said "This is the FC2 we all hoped for". I personally hated FC2 but loved all the others. I will try to rent it for sure on Tuesday.

I am thinking the same exact thing. Especially since I loved every single FC game besides FC2. The rental is only $3.00 for 5 days so I have nothing to lose.

I bought the Insane Edition a few minutes ago, it's wierd that my local store had the spanish box instead of the english box. The island survival guide is useless to me since I can't read spanish, oh well at least the game is still in english :P

And perhaps a lot to gain? :D

^ English survival guide for anyone wanting it.
A gift from those of us that were dishonest (lol) enough to already have purchased the game but got it early.

This game deserves way more than a rental; purchase it (or some dlc) to support the devs.

http//en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/far_cry_(film)

4 years late:sly:, Was crap though, and German: D. Isuppose there could be another though. I'd welcome a film based on FC3. Such great characters, and atmosphere.

I'm German, and I must say Uwe Boll is a embarrassment to every games fan from Germany. Each of his game adopted movies sucked bad time and I hope he never makes a movie again.
A Far Cry movie by Mark Wimmer or Luc Besson would be great, but without the alien/monsters plot.

Just finished all story line quests on the first island and about 85ish percent of optional....

Freaking amazing game. This is a must-buy. I don't want it to end.

Time to sneak onto the other island.

I'm on the other island now aswell, The outposts & radio towers are noticeably more difficult, So much fun though. This may seem like a bold statement but its possibly one of if not the best game I've ever played.

And I love the .50 Cal sniper rifle!!!, Not as much as citra though. Hmm

Current weapon choices,

.50 Sniper - Silenced, HP scope & ext mags.

P146. - ACOC, Might go back to FAMAS though, Or Galil.

Vector .45 - Silenced, RDS & ext mags.

Ultimax LMG, Soon to be Spas 12.

Luc Besson has done quite a few non-alien films :sly: Leon being one of the best. I reckon he'd be a good choice indeed.

Indeed, Leon and The Big Blue (Le Grand Bleu) are 2 of my favorite films. Jean Reno is so cool in both film.

Back to topic I lover FC3 aswell, it's pretty damn cool so far, I'm only on first island but I take my time to play it. I'm in no rush so I'm enjoying it a lot.

It still hasn't arrived for me - looks like I'll be waiting until Monday. Still, no worries, I can wait.
