It's better than Redline and that was all about cars, and I hated every damn minute of it.

I haven't even seen this yet and I already know (yes, know) this is better than that crap.

You have to admit, the main chick in Redline was hot. And so were the cars.




I might see this movie. I've only seen the first F&F (which was great), and the reboot (which I found OK). I think they need a new direction for this, or at least a better plot. But I don't think that's going to happen, so yeah, I better not raise my expectations case I do decide I'm seeing this.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read your comment anyway. It's pretty much what I expected after I watched the trailers, unfortunately.

I think the same thing can be said about the fourth movie [less cars than previous movies], but I still enjoyed that one and actually own it on Blu-ray.

Type S Tony must've just watched his first film in regards to The Fast and the Furious. These movies are all outrageous and over-the-top, and that's what makes it fun. Also, how is them being involved in heists something new? The was the hole reason why Paul Walker's character got involved, he was a fed trying to bring in the robbers who were stealing electronics. This is nothing new.

I also have a pet-peeve when it comes to people complaining that these movies aren't "realistic" enough or too "fake." No one seemed to complain about the aliens in Star Wars, the floating mountians in Avatar, or the alien-robots in Transformers... Those aren't real either . Try to suspend realism for a minute, guys - it's just a movie.

Anyways, I can't wait to see this movie. It looks pleasantly over-the-top. I love every ounce of every trailer that I've seen. I just hope that we have a boxing match with The Rock and Vin Diesel, or at least some arm-wrestling. I'm also counting on at least one car landing a barrel-roll of some sort.

^ ok well Basically the whole robbing side of things was major in FF1, the rest were mainly other crime related.

If you want "pleasently over the top" then this is the movie for you but unlike the others this just go's wayyyyyyy over the top.

I can understand your "pet peeve" as you put it but all those movies you listed in your post fall into the Sci-Fi genre and have no real place being compared to something like the FF series, basically people went to see those movies expecting to see aliens and cars turning into awesome galactic robots

Oh & you will be satisfied with Vin taking on the Rock but once again its completely unbelievable.

its a movie its ment for enjoyment no fast and furious movie was supposed to truly be believable. i have some free tickets ill check it out and add it to my fast and furious collection i just hope there is a decent dscene with the 370 z the sti and of course the classic charger

saw it yesterday.

I think it's not that bad. I actually like it. There is one scene were a race is really missing,( i was immediatly wtf, and i won't be the first neither the last to think so), and would have been appropriate for an automotive movie. But all in all i liked it.
The Rock and Diesel are really good counter caracters. And the whole team up is great. I had some good laughs with Tyrese

I need to stand with Tony though on the lack of racing, and cars.
There are obvious parts were they are missing, but at least it's got a passable story.

Just got back from seeing the late night show....

Awesome!

I really enjoyed it. Sure there weren't many car scenes, but the other movies make up for it. Once these last two come out on DVD and you can watch them all in a row (in the correct order!) it will all even itself out. Can anyone tell me what was up with the police chick that is with Dom at the end of the movie? What is her story? That's really the only thing in the entire move that confused the hell out of me...

Oh, and did everyone remember to stay after the movie and sit through the credits?

Saw it last night and it was surprisingly good. Yeah it's quite over the top but it works. It's a great action film even if you aren't a fan of the series. The scene with the vault is just insanity on all levels and the confrontation with Vin Diesel and The Rock is pretty bad ass. I guess my only gripe is that FnF has always been a car film with action while this movie is more of an action film with cars (if that makes any sense). Basically the cars and driving/racing scenes took a back seat in this one for most of the movie. They actually left out a race at one point. With that being said, it was still entertaining.

great movie, been a f&f fan since the first one came out . i give it a rate of 10 =). and my favorite part was when they test out the cars when the surveillance camara tried to keep up.
