I'll buy it. It looks ok, I am no graphics whore, so I don't care. The gameplay looks like NFS, which is ok aswell...

Looks alright. I've got the NFSU games and this looks like it'll be unsurprisingly similar. I stopped buying PS2 games after GT4 came out, but any game with this car in should be an instant classic :p

Oh..........this has got to be one of the worst rip-offs of Need for Speed Underground. I mean....open city racing, and to find races....and the drifting....

This game definately has to be one of the worst in history

Huh. I thought it would go through all three movies.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh beacuse of the "Fast and Furious" label. It might be fun to try.

Wasn't NFSU a rip off of the Fast 'n' Furious films though?

Cosmic

:p I love it.

Ahh, the uninformed. NFS is the rip-off, if you'd take a minute to research, look at IGN> SRS was announced http://ps2.ign.com/articles/361/361151p1.html before NFS Underground http://ps2.ign.com/articles/400/400177p1.html and at Gamespot SRS screens were released months before SRS(http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/streetracingsyndicate/screenindex.html?sid=2912860&page=6) NFSU(http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/nfsunderground/screenindex.html?sid=6027032&page=5). The reason the game came out after NFS:U was 3DO went into bankruptcy and the game was later bought by Namco, which then with Eutechnyx took their time and brought out an average product. I tend to think of this F&F game as SRS 2 when I first saw the screenshots. They better come through with all they say this time regarding customization, i.e. those that have SRS or remember the claim of so much bodykits(which was misleading) and find out there's only one per car. Also the car list, 50 cars, 4 were 350Z's, 5 Skylines, 4 Celicas, like 3 or 4 Supras, etc. was so ridiculous :yuck:. The parts list, was minimal. The physics in the game need a serious overhaul as the drifting was pointless, or non-existent. This game for sure will be my free rental of the month when it comes out.

It doesn't look too bad, but not convincing enough for me to buy it. Is there any other game out there that is or will be coming to the game consoles about drifting? :odd:

D1GP will be coming to america July 11'th. Supposedly a VERY good simulation of drifting and drift competition. There's a thread for it in this very forum on the same page as this one too.

A F&F game was announced years ago, I guess they decided to release it with the new movie. It looks alright, I'll buy it when it's ten bucks at EB or I get a free rental.

It doesn't really seem to have anything innovative that would make me buy it. I've got NFS:U2 already and this game is pretty much just like it.

Just about all the features in the game are already in NFS:U2
Open city
Occasional encounter with rival drivers who you can choose to run.
Check out car dealerships, tune your car at your garage or enter races.
Tuning engine, suspension etc
Body kits neon etc
Normal racing and drifting

To me the only thing that would excite me is if it has good, realistic drifting. The review talks about the different ways to innitiate drifts and a drift meter and coaxing the gas not to spin out. So the drifting may turn out to be fairly good. Everything else is more like a "been there done that."
