My personal favorite would have to be the C5R Corvette, fully decked. The best time I've managed is around a 6:14 run.

The car is just such a handful that it's great. Don't get me wrong though, it handles amazingly well, but once you ride the line it'll let you know in a hurry if you're asking for too much.

My Superbird (and I'm not kidding, either.) Somehow I made it so that it doesn't bounce about anymore; a beautiful, fun drive. The DeLorean is incredible as well... The Opera S2000 and their 350Z...wow. Puts a big on my face when I'm driving these.

Apart from the frustration of failing mission 34 so often, I really like driving the ring in the Mercedes SLR McLaren.

Easy slides around the bumpy turns at 200+ KPH !

I usually go for the Beemer M3 GTR, but have recently discovered that the concept Viper GTSR is a true masterpiece! I left it stock and put S1 on, and boy what a blast! Seriously fast car, and handles really well too! Sub 7´30.000 is no problemo at all.

slightly off topic I can say that the Koenigsegg CCR did a 7´34.xxx IRL and also recorded 313 kph on Döttinger Höhe (the final long straight) wich was some kind of record. For more info go here: http://www.koenigsegg.com/news/articles.asp?news=98&type=news

This somewhat shows the unreal performance of some of the GT4 cars, since the CCR would kick the Vipers nuts to moon faster than anyone can say "Koenigsegg" around any track.

BTW quicjk question, does tyre wear occur in free run and phot run modes, 'coz my S4 seemed to enjoy swapping ends alot under braking, and im not sure if its cos im ruining my rear tyres?

Not in Free Run, and I'm fairly sure not in Photo Mode either.

I like the Nissan R390, it seems to hold the road well and it dosn't get and under/oversteer

i'm trying real hard to like the ring, but it seems that the ring doesn't like me or any of my cars.

a nice FR car, with 200hp stock (+stage 1 turbo) and stiffer suspensions does the trick for me. it's not the fastest thing round' the ring, but it sure is loads of fun!

s13 silvia rides around quite nicely.
rx-7 fd's do well too and so does the rx8

Two great cars I love to use and are known to be favourites at the ring are the BMW M3 and Nissan Skyline GTR

They seem to be a natural at Nurburgring. 👍

My favorite is my Silvia K's Aero S14 Silvia. I just keep tuning it and try to get the fastest possible time that I can on the ring. I've got it tuned pretty good, I'm about to break the 7 minute range in an S14. My next favorite is the rally Evo VI I believe, you know, the white and red rally Mitsu. That car can get crazy good times on the ring, in the 6's.

After driving the DTM races in European events I must say that the Mercedes 190 EVO II Touring Car is going to the top of my list. Man that car is just made to tackle the Ring. It's my first run sub 7,30. Haven't tried real race cars yet!

I'd go with the Caterham as well, if I could get the suspension to behave properly. I've had some unwanted surprises going through Kesselchen, any particularly bumpy section of the track keeps me on my toes with that car. Then again I imagine that's just how it rides even if you soften the shocks.

The engine sure sounds beautiful though. 👍

Some decent cars to run on the ring to get acquainted with it, IMHO are:

Lotus Elan: A tad slow, yes...considering the HP output, but you do go at a decent pace to where you can't just put the 'pedal to the medal' and go and does allow you to take in all the track at a decent pace. Again, this is just a good car to get used to the ring on...

BMW 330i Turing car: At around 300+ I think, as I can't recall the exact HP output, it's a good FR car. Above average suspension holds the car to the track even under the hardest of conditions and has decent low end power. (Stock 330i is also another good car to run as well!)

Ruf 3400S: What can be said about any of the Ruf cars!
The back-end likes to slide but not too much to where it's uncontrollable and offers decent HP...again around 300hp I beleive but being at work right now, I don't have access to my PS2 and I'm too lazy to search for it in the car list!
