The touring cars are fantastic, as are the group c cars, but they're so fast i find them hard to enjoy. I enjoy driving light cars like lotuses around the ring, and also love the RUF's. Don't get me wrong, the M3 GTR is a great car, but it lacks character in my opinion. Also i just tried the simply breathtaking Mitsubish lancer 1600 rally car for the first time, and it blew me away. I could take the corners at leaset 20mph faster than you'd think, just refusing to understeer or oversteer. I didn't try the car initially because its ugly, but it has to be one of the best drivers cars in the whole game.

EDIT: I also forgot the honda NSX, which is fantastic, and the FTO LM. Skylines are also fun.

I just tried the old Lancer today. With a Stage 3 turbo and R1 tires I managed a lap of 7.30. I was all over the place, way too hard suspension.

My favorite car for the "ring" would have to be the BMW M3 GTR. That car is just amazing on that track, it just hugs tightly on every curve and just lets go on the straight . That car is just 🤬 amazing.

Interesting selection.

My fav car on the ring, all these car have no power modification, just transmission, weight, suspension work. Running on Racing Hard tires:

1) 99' NSX Type-S (The perfect amount of grip for fun, Type Rs are too grippy)
2) M3 CSL
3) RX-7 FD Spirit R
4) Mercedes Benz SL65
5) Toyota MR2s in general.

I recently tried the new NSX and NSX Type S, the improvement over the old ones is huge !! I simply thought it was only a facelift to cover up the wrinkles but a simple increse in tire size can do wonders with a car's balance...... I don't know why, but my NSX Type S Zero with 220 km on it feels really wierd Maybe it's just me.

About the MR2s, I like all of them, but on the Ring, it's hard to push them to their limits, especially after the Karusell, around Hohe Acht and Wippermann, where wheight-transitions are strong.

Mostly at Nürb I drive cars with good acceleration and grip including Honda NSX, Nissan Skyline and some other Japanese sportscars, but I have to say that my favorite car to drive at Nürb is( not counting the Le Mans cars ) the Opera Performance S2000 with almost 500 HP and only 900 Kg mass.

My first car was a Monaro. After making some money I tuned it up to GT spec and set it up at the Nurburgring while learning thre track at the same time. The Monaro is still my fave car for this track. Others might be the Oreca Viper, Falken Skyline and Shelby GT350.

I'd say my Superbee (700 hp, decklid spoiler, R2's) and the Protomotors Spirra V8 (without any assistances; stock). Both are absolute blasts and are totally controllable, despite their tossable nature. 👍

Cars I tend to use on the 'rnig:

AE86 on N2s: Not the fastest car available, but has the right pace if you want to take your time, and it won't bore you to death either. Very controllable car, and will fly into most corners without a hitch, and with some oversteeer possible with some feint motion, it can slide through a few corners well. A good car for learning the circuit and how to get the best from it. Not only do I like to use the standard car, but I've got a heavily tuned model with a turbocharger, which is fine around the ring, though I might try out the supercharger and see if it's differnet power characteristics are any good.

Mazda MX-5 (any): SImilar to the AE86, but even more agile. The balance makes these things very easy to control in just about any situation.

RUF BTR on any normal tyres: A modified version of Germany's most famous hypercar, combined with Germainy's ultimate circuit. Not just that, but a powerful rear-engined car coipled with plenty of elevation changes and tight, challenging bends makes every lap feel like a significant life event.

BMW M5 on normal tyres: A superbly fast sports saloon, it corners unike any other car of it's type, and the 7-speed gearbox mkaes light work of acceleration away from corners quickly. The engine note even seems to resemble an F1 car.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII GSR on N2s: The four-wheel drive system works pretty well here, as does the six-speed transmission. This car's superb brakes allow you to get away with hitting the anchors rather late.

Honda NSX Type R ('02) on N2s: Very light and agile feeling car, Feels a bit twitchy on faster corners as with many high speed MR cars, but can take tighter corners very well and is reasonalby controllable.

BMW M3 GTR Race car: Being German, it obviosly feels at home on the 'ring. It's also a pretty controllable car with the sort of pace you'd expect from such a car.

AMG Mercedes 190E Cosworth: Fast, controllable, and has some retro value to it. Handles just about every situation brilliantly.

Im also having a lot of fun running a stock Corvette Z06, just a clutch upgrade, the car feels great in stock form except for along the last straight where it just runs out of grunt in 6th gear.

My favorite is the Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car '02

The reason is simple.

I like to drive a car that needs constant attention just to keep it on the track, the NSX-R LM Prototype has great handling but feels very light, small bumps in the road or the camber of the track seem to be amplified by the NSX-R LM .
Its tricky but rewarding.

I like the M3 GTR ...but it's a greater challange with the NSX-R LM because when you ace the track with the NSX-R LM it takes alot of consentration and quick reactions, but the reward is a good lap time. were as i can ease the M3 around the Nurb and it does every thing its asked of, the NSX-R LM on the other hand i have to be far more precise it takes far more imput from the driver to keep it on the track and maintain a good racing line.


Another thing i like about the Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car '02 is that it reminds me of playing GT1, back in GT1 the NSX-R GT2 or the NSX-R type s zero were both very twitchy light cars, that needed alot of imput to get good lap times and keep them on the track but very rewarding when mastered.

BMW M3 CSL - Simply the best, neutral when you like, oversteer when you like (can do 7.26 stock with S2 tires! Much more adjustable than the GTR)
RUF CTR Yellowbird - Most fun car, awesome soundtrack, handling to die for and enough shove too...
TOM's Chaser - The balance is a revelation - you can make this car do anything you like!
Lotus Esprit V8 SE - Very quick for its power, also stability and playfulness nicely combined
Subaru Impreza STi Prodrive Style - Really tossable, not the usual understeering mess like most 4WDs
Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 M-Spec Nur - All the best qualities of a good RWD, plus added traction of 4WD, can get close to 8'00 with N2 tires
