I just tried the Lancer today and I have to join you guys. It's pure magic! I never could've thought that a car that under-powered could be so much fun. Propably because it's so damn light.

Hehe, it seems underpowered, but when you do some calculations you'll see that the power-to-weight ratio is about the same as in a GT-R Skyline or a Supra RZ. And it corners much faster than these two as it's lighter, the same applies to braking too.

I noticed. I was able to make better laps with the Lancer than with a stock R32 Skyline... Nice car all the way the Lancer. The Lancer loses in straight speed more than in anything else.

me too. Driving FF cars around that track is my favourite. 400hp and FF mmmmmmmmmmm. Its like marmite.

Hehe, I made a mock-up Civic Type R touring car (BTCC championship me and my friends wanted to try). It's such a blast round the 'Ring! Great acceleration and braking, and a high revving 270BHp engine. XD

favorite car for the 'ring, hmmm...... Id have to go with the CLK D2 touring car. that car feels very smooth and comfortable on the straights and the wider turns of the track. on the shorter, tighter turns, it doesnt try and go off in the grass or the walls. It is suprisingly quick on the ring. My best lap with it is 7'35.838

My second pick is the M3 GTR racecar. It seems like it was bred for the ring cause it is very fun to drive and feels great with the stock settings. This car i will swear by cause I won the 24 hrs. at the ring 9 times with this car.

That car does go very well around the 'Ring

As for DTM cars - Audi A4 doesnt compare to the 190 EvoII DTM. That thing quite happily beats the lof of them for 200pts, and is more fun to drive IMO.

Both - and low downforce. Haven't managed Fuji yet - hte wide straight lets certain cars vanish into the distance. Havent tried the 'Ring either - but that shouldn't be too bad - have 125 there.

Yeah well the Mercedes is quite nice around the 'Ring and it also has a better engine sound, but I just find the A4 better, propably because of the HUGE downforce that sticks the car to the track like it was glued or something. Sometimes it nice though to be able to do some slidin' around da corners and that's when I take my EVOII for a ride.

tried a new car on the ring today the tommy kaira ZZII (with a wing on it) @ 870hp DAMN its fast and it sticks to the track better then the m3 gtr got around 7 mins its fast and handles great.. try it out

Today, my favorite car for the 'Ring is the '73 Alpine A110 1600S. It's a 715kg car, which, when combined with the RR handling properties, makes for a very, very nimble drive. If you get your braking and turn in right, you'll find this Alpine to be one of the best handling cars on S2's. If you don't, you'll find this Alpine to be fun to watch on replays, as it drifts beautifully round bends if you're late.

For all the ranting & raving about great BMW handling- you would think SOMEBODY would mention a Z33 Nissan 350Z---Probabley the easiest car to drive at the limit on the ring in all of GT4

While the Z is definitely easy to drive around and has a very good balance for an FR (especially the GT4 model), for that power class I would take the NSX Type-R '02. It has a better sound and is even more nimble. Though, it's quite a lot more expensive.

Found another: a '96 FD RX-7 RZ. Feels more natural than the newer ones

Hmmm. I'd have to say a German car (Of course). More preferably the Audi A4 Touring car, or the Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring car. 👍

I can totally agree with the Audi A4. Its actually completely comparable to the BMW M3 GTR Racecar. Both untuned, on R1:s.

the clk touring car goes quite nicely, ran a 6:50 on R1's with a DFP. Handles very modestly and forgiving, even with the relentless( but awesome) DFP.

My new favourite car is the RUF BTR. Mine's pushing about 370Hp, with soft sports tyres and the suspension set-up just so.

RUF RGT because its a Porsche. It brakes nice, and with my style, it just grips all the way through no matter what I do. (ALL STOCK and AIDS off) It is a beast, and in some corners, i find myslef saying, "whoa, how can it do that" 'cause of how it turns and maneuvers. One Word; Agility.

Chaparral 2D. First time I tried it I didn't even get to Flugplatz, I quit after realizing you only have 3 gears to work with. Then I watched some old footage of it running around the 'Ring on the History Channel, I gave it a second chance. Had one of my most enjoyable drives yet, just had to keep some good momentum and neglect the L2 button through a couple corners. Sounds like a mean sucker in the really low revs too.
