Irony that women are generally better pilots of aircraft than men.
The problem is that racing is dangerous, pushing your car too much could result in an accident, or worse. Men have an easier time ignoring the danger associated with pushing a one ton slab of metal inches away from guard rails at 340kph. I think it has to do with hormones.

Ridiculous! (in bold)

Again: It is a generic figure.

A woman would need pretty gigantic boobs for them to be clearly visible in a racing suit. Modelling that would make women more angry than not having seperate female models in the game.
As far as poses go: My wife uses the one where you see the driver from the back with HER head turned. Maybe we need another pose like this:

Leilani_Munter.jpg

And then everybody will be happy.

Just like I did.. the most feminine pose of the 9 poses.. There are a lot of helmets and racing gear to find a good combination. And no... I don't have a pink suit with a pink helmet :yuck: I just find a decent combination of a colorfull racingsuit and a helmet with a design I want to make it in real-life some-day !

And like the reaction above:
Go play Sims 3, Plently of customization there

I can asume you... Yes, I do a lot of customization, but hell no Sims 3 for me.. I want to paint cars, put decals and livery's on cars and sometimes I develop many tracks at one day... Just to do something creative.

And with a short time I will place my own thread about my own build Racing-cockpit :sly:

Kaz never intended for people to be offended by the (Rather sexist) decision to have a Male-dominated game: in fact, The reason why he implemented pink, purple, ect... colors into the suits is so everyone has a (vague) choice of what they envision their driver to be. Be it He or She:sly:

In short, Kaz is just being cheap with his cash:dunce:

Don't go bringing purple into this! :sly:

Looking over DP's Indy car seasons, she's finished 12th, 9th, 7th, 6th, 5th, 10th, and is presently 11th in 2011 so far. So, her very best season was 5th place, and she's averaged 8.6th so far in IRL. Sure, that's decent, but not normally quite well enough to be "great". That's just "great for a female driver", which again isn't the same.

Let's average the performance of all 2010 female IRL drivers (doing so because it was a completed season, versus what I was originally going to do and use 2011). I'm not going to count drivers who only did one or just a few races, because of course they're going to rank at the bottom. Danica Patrick finished 10th in 2010. Milka Duno finished 23rd. Simona de Silvestro placed 19th. Sarah Fisher was 26th. Between these four they averaged a finish of 19.5th for the 2010 season. That's not terribly good when one considers that many of the 2011 IRL participants only participated in a few individual races and only 24 drivers joined in more than half of the season's events, and only 22 were there for all of them. This means 2010's IRL female drivers averaged in the back. So, while Danica specifically does alright, IRL's female drivers in general don't do so well relative to their male counterparts.

Now, one could try to argue that there's males at the back. That's true, there are, but they're also in the middle and they're also at the front. They don't average at the rear. They average around average rather than averaging toward the back, as common sense would suggest.

1) Looks to me like Danica tends to average almost perfectly "around average" from your stats listed. Actually, of the 22 you say were in all the events, she's in the top half, so what you'd have to call "above average".

2) What was YOUR best finish in the IRL standings?

The models look pretty generic to me (as in you can't tell the gender) and don't even have first names, just initials.

I guess if you really want a form-fitting suit on women with 36D-24-36 figures ...

My girlfriend bought GT5 and a wheel setup at a garage sale yesterday for me, we set everything up and I can't get her off the game. We haven't created accounts to go online yet but she is wondering if there are many females who play online and if so, how are they treated.

They are treated just like any other people on GT5. :dopey: i have 2 of them on there friends list.

I've seen quite a few female players here on GTPlanet, some of whom are very good at GT5. They are treated just like any other player, no need to treat them any differently. Everyone is equal as far as that goes.

Nicely said. 👍👍

Merged with existing thread.

The ones I know of seem to be treated just like everyone else, but I imagine your girlfriends friends list will fill up almost instantly.

Female drivers online usually get more attention, simply because they're female. I treat them exactly the same as I treat all male drivers, with respect and space.

It's funny, once I joined a room where there was a girl driving and people were quite literally following her around the track, (Free run lobby), everywhere she went, they were there watching her every move! It's quite sad, really.

What I don't respect is when they parade the fact that they're a girl, just for the sake of attention.

I pretend to be a guy, to avoid attention. ;)

Ignore the beard in the picture of me on my profile.

Okay, I'm done joking now... women are generally treated the same as everybody else, but there are some unpleasant situations like men hitting on them or just being pathetic and insulting because the women beat them in a race.

If she's worried about it my advice would be for your girlfriend to not advertise it, but be truthful if asked, as long as it's not done rudely. Most people online appear to not really care at all to be honest, so they'll be cool whatever happens. And the most important advice... have fun! It's a game, if you meet unpleasant people of any age/gender, just leave and look for a better group. :)

I have about 5 active female players on my friends list, 2 of whom race online with all aids off, no abs, on comfort tires. I've witnessed a few meltdowns from guys online when they found out they lost to a girl

Not trying to sound sexist here but women always feel the need to be involved with things that are normally designed for men, let them do as they please.. otherwise there will be hell to pay.

I say there should be an option at the beginning of the career mode to choose your gender. There is no denying you can tell a female from a male even encased in overalls and a helmet. Wider hips, boobies, different stance.. either way it will keep a lot of women happy and quiet if PD include such a feature.

And in all honesty I don't mind racing a chick I know a few chicks that are into cars.. best of both worlds really.

Words fail me, are you 12 years old or just incredibly ignorant !!!!!

I must add, the worst experience I have had so far playing this game online has been in a room populated with "gentlemen" from your country, so bad I felt compelled to report 7 of them.

Not trying to sound sexist but showing your true sexist colours in one simple sentence - well done!

That is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever read here. :yuck: I would love to see your elaboration on that. :dunce:

@Penelope: Nice to see you again ma'am. Hope all is well with you and the family. You should stop by the WRS sometime and run a few TT events. Some good times and intense competition over there nowadays. 👍
