Flick the wheel lock to lock??? There's 900 degrees rotation man.
ghskillaThat's crazy! I doubt you were flicking the wheel that much because in the hairpin at FB 10 I only had to flick the wheel about 200 degrees!
I have the FFB set relatively low (5) so I can flick the wheel from lock to lock quickly. The low FFB settings could possibly be why you think I'm using a controller, as there is less resistance and I can move the wheel much quicker then the default FFB setting (10).
Ok Hugo good to have you bac.
We drive Thursday again our practise race in Fuji F you drive also then??
Yes alonso incredible your unluck.
I hope really you can fix it.
That´s why you using more tyres.
Try with maximum FFB setting and you should start to drive like with a wheel, not a controller.
Probably a good idea your best time was only a 1:14![]()
ghskillaOh, and Afro, putting your wheel lock to lock (especially in these cars) isn't the best way to drive the F1 car, or any other car in general. It puts more strain on the tires, the wheels get hot, and you experience understeer. Most of the time you only need about 200 degrees of steering on either side to get the car around.
ghskillaWell, it depends. I've looked through plenty of threads as to what Force Feedback to use, some said 4, 7, 10, etc. I've driven with force feedback 5-10 and I like the feel of 10 better. It has a much better response than other FB settings, and you could feel the car/track much, MUCH better. Although it's your choice, fiddle around with FB settings until you find one you're comfortable with and makes you faster.
I dont stream any races but I might stream a practice session. Wont stream the race because it takes away my concentration from the race. If you see in the video I posted I keep weaving on the straights. Thats down to me looking at my laptop which is where id look at the chatbox.
I doubt I can match the editing skills of toolo4sno. That man should have a job at FIA TV. Perhaps I could do a 10min highlight video but definitely not a full race.
ghskillaAs I've said plenty and plenty of times, it's your choice. When I was new with the wheel I tried from low-high, and eventually stayed on high, but if you like low feedback, you could try do high-low to find your favorite FB setting. I did it from 5-10, and eventually stuck with 10.
I do an alright job. My work has grown over time (that and my commentary wav file collection). I can't even watch my early work, and without commentary is tough to sit thru. I have such a backlog on life and things going on that require my attention.
I've been trying to come up with ways to shorten the production time up and only do a highlight reel. Doing that requires many drivers to recall and post their highlight reel worthy moments, which makes the capturing easier. I have a que of at least two races I'd like to do videos of (nothing from this season or league for that matter). One where I actually won an F1 GP at Laguna Seca (no, immortal wasn't there, but an underprepared artmannn was there. That's worth something). That reminds me, Laguna Seca has to get back on the calendar next season, just not first race.

Oh God. Wilso, Mon, no_bull, and redhot to worry about. Now Ares is ahead... I'm not going to give up that easily![]()

Skip to 16mins to see that 10 lapper we did at Fuji.
I find Fuji very difficult (to run fast) in the F10. I lose all my time in the last sector. Will definitely start practicing tonight. I have all the old set ups I used last season to see what works. My plan is to get some practice in every day to get ready for the next race!!!👍

I swear to god I'm using a wheel, a DFGT. I took different lines through some of the corners, which probably put more stress on the tires. As for the lock to lock at the hairpin, I have the FFB set relatively low (5) so I can flick the wheel from lock to lock quickly. The low FFB settings could possibly be why you think I'm using a controller, as there is less resistance and I can move the wheel much quicker then the default FFB setting (10). I'm not sure how to prove I'm using a wheel. I took a picture of my setup a little while ago while playing F1 2011 and posted it on twitter. When I find the link, I'll post it
After watching the replays I think I finally found out why my times were so awful compared to everyone else's (I think my best lap was 1:14 on mediums).
I guess I was trying a little too hard to emulate real-life F1, as I was literally the only person who actually geared down for corners. All of you guys went through the hairpin (which is a 1st gear corner) in 3rd, sometimes 4th gear, and took all of the corners at a higher gear then intended, which seemed to work out in your benefit, as your exit speed from those corners was much higher then mine. I didn't watch the replays from everyone's perspective, but it seemed as if everyone I did spectate had used that tactic. Ahh, the little things like that make all the difference I guess
Izzyracer97I also use FFB on 5 n I never hit the lock on any turn not even at monaco
ArtMannnI use FFB on 1, anything higher makes wheel feel heavy as if there is no Power steering. Also you end up steering a lot more than you need to, wearing your tyres. I like the slightest fell on the rumble strips and bumps on the road otherwise i feel like i'm losing control if its higher than 1 and i try to adjust and then spin. Besides, how can u do 60 laps at Monaco on FFB 10?? your arms must have hurt like hell.
