Cons: A bit wild with such little weight

The low weight only helps, especially since the car is always producing downforce. The traction issues at the rear end come from elsewhere.

Forddd

BTW I think the GT40 has the same sound as the MKIV.

I was sorely disappointed with the Ford, won the Jag (oversteer can be tuned out and/or managed when driving...but its phenomenal braking cannot be replaced), and bought the Ferrari. Ferrari all the way.

Thanks to all of you who have contributed, you made the choice much clearer for me. I have bought the ford; it seems like a relatively good all-around type of car. I know I haven't tried all of them (I would love to; this is my goal), and that each one of them has something special about it, but I am happy so far with the Ford. I've used it to finally win the Historic Championship, which I am very happy about :sly: (It was the last series I had to win in order to complete the expert level). All said and done, I don't regret spending 20 mil.

Hi, I won the '69 Ford GT race car (#6) somewhere in the game. It's not as good as the newer (#4). I'd say spend your 20Mil on the Chaperal (2J??) from the UCD, when it shows up. With it's underbody fan for suction (huge dorwforce) it's stuck to the track. It's the car to beat in the "American Extreme" races (the one with the plexiglass rear wing)...P.S, Don't buy a Ferrari F1 (12.5Mil. NCD), you can WIN it too. (B-Spec, all the enduros)....Have fun.

I selected Ferrari as that is what I bought. But really if you just want to be able to drive all 3, then get the Ford. Jaguar is a prize car, Ferrari can be driven in the S License. Ford is the only one you have to buy to drive.

Unless of course, you win it through a prize ticket.

I was actually hoping to get the Ford Mark IV through a 1000 Ticket, but that never happened. Instead I blew 20 Million to get my hands on one and I don't regret it at all, plus I managed to recoup my losses in less than a day by repeatedly winning the Ferrari seasonal race at La Sarthe.

Hi, Nice car too but it's not 20Mil and not as quick.

But... It is in the same exact category of car: 1967 le mans prototype car. It's not premium but is wicked and seems to be better than the ford in American series...

Ford. Beastly sound.

Tis true. It's my favourite of the three. The are many people who have this same dilemma about these cars. Check the other threads for more info and comparisons.

The '67 Birthday Ticket is the shiznet, if you can get your hands on one. You can save a gazillion credits by having a few of these and getting the following cars from them:

1967 (10 cars)
Chaparral 2D Race Car '67 - Save 12M
Ferrari 330 P4 Race Car '67 - Save 20M
Ford Mark IV Race Car '67 - Save 20M
Honda N360 '67
Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706 '67 - Save 15M
Mazda 110S (L10A) '67
Mazda Cosmo Sport (L10A) '67
Mercury Cougar XR-7 '67
Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-B (S54A) '67
Toyota 2000GT '67

I'm sure all know that, but I thought it was worth mentioning. 👍

Ford:

Pros: Highest PP (on mine anyway), has stripes, epic sound
Cons: ...none really. I mean, it's the heaviest, but by 2 kilos. Come on. I don't mind the 4 speed gearbox myself.

The Chaparral 2J also has 3 gearbox of transmission within the body, might lessen the rag between each gear shifts in cornerings or acceleration, but with lower number of gearboxes the car tends to have its maximum speed limited to around 300km/h at most.

The 3-speed boxes on the Chaparrals are incredibly poor. They give off the worst possible acceleration, and in particular let down the 2D. The 2J is still the fastest classic car in the game (save Toyota 7 obviously), but the 3-speed is still odd, and, my god does it look poor.
