like mustrd said, it should be that the hards last longer and are slower but its not like that on the game, they last pretty much the same which males the hards pretty useless in that regards (they are slow and they dont last as long)
With regards to penalties and heavy damage, i agree with rich that it is inrealistic to overtake ghosts an once they have been lapped, its not fun to see your car as a ghost, also, if u make a mistake, u get penalised which is not really fair as i believe everyone makes mistakes. On the heavy damage issue, its a nice idea but what would happen if you got hit by someone or a lapped car and you are forced to pit? It wouldn't help he the got a penalty because It would have ruined your race. If people or when people start respecting the rules then i think we can enable It as everyone will be up to scratch and It will be nice to see people pit because of their own mistakes not because of others'
oh really? I guess the wearing rate is the same now
I remember an update like 2-3 months ago that made soft tyres last like 2x longer , which is unrealistic but obviously people were complaining about it so they made that update but those people usually are the ones who doesn't know how to save tyres or with hardcore suspension. That's what probably ruined it.
Tyres have a huge play on pit strategies , but on a 150 km race your gonna have to stop once anyway so its kinda messed up.
And on the heavy damage like what I said its not going to be that good on a 150 km race because if you need to pit earlier or pit later , before or after you pit stop at around the middle it is for sure an instant podium loss.
Because if it was 300 km , you have to pit stop 2-3x depending on your tyres or set up or how efficient you are so if you need to repair earlier or later then your next stop is further as well then sort out if you need to be efficient and saving on the tyres until your next stop or the finish line , its not like when its 150 km that when you need to repair earlier or later , you've just lost 20 seconds really....
Ill give you an example
Im going through Suzuka Circuit and im at 10/54 laps
and I suddenly crash then I would repair earlier but at the same time get new tyres , that means my next pit stop would and should be around 30+ laps and that also means that you could finish the remaining 54 laps. (tyres have a huge role on this , but you say the wearing is the same

which I don't think is true but they did increase the durability of softs by 100%[x2] just 2-3months ago) But that also means you have to be saving your tyres , so all in all its just like a real f1 grand prix race , it has a lot to do with tyres , saving tyres , pit stop strategies changing when you crash.
In a 150 km race if you crash earlier or later its an instant loss because no matter what , you have to pit stop only once and if you needed to pit stop the second time any earlier or any later there's no recovering or sorting out , its not like in a 300 km race that you can sort and recover for your next pit with the right tyres or saving the tyres to push for the next stop then to finish line or the finish line.
but fuel also plays a big role in strategies because again when your car is lighter you can go faster , so if you load up to full on your first pit stop then your gonna have a hard time keeping the pace and also pit stop takes more time if your loading more than 20 liters.
Obviously I know that in the real 2010 season they carry more fuel load , around 170 liters to finish a whole grand prix race which totals to 300 km but that doesn't matter because having re fueling is also nice in terms of pit stop strategies.
But non of that matters if you crash too much because I know a lot of people complaining about heavy damage but its totally the driver's error to crash , unless someone crashed on you by purpose then he will be penalized anyway but its a loss for you but thats the reality.
