Its like F1 back in '09 when there was a risk of a break away. Now, what I suggest is we allow ABS seeing as it is nigh on impossible to control. Ok, AT/MT can be controlled for quali if someone watches the replays and no-one leaves once they enter track so I will watch as we all arrive then NO CAR IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE TRACK UNDER ANY CONDITION ONCE YOU ENTER FOR QUALI. then it would stop people changing transmission for the race. I'd be happy to do that if it shuts up all the arguing. Yesterday was a practice race so it is irelevant but I will do my best at stewarding incidents in early stages of the race. As for later stages of the race, if you upload the replay for the involved cars to youtube so I can see the right moment of collision or whatever the incident is, I will investigate.

No can we all grow up and stop bickering. We are here to race and have fun. Nobody signed up to argue with each other so lets not do it.

Totally, I signed up to drive a car that doesn't get a ton of following online (vs NASCAR let's say).

ABS off would be interesting, but I recognize its impossible to enforce and shrinks the grid. Of course, I suggest that after finally getting comfortable with it. I felt that once I could string together some Monaco laps without uncontrollable lockup; I was good to go.

Use the lockups to your advantage and turn the car a little. If you're really adventurous you could adjust brake bias too. No ABS kicks the fun factor for those with a wheel thru the roof. Using a controller wouldn't probably translate to a more pleasant experience.

Anyway, big grids full of competent F1 sim. drivers is what I want. An excel spreadsheet is just icing.

As for signups, there are 17 signed up, but typically around 50% of those will actually show up for the race. I want all 17 on the spreadsheet, sort of like a file list of sports players, regardless as to whether they have a recorded points result or not. KJ being the latest.

The ABS will stay the same (ABS 1). Yes its possible to turn it up during the race with your wheel. ABS 1 and ABS 5 have the same results. The lowest setting prevents wheel lock. The only real change without to with is that you can stomp on the brake pedal abit more in corners without the car under-steering. Lap times are similar with or without.

As for reventon/enzo/RB6 he can race if he behaves himself. Its just been difficult with all the criticism over driving aids. Not everybody uses a wheel and so its almost impossible for some to drive without aids, considering the varying ability of everyone.

Its obvious D-unexpected uses a wheel. There's no way in hell he could get those lap times within 4 seconds of what he's done with a controller. He'll have to keep 2 wheels on track, 2 on the green surfaces at Monza for a validated result. I'll communicate that to everybody B4 qualifying. It'll take a LONG time to get results posted, because I'll have to go back and look at each HUD through the entire 35 lap race and watch for corner cutting. 3 corner cuts will be the allowed limit, after that its a 10 second penalty. more than 5 cuts will be a DQ. Each person should save the replay so they can watch it if they want.

I told Golfer to send out reminders.... I will send them out next week. Race will be in my lounge on Sunday (Monza, 35 laps).
 
hey any room left toolo4sno said i should stop by n check this out, ive been driving the F1's for 2+ months now and i'd luv to get in on this i was in a room tonight not just long b4 i posted this with mustardadd and kept up with him some what decsintly , the name i go by is Wilso my psn is EndLesS-WiLso :F2007 is was up ;]

Yeah, the race on Sunday will be in mustard's lounge. You should add mustardaddict as a friend on PSN. He'll open the room up around 6:15 P.M. GMT on Sunday, which is around 1:15 P.M. U.S. central time zone. The practice will end 45 minutes later, qualifying will start. Read the first post for details.

I forgot to add SKD420 PSN:SKD420 to the list. He'll need to be put the spreadsheet.

did anyone else notice that at Fuji, the starting order wasn't anything like the qualifiying we all did. I quali in 4th and started 6th. My m8 quai was 3rd. He started last? Any ideas?

Decent passing straight. High speed turns with plenty of wheel to wheel action. That barely lit technical section with the trees strung with lights. SSR5 would be a appropriate substitution.

Yeah, you'll be put on the spreadsheet. I'm going to close it soon because there's 20 signed up now, and only 16 can fit in a room. In case I get a rogue day where 70% of the list shows (shock). Do I have your PSN?

All well and great the F2001 but honestly, WHERE IS OUR RB6?!!!!!
(I know why its not in the game don't worry)

Btw, I'd be happy running full damage at SSR5. Also, can we have a mid-season break just like real F1. Only difference is that we all get together and do a test session. We could run a simulation SSR5 race so see what the heavy damage effects are and if we can scrape through on light damage without cheaters. Also, we could practice at Rome to see if there is possibility.

Rome....I know in the X2010 its faster to stay off the walls. Dont know about a conventional F1 car. I think SS5 is my limit. Heavy damage changes the face of the race, and brings it down to totally clean driving with no contact or very little. Its more fun to run heavy damage, but it does not reward mistakes of any kind.

The person who's fast on light damage may not be the one who wins on heavy....but their the better driver you see, because you cant "dive bomb" in real life without hurting the car, and you cant run into the back of people (so and so at Fuji).

The mechanical damage in GT5 is OK, but you dont have the ability to completely destroy the car (DNF). You can always roll back to the pits.

Thats what I hate about the time trial competitions (and other online competitions in GT5). They reward kamikaze type drivers who push it too far many times to see where the line is. In real life their car would be destroyed many times, and unless uncle is Bill Gates they'd all be done. Top 200 places across the board. That includes me, I've seen what it takes to get within 1.5 seconds of the leader in those GT Academy type TTs. Its Bogus.

BTW, I dont like it when people DNF. I have 20 signed up now. ;)

Dont worry about it. :tup:The car drives the same with them. Online hards are sticky. It helps even out the lap times a bit. F2007 still just a tad faster, and much easier to drive still over the F10.
 
So who is going to be racing on Saturday? Will I be able fill a seat if needed?
I'll be using an F2010 btw.

I'm not trying to make it overly complicated but would it be possible to use Race Mediums on both cars? It could be the soft compound for the F2007 and the hard compound for the F10 (So that people can use different tactics).

Hey NFSCARBON1, you need to add mustardaddict as a friend on PSN, the race will be in his lounge. He tried to add you today but got your name mis-spelled. :sly:

The F2007 is much quicker than the F10, thats why it will start on Hards and hopefully finish on hards depending on what the replay shows as tires go. Its my special way of trying to make things more competitive. For this race I wont DQ if the F2007s change to softs in the 2nd run because I dont know if the replay will detect that or not? Does anybody know, :ouch:

mustardaddict sent you a friend request today, and you'll be free to enter tommorow around 6:15 PM GMT. Not everyone shows for the races, so butting in ahead of somebody wont be an issue. D-UNEXPECTED probably wont show, I know. ;) He might though, lol.
