reventon10 did a blistering 1.09.800 lap time and he used no ABS I watched the replay he was locking the brakes quite a bit on the first few laps and as he says he doesn't use instruments :O

I dont think I've ever seen sub-1:10 apart from D-UNEXPECTED001 using auto gears. :dopey:

I just saw the description in game for the F2007. How inaccurate. It says Kimi's biggest rival was Louis Hamilton and that Kimi made is F1 debut in 2007, not his Ferrari debut as it actually was. He raced in F1 since 2001. Do PD actually follow F1 racing or do they just look at a picture of the 2006 car and the 2007 car and then write random stuff about it hoping it is half accurate?

Louis??? I totally didnt know we had a woman f1 driver. Sorry, his name is LEWIS!!!
Edit: that was really harsh, but as a boy with a name that everyone miss-spells to the girl spelling, i am maybe a little touchy on the whole thing...

just for the hell of it i went to Nur GP/F in my lounge and ran my F2007 on hards around in 1:29.12

There isn't really a good lap time in nurburgring gp because of the wide cuts.

But I could also do 129 with no cuts , hehe

I'd like to join if I can.

You kicked me today!

In the race you guys wont be allowed to go wide on the first tight left hander, however you can go wide on the 2nd right, you know that corner that you go way wide in the Sebastion Vettel X challenge. They do that in real life, that right hander go wide.

not wide , but you can cut it only after the kerb stone

That was the toughest race, with the slippery hairpins and the length.....almost an hour of all out racing. I accidentally kicked somebody that was in, and allowed somebody that wasnt in I think, I will look at that. Nope neither were on the list, but I will add the person I kicked originally (SuperBand). I;ll take a look at the first corner incident, thats what I'm interested in because it put ArtMann in last at the start. He's a top 3 driver usually.

That race was quite nerve-racking. 45 laps was crazy, but real fun. I knew from practice how hard it is to turn around at Cote; so I tried avoiding spin outs at all costs. I didn't have any major errors, but enough small ones to destroy opportunities. I liked how we had some different tire strategies. Mine was apparently wrong, but cool that we differed. How about that near 3 wide we had coming up to the hairpin?

I have hit the elusive 1:09's with a 1:09.899. I had some drafting help from The-Gangsta-Of at first and then FHITB later in the lap. Plus I cut the tip off of the chicane (ouch!!). I can't seem to even get close to that or 1:10's anymore for whatever reason. I knew Reventon would be a handful as he typically does well and beats me at Monaco. I was hoping to reduce the gap after his 2nd pit, and it helped. I ended up screwing up enough to squander the opportunity. Twice I hit the wall because i went to turn on/off my bluetooth. I hate hearing D-bags talking from my center channel, but I should have left it alone.

ive done late 108 with least amound of fuel :P

also cutting through inside the chicane will slow you down in Cote because its an enormous chicane , otherwise in the real monaco its not a huge chicane so drivers always go over it.

and tyre strategies in a 200km race is not as fun as 300 km race (real gp) , also if its 300 km then its nice to have heavy damage and also fueling adds to pits strategy

Watch my above vids, their oldies but goodies. :)

I would race the F10 in type v or nord only if there is no ABS because if there isn't obviously the F2007 already has a huge advantage in nords.

I'd put the F2007 with Hards... And maybe a reduced PP. That'd do it. I'm well experienced in the diff between the two on the Nord....Logged quite a few laps although I'm not nearly the fastest on track.

hards on f2007 is okay in nurburgring , still not enough to make it equal but im good with that.

For the next race, we'll do GP/F. Then maybe as a one off exhibition the Type V layout over 13 laps, the distance of a full GP sometime later on.

Guys I'm pulling out of the series so I can put more focus on the LMP series as I don't have time to develop a setup for both series for each race and their are more cars at the LMP series. I also will have to miss the last few races due to my own Eco series so I would only be doing a half season anyway. Sorry about this. If you need to me to fill in any slots then just contact me before the race. Sorry. This race series is also becoming very complex at the moment. I may rejoin at a later date.

I never use car setups. They are worthless in GT5. The basic setup with max downforce and gears just long enough for the fastest strait is almost always the optimal package.

any setup is never the best

first you have to adapt to the car

second you have to adapt to the settings you will be using

setup wise , any kind of advantage always have a disadvantage.

I can give you my settings but I can tell you it will be difficult to adapt to

I agree with both ideas. If I knew what I was doing I would change settings other than Aero and gearing (speaking specifically for Ferrari F1). For practice before the Monaco race I tried a custom 7th gear setting, but went back to a 186?mph top speed setting for the race. The LSD is beyond me, although an hour or less of research may shed some light. I also agree that depending on the driving style, custom tailored settings could fit certain styles better. I've dabbled in suspension settings for other cars in the game. Mostly more camber, less ride height (I'm "too low for snow" after all), etc. As Rev. mentions there are trade offs to any setup change.

I think maybe the initial torque might do something significant. I dont want to get caught up in it because making myself slower after 20 minutes of tinkering is depressing and de-valuating.

I think you mentioned (text) during the Monaco race that you started 9th, but qualified 5th. I wonder if that was because myself and some others exited the track and went to the pits (using start, etc) after setting a time, and then didn't attempt further laps. GT5 seems to be ambiguous as to what the order of drivers shown on that right hand list means. Plus two drivers went to the lobby (I requested); after I noticed their tires weren't softs on the F2007s. They came back MT; so while that broke the rule it didn't break the spirit of the rule. That's another likely reason you qualified lower than expected.

You did say these were the first laps at Monaco in an F1 car in GT5. My practice comments may have been harsh, but I've done a ton of laps at Monaco in the F2007 (and earlier in the Formula GT) and that reflects in the lap times. Plus as we have been discussing, (for some/most of the people involved) there were minimal setting changes beyond the obvious top gear change and a decent amount of aero to get a decent lap. Again this is me in a F2007.

Too bad you gotta go. Our committed grid just got smaller. I guess joins us when you can. Knowing that we would not have 100% committal all time is why I added the Points per Race heading. Plus there are other season stats to shoot for.

Also, weren't we using your Toscana track? I think I have it "saved".

Is it too late to get in on this ?.
I have the F10 and soon I hope ti have the F2007 so I am unsure on what car I will be using.

I am not running the thing, but it shouldn't be a problem. Races are Sundays with Practice starting at 6:30 GMT. You can drive either car, but you'll have to stay with that choice. Also keep in mind that there are restrictions sometimes on the F2007. They are trying to iron that out. I'll add you to the spreadsheet (and any other late arrivals) when you've completed a race. Technically we've reached over 16 people signed up, but realistically we only get 40% of those signed up on any given Sunday (plus some stragglers). If you can't make every race there is a stat for points per race and other season stats. It's possible that we'll run races in private lobbies, but that past few have been open rooms. If we run private lobby then you'll have to friend PSN: Mustardaddict. Read up on the first post for rules/regs and further general info.

Yeah The Hog, you can enter. :sly: Races are on Sundays, at 6.15 GMT (warm up is 45 minutes). You qualify at 7 PM GMT and race a little later. Races are 50 minutes long. Typically we get 9 who show up out of 22 or something like that signed. I dont know what the deal is, its been like that in all the leagues I've done. Please show. :scared:

See you there.
