Well I dont want to race without ABS.

I really think you should be more clear about the rules. You changed them all the time. Its even in the firsty post that ABS is allowed.

This was just a waste of time for me.

Anyhow good luck with the series.

I know many people like to go with 1 ABS and then have maximum brake distribution

that is unrealistic


thats why you have brake set up so the wheels dont lock up

thats the reality and if you cant do it right then you cant do anything about it

Ok, you need to learn some manners. Stop the effing texting when people are racing! It is freaking distracting!
Get your rules together and make a decision on the freaking ABS!!
When you get your things together and learn to respect people I'll be more than happy to be a part of the series. In the mean time I'm out!
 
good race, i came closer to 1st place than i expected. i am fine with ABS not being allowed. however, i wont be able to play if it is manual transmission only. i need to use auto for the f1 cars.

Enzo said that he would be happy to be a steward for the championship a few pages back. Got to admit it he was more like Tool's race engineer but oh well.
 
Guys, I'm sorry about not adding everybody, and not getting the room going 45 minutes earlier, like I planned. I had to give a 13 year old a ride home at the last minute.

What I should have done is open the room up, then leave and come back. My fault.
Practice Race 1 results Suzuka:

Only problem is tool is not the only one on track reading random stupid text while trying to concentrate on driving!
 
Excellent race everybody. Shame about Jav but it was very fun. I did my best at consistency which worked a dream right up till lap 24 when the tyre wear caused me to spin going from third (would of been my first podium in a GTP online racing event) to fourth so damn damn damn and blast. Oh well it was only a test. Congrats to Tool. You were flying. I'd like to see you in a F10. The annoying thing is that I had a useless start and then on lap 5 or something my phone vibrated so I parked the car to check. Cost about 55 seconds with the start and the phone and the gap between me and 3rd was 33 seconds so even more damn. I was planning on pitting to get fresh rubber because my lap times really dropped off after the half way. If I pitted on lap 20 like i planned (i realised I would loose position to a F2007 which would be hard to pass) then my laps would of got me 3rd. Oh well thats the thrill and dissapointment of motor racing for you

It was a disaster for me. I didnt have everybody one my friends list, and the F10 is damn hard to drive online. Fastest lap was 1:31.213. Fastest qualifying lap was 1:29.3.

Next time it'll be more organized, and done properly with PM's sent out on PSN when its time to go.

Thats true i will admit. I quite liked reading them though. I could concentrate quite well on the text and driving. Btw I saved the replay. There were no incidents that I was bothered about and I think the same goes for the rest of us... well texting isn't an incident is it? I'll take some photos but tbf they won't be that good. I mean 2 of one car and 4 of another. I'll see what there is. 1st corner will be good I suppose and there was one point when five cars were all hurtleing into the 2nd hairpin half way round the lap. That was funny

my fastest race lap was 1'33 and fastest quali was about 1'32. Average lap in the first half was about mid 1'34 but then tyre wear dropped that to an average of about 1'37 in the 2nd half so I will pit in future
 
can we do the next practice at Madrid please. I like the way the barriers suck you in. And it will be alot more about driver skill than the car (i think) so it will be interesting.

Trust me there was no way I was reading anything over a few words. Even when I looked at the texts, I'd smack my head in punishment. That's why I chimed in on BlueTooth and mentioned there was no way I am reading those. I wish reventon would get a BT headset. I knew once he entered the room, he'd do that; so I made sure not to look. It always screws me up. I do like the idea, but not texting. It's more harm than good. It also has to be for the benefit of everyone. Obviously this isn't possible with a full grid.

Another practice race on Sunday 3rd, April will be at Fuji. We'll be doing it 30 laps, with no driving aids. First page is updated with the details. Its my damn fault I only have 8 of the people on my friends list. I forgot to send out requests to those who I didnt have. So dont worry, will run 1-2 more warm up races before we score points. I had to run an Eran at the last second which was really a hassle as well.

And the F10 does better at Fuji than Suzuka.
 
I might run an open F1 room later this evening/tonight. Probably bounce around courses, but run most at Fuji .

Rich(mustard) and others get friending each other; so we can fill up the grid. I know there are others that would have been gunning for the top.

Does anyone know what differences there are between Practicing (offline) and Free Run (online)? I ran more than a second faster practicing offline before the lobby practice. I am pretty sure I did the same regs. as the race and such.
 
Oh the diff between off and on is massive....My fastest today was a 1:31. My fastest offline in the F10 is mid 1:27s.....And its feels easier offline too!

I stupidly filled my fuel up more than 2/3 full for only 8 more laps. I have run out of fuel before; so I get a little paranoid. I did have a pretty big off on turn one of one of the last few laps too.
 
I'll get the final season schedule going, and get it posted in the next day or so. One practice race after this, atleast.

I don't see why AT matters. I know authentic is nice and all, but I want a full grid. The closer to real it is, the less people we'll have, and the farther from real it is the less authentic it will feel. I think there needs to be a balance, but favoring heavily towards real. For me Suzuka wasn't that bad without ABS, but I can't drive Monaco no ABS without issues. I'll do it anyway because it's the regs. and a challenge, but if given a choice I'd run ABS. I understand how ABS can be abused too; so eliminating it for that makes sense.

Are we doing full damage during the season? That's the line for me that I am not sure about. It sounds awesome and fun on paper until you get damage from another person being careless.

No. MT is a huge prospect for the cars.

If you have an X1 and you go auto you will go tons faster than MT

just like in an F1 car which never really existed

or will it? well it will never exist in motorsports racing.
