Ok Guys, important update...... breaking news.
Gueven has changed his network provider and is now on a higher transmission rate.

This is great news and i wish we had some way to test this with 16 cars before Monday.

Currently Gtrules had taken over Guevebs place, however if Gueven has gone to all this touble to ensure he has a better and faster connection, along with the fact that he is a regular, and a great trainer, i want to somehow try and see if we can test him out, ideally before Monday.

Surely gt rules took guevans place , guev has worked fast to sort out lag issue and as you say gone to a lot of trouble , think he should be reinstated in place of gt who seemed to not get along with a few

An example?

GT3 Cars, untuned, racing hards, 5 laps race, no aids beside abs, boost on low or medium. Grid to be random.

Just hop in and have fun. No qualys, no training just sheer on the moment enjoyment.

Yes, good idea. But after the monday race is not possble for me. Wednesday or thursday is fine. But i prefer no boost.
 
I also can't really stay online after the race. Maybe I would join if I have time another night but until the girlfriend goes to bed I've not got much spare time.
 
Some people are still having a few troubles with the connection, here is what a guy in another series had to say about what he done to help -

Hi mate, it would be usefull for everyone if you could make a little tutorial on which ports to open and how to open these ports. At least how you did it because depending on the router some details might be different.

In my case, i suffered from compatibility issues with servers and hosts. I couldn't enter some rooms, and even if i did enter the room, half of the players coudn't see or hear me on the track. This is exactly the same phenomenon we encounter in our ORA races.. empty places on the grid and cars looking like stuck to each other during the race (see last race replay in RBR)...

Well I have found the solution for that.. yes my friends.. and now i don't have that issue anymore.. i can enter all rooms, everybody can see me and most importantly i see everyone. This has changed my gaming experience forever.

You simply need to configure the internet connection options in from your PS3 to your router and configure the "PPPOE" parameter. This parameter will prioritize your PS3 connection over the internet.

This is what i've done:
- Go to internet options of your PS3
- Use the "Manual" configuration to access all options individually
- Most of the parameters can be set to "automatic" if you want EXCEPT the "PPPOE"
- Activate the PPPOE paramater and you'll be asked to enter the user name and password of your internet connection. It's not easy to find these credentials as they were given to me when i opened my internet connection at home. I had to call my network operator to get that info. In any case the user name looks like this: username@internet_provider. You are going to struggle to find it but it's worth it believe me.
- Then simply go until the end of the internet config and there you have it.. :-)

No more invisibility on track, other drivers can hear, no more cars stuck to eachother like mating dogs..
My gaming experience has totally changed since then.

PS: i know you will drop this procedure when you'll struggle to find your internet connection ID and password.. but i don't know how to convince you to carry on looking.. i'm the living example that it works.

Yes, not only that, he practices with us a lot and really deserves his place.

I was in your ORA lobby when we all had issues. I think a lot of it was host/server-side issues but opening things up user-side is always a good idea.

UK users on PlusNet, I believe this is what you need if you're following the above advice.

Sure, it would be hard for me not race with you, but we have to decide once.

I have changed and tested a few things.
After the change of provider, I use 1 ruter only for GT6. (NAT Type 1)
On this system, no other components are connected.
After a few races in full Rooms I asked people whether they have noticed any errors. ... the faults seem eliminated.

For the race on Monday I have several suggestions:
1. I'm not running, and you give me a message if everything goes smoothly without me?
2. I try to race, and if I am the cause of the disturbances, someone should get my place?

Nat type 1 is perfect, you shouldn't have any issues now.

And I'm in for Monday.

You are in on monday Gueven, you have made a lot of effort to get your connection right.
I will ensure that everyone clears their cashe before they enter qualy room and again before they enter the race room, and if they go to change oil then clear it again.
We havd several races yesterday and today, with quite a few in the room without any problems at all.
You are in Gueven.

By the way Karsten, several of us have had a few little races on the race settings at Brands hatch, sometimes it rains and stops and the track stays dry, sometimes it rains and gets wet very slowly and rain stops and it dries, sometimes it rains and track get wetter and wetter, and sometimes no rain at all, so Monday will be very exciting as its a real lottery what will happen with the weather on those settings.
