I copied a couple of the questions in case you wanted to see what they were like beforehand. Heads up, it'll ask for your name, web address and phone number when your done.

Q8 Using a scale from 1–5 where 5 is ‘Would greatly increase my interest’ and 1 is ‘Has not changed my interest at all’, please indicate how each of the following would change your interest in F1.
5 4 3 2 1

More teams
Including world championship points for qualifying as well as for the race
Drivers who have earned their place through results
More overtaking
More exciting TV coverage
Circuits designed to include more opportunities for overtaking
Having a driver from my country competing in F1
More ‘characters’ in the sport
Fewer technical restrictions

Championship points for qualifying? I like it. Do you?

Q9 How strongly do you agree or disagree that each of the following are essential aspects of F1?
5 4 3 2 1
Flamboyance
Intrigue
Complexity of race strategy
The presence of (world-leading) multi-national companies
Showcases the most advanced technology
Controversy in the sport
Global reach
Exclusivity
Money is no object
It is the sport’s pinnacle
Showcases the skills of the drivers
The presence of (world-leading) multi-national car manufacturers

Q13 Please tell me how strongly you agree or disagree that each of the following would make F1 more entertaining?

Strongly agree – 5 4 3 2 1 – Strongly disagree

5 4 3 2 1
An increase in the number of competing teams
Cars competing on the same technical level
Re-introduction of tyre changes
Introduction of different types of circuits
Removing driver aids
More overtaking

Q14 Which qualifying format do you prefer?
The current aggregate two session format
A single lap on low fuel
A single lap on race fuel
The best time from a specified number of flying laps

I like the current aggregate two session format.

Strongly agree – 5 4 3 2 1 – Strongly disagree

Q16b How strongly do you agree or disagree that the following factors have influenced the deterioration in TV coverage?
5 4 3 2 1
Use of too many different camera angles
Presenters
Programme content (e.g. driver profiles, interviews, pit updates)
Coverage style
Commentary
Lack of statistics and data
Too much attention on the race leaders

Q17 How strongly do you agree or disagree with the following statements about technology in F1

Strongly agree – 5 4 3 2 1 – Strongly disagree

5 4 3 2 1
I look forward to the technological innovations each season
Technological innovations have led to more competitive racing
Technology in F1 has become too complex
Technology developed in F1 has improved the design of cars that we drive on the roads today
Technology developed in F1 has improved the safety of cars that we drive on the roads today
Technology developed in F1 has improved the efficiency of cars that we drive on the roads today
F1 is more about technology and less about driver skills
F1’s use of advanced technology sets it apart from other motorsports
Technology is the most exciting aspect of F1

Q18 How strongly do you agree or disagree with the following statements about the future of F1?

In the next five years F1 should …
Strongly agree – 5 4 3 2 1 – Strongly disagree

5 4 3 2 1
ensure that all teams have the same budget
include world championship points for qualifying as well as for the race
be a single-tyre format
eliminate driver aids
provide more technical information for fans
use technical regulations to equalise performance
provide more personal information about drivers for fans
place more emphasis on driver skill and less on driver aids

Q19a How strongly do you agree or disagree that the following are challenges facing F1 in the next five years?
5 4 3 2 1
Improving the profile of other motorsports (this includes MotoGP)
Extending the season to include new countries
Restricting tobacco sponsorship in F1
Running races on successive weekends
Keeping costs under control
Maintaining competitive racing

Yes, I would love to see the extending of the season to allow more countries. I wouldn't mind seeing 6 more races added to the schedule.

Q19b And which one of the following is the biggest challenge facing F1 in the next five years?
Extending the season to include new countries
Running races on successive weekends
Keeping costs under control
Maintaining competitive racing
Restricting tobacco sponsorship in F1
Improving the profile of other motorsports (this includes MotoGP)

None are challenges, but racing every weekend wont be easy either. Restricting tobacco sponship in F1 is a challenge, considering how much money they spend. Or will it?

took it.

man, is this a cool picture or what?

i just think that it should be a lot more competative, and more actively mentioned and involved with in the states.

did it 👍 I hope those bastards do what I say  otherwise I'll never watch F1 again....

Yeah, I did this a few nights ago, I'm going the high cost maximum technology route.

Nice find... long survey, but good...

I only wish there had been an option to moan about the huge and numerous ad breaks here in the UK...(still :grumpy: after the 'Imola' incident! )

Couldn't agree more. no technical, budget or testing restrictions, "if formula 1 was cheap then everyone would do it" can't remember who said that though. F1 should be the pinnacle of motorsport technolgy. I don't care if theres a lot of overtaking it should be hard to pass people on a race curcuit it makes the drivers work.

I agree about more freedom on the technical side. I liked the period when you could choose between a V8, V10, or V12 engine.
Aero rules are very restrictive too, and the cars are very similar to eachother. Paint a Mac laren in red, and try to make the difference with a ferrari (excepting a few details of course)...

As for the survey, I did it also, but I expected it to be more complete.

Moreover, they should add some questions :

- Do you want Max to keep his job ? 👎
- Do you want Bernie to keep his job ? :yuck:
- Would you live without the "moving chicanes" Minardis ? :grumpy:

More seriously, I would have liked to give my opinion about how the FIA managed to DECREASE security, by forcing tires manufacturers to make their tires last the whole race. What would happened if Alonso finally had crashed in the wall, trying to resist with used socks on his car ??

Yeah the V8, V10, V12 period was the best, because they wern't as restrictive, until williams put the first active suspension on there F1 cars and thats when the restrictions came pouring out. 👎

I also agree with you about the tyres, if they went back to when they only changed tyres in a pitstop and not fuel things would be even better, because pitstops would be shorter (3 seconds i think was the record set by bennaton) meaning less overtaking in the pitstops, and more of a penalty if the mechanics messed up.

i wonder how long it's gonna take before they start running inline 4's.

something tells me honda would do pretty damn well under that circumstance. ;)

Hmm,something odd i noticed. This is from the Terms and Conditions of that survey:

"The FIA AMD Formula 1 Fan Survey 2005 (the “Promotion”) is open to persons (excluding residents of the Province of Quebec) who are at least the age of majority in their country of residence (“Participants”)"

Why wouldn't they allow Quebec to take the survey? Not that i care or anything,i'm just curious.

I agree with the one question that there is sometimes too much focus on the race leaders.

I want to see everyone d*mmit.

nobody likes canadians

Rush is my favorite band, and I love hockey.

On topic: I think it's great the FIA is finally listening to the fans for once. They should advertise this survey on every airing of F1 coverage on TV in every country, that way millions of people will take the survey so the FIA can get a good cross-section of fans to find out what we really want.

Well, I'm from Quebec City itself and I just answered the survey.
