If you mean against the A.I., that not even God can help you with defending.

I normally use contain and standing tackle, and only really press when the opposition is about 35 yards out. Never go to ground!

Yeah. As soon as the other guy gets the ball I sprint back until I'm about 10 yards in front of the box and then begin to press. He will normally run towards the sideline and then try to cut in, so I just hold X with the analog stick pointed to cut off the cutback with a standing tackle.

That million coins would be really nice.

Sounds a lot like my zone defending tactic. Zone defend until they get near the box, then close in on them. Seems to work well for me.

Updated my primary squad and am going to venture onto FUT with it. Hopefully it'll do me some good.

I'm quite happy with my Career team at the moment. 4 games in to my second season at Dortmund, won the Treple in the first season, lost the Copa Europe to Real Madrid in my second game this season, and revamping the squad with some nice signings and selling. Before the first season I sold Lewandowski for quite a nice fee, 25million, to PSG, I then bought Drogba who would be prolific for a season while I also played Schieber from the bench most games since Drogba gets fatiqued.

I also signed Yaya Toure who has 3 or 4 good seasons in him I reckon, I had him playing alongside Gundogen in Defensive Mid. I also signed Adil Rami from Valencia to form a good defensive partnership with Hummels.

In January both Gundogen and Schmelzer wanted to leave so I signed Leighton Baines and gave Nuri Sahin a more regular place in the team(he is now rated 85 OVR) I also signed Raheem Sterling in January. He has great pace and I usually bring him on for Blanchikowski since he gets quite fatiqued.

The Summer transfer window was very busy for me, I sold Rues for 50 million, Rami for 16 million and Subotic for 6 or 7 million. For some reason, I got to keep Sahin(who was on loan from Madrid), I believe this was a glitch as he had an injury at the time. With the money from my sales, I signed Courtois from Chelsea, Bale from Spurs, Badstuber from Bayern and Subotic from Fiorintina. I also sold Schieber and bought in a 17 year old 69 OVR from Barcelona B.

At the moment my starting line-up is this...
Courtois
Pischek Badstuber Hummels Baines
Sahin Toure
Blachikowski Gotze Bale
Subotic

On the bench I have Wiedenfeller, Sven Bender, Santana, Drogba and my 3 young players who are getting regularly used as substitutes, Lietner, Bittencourt and Sterling.

At the moment I'm adjusting to playing without adjusting the sliders, so we'll see how this season goes, I do want to get my young signings and scouted players to be world superstars so I think I will stay with Dortmund for ages.

When I was in my first career at Liverpool, Sahin stayed with me for 2 seasons, which was weird. I didn't play him at all in the second though, so he got mad and wanted to get recalled. You could have gotten so much more for Reus though. I have him in my current career and he's rated 91 and worth £45,500,000 real value and £60-90,000,000 market value.

Has anyone else noticed that players seem to sell for more on weekdays? Is this true or am I just imagining it?

I know on a Friday the amount of selling increases by a lot. I don't sell many players so its hard to notice a trend. I discard all cards below 60, and I only open bronze 400 packs.

Yeah I did like how he could make runs from anywhere, and he had the most assists in the league, but I can live without him since Bale was the same age but a couple better on the OVR.

For the future the only players that will probably be replaced is Pisczcek, Baines, Sahin, Toure and Blanchikowski. I've no Right Back to replace him, have Grivaldo who should be good by the time Baines is bad, and have Lietner, Sterling and Bittencourt to go into midfield, may need another defensive mid depending on how good Sven Bender gets.

You could try and pick up Pogba, he's probably got the best potential out of anybody who is primarily a CDM. If you don't mind playing someone who is normally a CM, then you could try to buy Henderson or Allen from Liverpool. Then, if you don't mind bringing somebody up from a low-ish rating, you could buy Luca Marrone from Juventes.

Anyone put their celebration squads from winning the million up yet? I presume it was sent out today.

After a lull for the last week or so, trading seems to have picked up again. I have made over 10k today.

Trading does seem to be picking up, sold 18 contracts in one hour earlier

Bought Buffon for my Serie A team, might make one of the super pace Silvers next, MLS or Pro League. Or a Bronze English team.

Anyone have a less sweaty suggestion?

This new cup is crazy. The specs are so difficult that you almost never come up against 100 Chem teams.

Which is probably why I won it first time with my BPL team.:) It's not worth making a team for but I have tons of players and didn't need to spend a thing. :sly:

Also I've sold Robben and I am selling Ribery so I can try out Ibra. I've changed my bundes team back to 4312 too.

Would you recommend Robben? I've been doing a lot of prospective hybrids around him but Ribery is too much. Have fun with Zlatan 👍.

Pulled anything good lately?

It's very hard to know with this game, most of the time players just don't play as good as they should which makes high value players poor value, I only get them because I can. Sometimes Robben and/or Ribery were awesome but too many times stupid things happened and they were caught by even slow players like Terry and missed open goals. It's no wonder all you see is cheap pacey teams.

I pulled a Lahm the other day but spent all that money and didn't get anything and on my gtp account I've got nothing. I don't open so many packs these days though but my club value is still growing, I'll have more worthless bronze players than most UT players have players.:sly:

If anyone needs a striker for a Premier League team, I recommend Jermaine Defoe. I intended not to have any Spuds players, but he was cheap and is a ridiculously good finisher. Him and Dzeko up front, have everything.

Is 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-2-2 better? I may make a pace rape Brazil/Russian League squad.

I have a 4-2-3-1 Brasil team, with the usual suspects in the CAM positions. If you have pace everywhere, which with a Brasil team isn't hard it is very effective.

I haven't used 4-2-2-2 yet.
