Glad to see that the driver was alright, although I'd love it if it turned out to be one of those dodgy parking attendants at Gatwick Airport who have been joyriding in people's cars while they are on holiday, believing that their beloved cars are safely tucked away in a secure parking lot... That would teach them a lesson!

This is spectacular news can't wait for the rest to burn up and go to hell like the rotten cars they are. Oh did I say that out loud? I mean I am glad the driver is okay but the car I don't really car care about. If it was a supercar that was actually good then I would care but the Bugatti I have never liked. I hope the driver has learnt his lesson: next time buy a good supercar.

What's bad about it?

It's a fantastic car, the owner obviousely thought it was a fantastic car. In which case, he bought a fantastic car.

Wow, you really hate this car. I mean, irrationally so. Did one of these things kill your mother or something? Did you catch one sleeping with your girlfriend? Did a Veyron kidnap your family and hold them for ransom?

I am not going to say why it is a bad car because I know that I will be murdered unless you agree not kill me or argue about my own opinion which cannot change.

No, feel free to state your opinion, you will not be killed or verbally abused if you state your opinion and make it clear that it is just your opinion ;).

Car looks like it's in the UK. This is spectacular - we were all waiting for it to eventually happen.

Indeed it is the UK. The B375, which is Chertsey, SW London. Plenty of money around there.

Right then after liveforspeed said I could go for it here goes.
I personally do not like the Bugatti Veryon as:
1. The car is in my opinion a pointless exercise perfomed by a very rich company that wants to be the best.
2. The car in my opinion is an old design as it was first shown ages ago which makes the car look generally an old shaped car.
3. It is a money losing car as VW spend more on making it than on actaually selling it and cannot recover the money spent form making the car.
4. In my opinion what car company says before the car has even been any where near finished all the stats and then build the car to match the stats orginally quoted? It just seems silly.
5. In my opinion people seem to think it is cool becuase it is the fastest car. That is not a reason to like a car. I do not like a koenigsegg or lamborghini because it is the fast, I like them because them companies have a soul and passion for building good cars as for Bugatti in my opinion obviously don't as the previous cars they had made where piles of rubbish in my opinion which shows they are more in it for the money by this time which they have lost than the passion behind their own cars.
6. In my opinion the car is asad thing that has been given to us all. It shows the bad things about life such as that this lazy company can make the fastest car in the world and possibly the last quickest car in the world. Now personally I do not want the fastest car in the world (Bugati Veryon) to be this. A Koenigsegg would be in my opinion a much better car in my opinion to represent us all. As it is a quick car, looks good, sounds good, spits flame and can run on bio fuel. Now can the Bugatti do all of this? Lets go through the check list together
Quick Car= Yes
Looks Good= No
Spits Flames= No
Can run on bio fuel= No
Hmm seems to be that the Bugatti was built with only one purpose doesnt it? I have never liked cars built with only one purpose such as this.
7. Isnt really very good to run on fuel empties a full tank in about 20 minutes at top speed.
Right they are most of the resons why I dispise the Bugatti. Right noe I need to go and calm my self down think......Aston Martin DB9......Ahhh thats better.
Ow and please remember that all of this is my opinion not all of it may be the same in your opinion.
Thank You

You forgot the bit about when the kidnapped your family.

The good news: the damage appears to be primarily cosmetic (bodywork only)

The bad news: It'll still cost a mint to fix.

As for how fast the car is around a track: If we're talking a horsepower track, like La Sarthe or Daytona, very fast. If it's handling, like Tsukuba, kinda fast, not enough room to run. but, either way, still no race car.

I don't think the car's pointless...it's a very fast, very expensive GT. The ultimate Bahnburner, if you will. If you don't like that, go buy a race car with a license plate.

Fine, let's keep the thread on topic:

- happened in southwest London
- pictures came out of Evotechnik.net's forum
- pictures may have come from the Veyron's tow truck driver, a member on Evotechnik
- two differing versions of the accident: one, hit an Astra (from the member on Evotechnik who photographed it) and two, hit some water and a ditch (from motorauthority)

Questions
- who's the owner?
- what exactly happened?
- what's the extent of the damage?

Does anyone have any other Web sources with more info?

7. Isnt really very good to run on fuel empties a full tank in about 20 minutes at top speed.

Or 12 minutes, depending on who you believe (from James May's piece on Top Gear when he maxxed a Veyron at the Volkswagen test track.). For reference, the McMerc SLR can only run at top speed for 12 minutes before the tank is empty, and that's 45mph slower.

According to Wikipedia, the Bug does 2.1mpg at 253mph - more fuel efficient than a Hummer.

Edit: this is the road in question.

Ouch. Good that the driver is OK...

I don't like the Veyrons design. Nor some other things about it - but I do like the concept of it: A pure exercise. Mixing everyday driveability with outright speed is something few supercars have managed. I like the fact that a 1000HP monstrosity is able to drive calmly around down, and that a sneeze at the throttle will not result in dead tyres. So, I do feel sorry for the car. Even though that reshape of the front doesn't look much worse than the previous one.
Though, it seems like minor damage compared to what it usually seen in such spins... And the guy must thank Bugatti for making it mid-engined. That way, the engine remained undamaged.

Now, lets go there and pick up scraps of Carbon Fiber.

I'm a member of Evotechnik so lets see if I can get the answer to the highlighted questions. :)

Okay, guys, let's keep emotions in check...this thread is beginning to look like The Fallout Shelter before I left...

1 down, 299 to go!

 That's what MistaX told me when he called this morning. He woke me up with the news. For some reason I'm elated - I'm the biggest Veyron fan on Earth but I'm so interested in this it's absurd.

Only about 100 have been made so far, so you're looking at about one percent of every single Veyron manufactured crashed. I wouldn't have predicted a crash in London - I think everyone was thinking Dubai.

I kinda expected something to go wrong on a high-speed run on a bad surface or something... Or the usual thing that happens to hypercars: Drivers attempting to corner about 40KM/h faster than possible. I remember reading about an Enzo-wreck which happened because the driver drove into a hairpin at 50MPH (80KM/h?), while the usual speed was 30MPH (50KM/h)...

Aaahhh well, thats life, and he shouldn't have been driving it in the rain anyway! That should be a nice day car, with a bimmer for rainy weather.

I can see why someone can not like its nose, but outright hate the car for bieng a production design exersize? I'm confused. Oh well, to each his own. :)
