Ouch that sucks. And it turns it into a brick

Yes we already reported this but could this be the start of the worrying new trend, remember kids stick to reputable sites like this one for releases that wont damage your PSP.
Reputeable? It's a dreamcast site

+1 FOR THE NINTENDO DS!!! 👍 👍

To be honest though, it's really those that are into the homebrews that should be on the look(mmm, homebrews, why I love the Dreamcast). If you just play the PSP for what and how it's meant then there's no issue. Now when you mess with Emu's and homebrews you gotta be in the know of how you go about things. Those that are just getting into it are getting got on there PSPs. It's a shame someone had to come up with a way to cause harm to the actual PSP system.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

I think Sony needs to have a virus protection program for the PSP! :O
They should, but do you think it's for free? Becaus many people want a virus scanner, so they easily can ask 10$..

I would be willing to pay for a virus scanner as long as its from Sony's site. Safety is a very important priority to me! :O

Only a matter of time before a Nerd put a Nerd Virus on a Nerd Device

If you are trying to say that it's gonna happen to the DS then my response is  STHU. An upgrade to download to the DS omg  .

edit: It's all clearly avoidable if you just get updates/upgrades from the OFFICIAL PLAYSTATION WEBSITE. Wow, the rush to get a Japanese PSP update thats hacked to English or get an update that exists on the OFFICIAL PS site from some other site, real smart  .

It's not exactly a very clever virus. You do have to open and install it first.

Wonder if you could scan it on computer before uploading to PSP :dopey:

Boy you would have thought sony would haveput in some sort of protection so that core files cant be damaged or altered or even destroyed. If it was me Id send it back to sony.

Thats a pretty poor link, it links to even less info. Lets either post more info for people or nothing at all, it just scares peolpe who dont know about it in detail.

The so called trojan is a fake downgrader. you download it you execute it. It doesnt find its way to your psp on its own. Regular users have nothing to worry about. This for people who want to hack what Sony has established.

They have voided the warranty when running any programs not made offical by sony.

My PSP is originally a 1.50 version so I have nothing to worry about. If your PSP gets pwnd or something, just take the MS out and connect to something else, I can put it in my laptop. Then delete everything and upload some images and MP3's, then the PSP seems normal again. And the BS about a 'log-book' is 100% false..
